I can´t se the point with this wideo other than a compressor being painted, and did you realy have to take it apart to do so, did you change/overhaul the valves, did you change the piston rings, where ara the pictures.
Unfortunately, I have to agree (although there are no valves since this is not an internal combustion engine). a honing tool should have been used in the cylinders (a very inexpensive tool, at least here in the US... maybe $12-$15 USD), rings for the pistons probably would have run about $8-10 USD. and the gaskets.... oh those gaskets. copier paper? very bad idea. even cardboard or cork would have been a bad idea. The types of gasket material you should use on something like this should be rated as high heat, and you can buy it by the sheet for next to nothing. if this unit is not meant to be put back into service (which, honestly it should, just not in the condition) then i would remove the title of restoration and repair and just go with repaint. Also, there was no use of etching primer, water sanding, or casting repair. I'm sorry. I am aware that you have limited resources, and i've seen some of the creative things you've been able to accomplish with that in mind, but in this case, it was hurried and done wrong. You could always do what the British Army used to do - assemble everything and then paint the whole thing! 'If it moves, salute it. If it doesn't move, pick it up. If you can't pick it up, paint it.'
Great video. My restoration failed when everything was finished by bad valve :// Do you have any idea how to get it out? I had no luck to unscrew it...it maybe needs some special key for it...
That’s not restoring that’s disassembling cleaning repainting and new gaskets. If the compressor doesn’t compress air good due to bad rings or faulty disc or reed valves then you’re still going to have the same problem.
Wow I didn't see new Valves or honed the cylinders and just seen that the rings are not staggered so your going to have problems building pressures parts good god sealer on head gasket is for real !!
im sorry.. but i think i missed the 'oil leak'. where was it and what has been done to 'repair' it? is it really necessary to 'restore' this? looks fine to me.
No, No, No :-( you can do better than this. Learn how to make proper gaskets, hone the cylinders, and replace the piston rings. Properly cover the gasket area with masking tape before you paint. Please invest in paint stripper! Get some hand held wire brushes. This had so much potential. I really hope you learned from this and please do some research on how to do something before you jump into it, it will not only save your money, but time also. AND you wont get any comments such as this. Good luck.

Compressor pumps do indeed have valves my friend. Spring/disk, flapper, finger, reeds, etc.
@@TheBeaf if there are no valves then explain to me how the air does not return back through the inlet when compressed? They certainly do have valves.

he is going halfway with a sole called rebuild he didn't hon the cylinders and with glazed cylinders the blow will alot Good luck with this !!
