I feel like this kit/mobile suit is going to have a gimmick where the arms and legs get switched around somehow. The arms seem to follow leg design philosophy (short top, long bottom, guard at end) white the legs seem to follow arm design philosophy (relatively same length top and bottom, no guard at attachment point). I'm interested to see what comes of it. (It also kind of looks like a gorilla.)
Saw a japanese gunpla video where they switched the lower legs for the lower arms(and vice versa) and it actually looked well proportioned, so I have to wonder what's going on there.
I also saw MJ2005Gundam also try this, and it looks like this was the original form Nonetheless anyone getting TR6 Woundwort vibes from this guy’s big gun, butt thrusters, and thicc thihs?
I'm really into the odd proportions, I think its something we need to see more of in general. The extra long arms with the beam saber wrists is especially cool making use of its shape to gain the edge in a melee fight or maybe even holding the enemy at arms length preventing it form hitting the thorn while its wrist sabers pierce through and finish it off.
I’m gonna go back and rewatch the first season for this, but going off of the dubbed prologue, the official english pronunciation of Lfrith is “Elf-rith.” tbh, I kinda like it.
Missed opportunity for the show to call it the "Gundam Gullinkambi" or "Gundam Fjalar".... ah yes, the "Roosters of Ragnarok" from good ol' Norse mythology. ^ I mean, unless one of those names will be used for its inevitable *_upgrade_* in a future season. :3

This design is right up my alley, long arms on an otherwise stocky character has always had an appeal to me. Probably influenced by how i grew up with the latter half of Bionicle G1, where the arms and legs used the same parts pool and more often than not resulted in arms that stretched to the knees if not farther.
1:40 maybe its because the ur and the thorn gundams were designed by takayuki yanase, who worked on many designs for build divers re:rise like the gundam tertium/seltsam, gundam rase-two-ten, alus earthree gundam, gundam shining break, etc... and he also designed the gundam dynames 😁

Edit: for those who may not get the joke, Aoi Yuuki's character Hibiki Tachibana from the series Symphogear is affectionately referred to as a hamster by the series' fandom. Hibiki also happens to be a magical girl who has crushed gundam-sized enemies with nothing but her fists.

Height comparison, this thing is even shorter than Chuchu's Demi Trainer. So if you put it beside the Penelope it will be more like a chick because Penelope is THE Gundam Chicken.

Finally the other!! So far in the series the Ur and Thorn are my favorite mobile suits. Is it odd both seem like they could combine together to form a better proportioned larger mobile suit? As much as I would want both kits I am very patiently waiting for the FM announcement. With the FM Aerial out now, I can only imagine we will get announcements of more from the line pretty soon within this year, much like they did for IBO
I've noticed that most Gundams in The Witch from Mercury have access to the use of Gund-bits. Likewise I've noticed that we have not yet seen the Ur or Thorn utilizing this ability. Could Thorn's appendages be the Gund-bits?

Serious missed opportunity for bandai to make a super sentai-style combiner Gundam which would almost certainly sell twice as much Gunpla, because tell no lies, the Lfrith Thorn is not so popular compared to it's better proportioned sister suit, the Lfrith Ur... Although it probably would be, if it was a necessary component to make a mega-Gundam.
Guys the back part of the "wing" part that I think it is broke, so I just added it onto a stand and made it similar to the Michaelis like yk, a turret?
i bet there will be a third kit that combines the parts for the two, with double the back cannons. also, if you had 2 of the thorn, you can have with with both long arms and legs, with 4 beam sabers on all limbs
@@adriflux7704 much respect, but I personally would have gone for slightly grayer or more muted tones to match the vibes of the anime. They’re meant to be brutal and warlike, but the colors just don’t reflect that.
frame of lfrith really versatile. ur and thorn from heavy modified lfrith preproduction. although from hg kit. there no part look same with lfrith. for aerial originally white lfrith with different armor after 21years. and made sense why calibarn being abandoned as a test machine and just being the only prototype. hope calibarn also had kit. if not hg maybe fm, better mg

Alrighty so I finally figured out why on the gunpla box it say’s Lfrith on the box but it says Rufurisu in the anime (on sub). So the jist is if you translate Lfrith in Japanese it translates to roo-bris. This is also the same concept with the banagher, banaji confusion. I’ve figured this out because I used google translate to translate Lfrith and Banagher in Japanese.

But knowing Bandai, they'll probably make it a P-Bandai release. 2:20 I personally don't mind stickers as long as they're covered up by a clear piece at the very least. 10:04 I wonder why Bandai is using c-clips so often now. Is it a cost cutting measure?
I love the proportions and design, but C-clips should never be allowed. They could have added 1 more piece for each leg to sandwich the joint in. The 00 MG 2.0 kits are 99% of the way from being SSS teir, but the C-clamp for their necks (and Kyrios' shield) just hurt. Stress-bending thin plastic clips over a bar is a detriment, not an engineering marvel. I'd love to do a kit bash with this thing, though. I love the torso and arms, while the legs can be modified into wings or something.

Yes, they can be switched. I noticed this as well and did some research, apparently they are interchangeable at the forearms and the calves.
IIRC they can be switched insofar as the HG is concerned. Whether that is intentional or not still remains to be seen though

Unlike power rangers/super sentai mechs, the pilots don't share the same color as the mechs. But i assume like pr/ss mechs, they meant to fuse.
