I actually live in this town and it’s so much different looking them this video. Now there is a big bj wholesale and a brand new Dave and busters. It’s also now called Oakdale commons. It could be better but I love it. My grandmother has many collections of news articles and history saved on this building.
it looks exactly like the video, because that is footage of it. what did u think it was fake? also he mentioned everything you just mentioned did u actually watch it?
@BartM-w3u I also live here. It is very different now and that's a good thing! Burlington, shown at the end, has moved across the river. Dave and Buster's has even opened. Of course, this video was accurate back when filmed, but the great news is that Oakdale Commons continues to grow!
It’s kind of surreal to see a video on something local to me, and I think this was well made. It’s true that since 2017 the mall was just kind of existing with nobody going there, but it’s been successfully revived. When the house of sport opened, it was the first time I’d gone there in many years. Miss the Victoria’s Secret though…
Oakdale Commons is doing well. The Oakdale "dead mall" videos posted a few years ago are quite misleading. I did a recent walkthrough of Oakdale Commons and posted the video to my channel, if anyone is interested. The multi-use concept is (IMO) the only way the small-and-mid-tier malls can survive. Glad to see that a childcare center is coming, along with nearby housing. There are several empty spaces to fill, but occupancy is much higher than it was two years ago.
I spent way too much time in this mall as a teenager in the late 90s - early 2000s. It was a slow death. I don't think I've been in there in 10 years or so, and the last time I was in town a woman was killed by a hit and run driver in the mall parking lot. Not very appealing.
It is staying enclosed. Only BJ's has exterior access. The rest of the Commons can be accessed from inside. Too cold around here to make it an outdoor mall (and we have a large and successful open air "mall" across the river.
It's nice to hear some good news about a mall for once. Thanks for mixing it up!
I'm gay too buddy lol

That looks like a nice well maintained mall, I'm glad that someone is breathing new life into it.🙂🇺🇲
Great Video! Im glad this mall is reinventing itself to keep itself alive!
Feed big Bertha used to love that game as a kid
Nice mall!
Very nice ❤❤❤❤
I’m glad to see one of the local malls is at least trying to stay alive.

Same, as an older teen/early 20-something. I started to get to know the Nail Plus folks by name!
i remember back in early 80s opening a bank accnt there but cant remember the name of it, i think i still have my bank card for it somewhere though.
Marine Midland?
So is the mall being demalled or are they going to try to keep at least a portion of the enclosed section?

No mention of Beer Tree? What gives?
We have two walmarts here, we dont need the oakdale mall anymore.
Everyone always says things like that.
yeah lots of gross wal mart people here unfortunately
We need more places other than Walmart to buy more cheap Chinese crap.
