Used to travel to Vermont on a regular basis. Got to know the locals well, and their maple syrup. The real maple syrup is known by the locals, and would be “AAA” rated in stores, and unaffordable. The lighter the color, the greater the purity. It has its’ own flavor and does not put you teeth on edge like sugar does. Great stuff, and can be used on almost anything to sweeten it. Go Green Mountain Boys!

US made maple syrup tastes like freedom, but is filled with more corn syrup than maple extract. I’m only buying that A grade sweet Canadian ichor of the gods

Nah, I'm still going with good old 100% Canadian Grade A Maple Syrup. All 4 variations Golden, Amber, Dark Amber, and Very Dark.

Quebec is losing ground because of the influence the maple syrup Cartel has on the industry policies, (small) producers and potential startups.

That is incorrect. Quebec is losing ground because of geography. 85% of our territory is too high in latitude to produce maple syrup. Only the St-lawrence valley and south of the River has ability to produce Syrup. the Vermont and New Hampshire are quite literally a Maple Forest and they have just started to realise the advantage they could have.
The "cartel" as you say is there to stabilise Maple Syrup price and ensure livable wage for all member. Just watch in a few year all small producer of Vermont are going to get bought out by the bigger one because USA is a capitalist hellhole.
