If you needed a 4" slump & had a 4.5, you shouldn't have added water seeing as how you were already too wet. Generally it tightens up when you get to the job site depending on how far it is. Looks like you had a 5.5 when you got there from adding 2gallons. Im assuming your load has water reducer from what you said in the beginning. I dont really enjoy driving a mixer tbh. I drive a front discharge & the hours are jiat ridiculous. Different schedule literally every day. Anywhere from 12am-8am. Im always exhausted 🤦🏽
Better in washout than on the job! Not a fan of dry batch. Here in NYC we have central mix. Keep it up young buck. I’m delivering concrete 26 yrs. Union job , it has been good . Made mistakes, learn something everyday. God bless.
I’ve been on the labor end of concrete (specifically shotcrete) for the last three years. The company I worked for shut down and so now I’m going to start driving for Ernst, a concrete company here in Georgia. I’ve seen a lot of drivers and I have to say it seems like you are a passionate worker and person that cares about your craft… I love to see it and I think and believe it’ll take you far. Followed and will keep up with whatever else you post in the future. Awesome content.

I'm from Dublin Ireland and I work on Concrete Pump's over here CEMEX was over here in Ireland for a bit but they left around 2010 because of the crash looks like they are big over in the USA.
There the biggest cement company here in America. They bought out RMC that's who hired me and lots of other companies to become the biggest. I was a CEMEX driver 15yrs in Vacaville CA. I was number 9 out of 30 drivers in our plant only girl to.❤ my job just didn't like working at CEMEX 😊
It's good that you made a spill at the washout station and not on the job site. At the job site it would be worse and probably the workers would have laughed or yelled at you and said you don't know what you're doing lol. But it's all good you live and you learn. Keep up the good work young man, many young folks like you are not working and taking life for granted. Much respect to you, you're setting yourself up for having a great future making bank. Don't forget to save and invest. Much luck to you.
@@loveroftruth8148 it's not bad at all. Once you pick up how to slump a load, you'll be good. I was a mixer driver but then they put me into running a plant, now I do a little bit of driving/running plants/taking orders. The WORST part of this career is the hours but once you adjust to the constant changing schedule, you'll love it. It'll be the best worst job you've ever had lmao.
@@jonathanmontgomery7675 haha yeah I hear the hours are ridiculous. That's the only thing that discourages me from this lol. Was it hard for u to balance work and family time?
I always left the yard with an extra inch and by the time i got there it was usually perfect. All pedning in how far of a travel. You vould also add water during driving to 😊
2 gallons ?? That not going to do anything to change the slump. But props to you for being safe than sorry. Be careful on them jobs taking it out over the ordered slump. I know +/- 1in but u said u were a 5.5. If asked always say the slump is what was ordered.. make them decide to slump it
With HRWR it will. I think that's what he meant when he said "a chemical to make it wet" in the beginning of the video. But if it was already a 4.5" & they asked for a 4" idk why he would've added any water to begin with....
When I need a 5.87 inch slump for 15 yards I use 4.3 gallons of water 2.4 inch slump for 4.56 yards with 8.45 gallons of oil mixed in the tar with 5 percent rock added to the 4.5 inch slump on the total of 5.21 yards..
Hit the off switch on rear control to off. Drum said not today and kept discharging till i stopped it with the lever probably about 1/4 yard on the ground at the pump
Im learning might get a good job doing same thing. Your page teaching me alot. Can u speak more on the different slumps n how you read them n make changes. Also the different materials/mixtures?
It's all about dialing in that slump gauge and looking what's in the mix and also how far your drive time to the job is and what the temperature is outside. If they have a percentage in there of calcium it'll absorb all the water you put in it. If you're driving far to the job on a hot day and you know you'll be going up some steep hills and you're pouring with a contractor who want's all his slumps at a contractors measurment (inside joke) you'll know to add a shit ton of water to it. Also it's not bad to reccommend contractors to start using delvo on those hot days. It'll buy that mud some time.
Easiest job in the world and you're making it look hard. Smack your trainer then smack your dispatcher for allowing you in a truck. So many things you should be doing differently. Unreal whoever trained you. I'm the number 1 driver for my entire company 2 years in a row now. I've only been doing it for 2 and a half. What does that tell you??? Not to mention your truck looks terrible.

If the truck is rocking really bad after you get loaded very dry. You can listen 👂🏾 because the sound will let you know how dry.
