Thanks for the walkthrough. I agree on all of the feedback points you mentioned. The software looks impressive and has a lot of potential, but the customization options are quite limited and should be improved and expanded. For example, I'd love to have a custom cursor option. I hope they add more branding options as well, or options to add overlay text boxes, images or call-to-action options before exporting. One more thing I'd love to see is a blur option to hide certain parts on the screen. Also, when you record a computer screen, it would be great if it zooms when you change the format to mobile, so you can see more details on a mobile screen. I'm not sure if it does that. Another cool thing would be if we could record mobile screens using an app. And how about 120fps? Oh well, I hope their team reads this comment section. Otherwise I might forward it to them. For us Windows users, Screen Studio is not an option, so I welcome alternatives like FocuSee. The one-time cost is also a big plus.
Excellent Review - There are some very needed (easy) features that need to be added ... such as turning your webcam off and on, etc. Otherwise looks promising. Hopefully one year from now improvements/features will be put in. Definitely a buy for most users
As a lifelong technical illustrator, graphic designer, and project manager working with giant clients, I've observed that these levels of shortcomings are attributed to one of the following 3 issues: 1. Budget 2. Timeframe 3. Management making very poor decisions, or being out of touch with their employees or end users. But nearly always number 3...or numbers 1 and 2 wouldn't be an issue in the first place. I'd estimate that Focusee is approximately 1.5 to 2 years away from being an ultra stable and feature-rich top contender for this market. But that's only if they get it RIGHT...starting now.
Hey, Dave. Hope you are doin well. i came across your other video about your studio setup, that was a very nice and practical setup. can you please create another video about your latest setup, specifically about your camera body and lense with settings you are using in this video. Gonna Subscribe you now. Great work overall.
Actually Screen Studio is way overpriced for the things it does. For the price it is a shitty program. With the functionality it has there are much cheaper solutions out there. Lacks lot of features. And very important it doesn’t record all audio and video sources on separate tracks like for instance Screenflow does. Why is that important? Your microphone doesn’t sound as good as you think it does. Second, your talking head looks not as good as you think it does. Like the sound it needs post processing in an app like Davinci Resolve. Which means a file export with separate tracks in order to load it in like DR. You cannot do that in Screen Studio.
First -- this video is about Focusee, not Screen Studio. Second I don't think Screen Studio is for you, but that doesn't make it shitty. You prefer more post production options, while others don't want minimal post production. I am well aware of ScreenFlow and I have been using Telestream products since 2008. ScreenStudio is anything like ScreenFlow and for many people, that's a good thing.

Good suggestions!
*Thanks a lot for your great work and your very useful reviews!*
Thank you, glad you like them!
Great review Dave
Thanks!

Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your comment. 👍
Great review! Let me know when Straight Up Square goes on tour.
Thanks Steven!

@@dave-swift Wait…people don’t AGREE with one another on TH-cam, do they? 😂
I am doing this all wrong. This is why my engagement numbers are down. 😅

Thanks BTS, yeah a desk setup video is overdue. When I made this video I was using a Sony a6400 with a sigma 30mm lens.
I have since upgraded though.
@@dave-swift Thank you for sharing this
The email gate does not look to be accessible. There needs to be a submit button for the email gate, especially for screen readers.
Yeah it seems real alpha, but it’s not nothing.
What software are you using to record this Demo?
I record my screen with Cleanshot X and edit in Final Cut
Nice tutorial. Thanks Dave. How hard would it be to execute the zoom feature so effortlessly in professional video edition tools like Premier Pro?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Screen Studio a Mac only product?
Yes it is
Hey Dave - can you do a review of Ishowu v6?
Maybe. I usually only review AppSumo Select tools. They have the buyer protection policy. More risk with non-select tools!
Does it have the teleprompter option?
No prompter!
"Straight up square" 😂
🤘🎸
I think it's pronounced 'focus -see' :-) "foh-kus-see"!
It's a bad name either way! 😅
