  • Found yourself in a situation where you need to quickly pull everything off your phone's storage and onto your PC? Well, this is exactly what you're looking for.
All you need is ADB (Download below) and your phone to have Developer Options enabled, and USB Debugging inside of that.
    Download ADB: developer.android.com/studio/...
How USB Debugging is usually enabled:
    - Open Settings, and select “About”.
    - Tap on “Build number” seven times.
    - Go back, and select “Developer options”.
    - Scroll down, and check the “Android debugging” or “USB debugging” entry under “Debugging”.
    Timestamps
    0:00 - Introduction
    0:24 - What you need
    0:39 - Download ADB
    1:16 - Running ADB
    1:55 - Exploring files
2:29 - Pulling files to PC
3:32 - Resuming from an error

Thanks for this , I've been trying to copy a 67.3 Gb DCIM folder from my Android phone to my PC. Windows explorer constantly fails with errors and never gets to 100%. this worked first time and was heaps faster.

Thank you so much. I had like 30 tabs open on stackoverflow, reddit, and many forums and other pages and this was the only one that got to the point. I did it on Linux. I enabled debugging on the phone, then I just did "sudo apt install adb" and followed your instructions.

Incredibly helpful and straightforward. This is guaranteed the fastest method of getting files from ur phone to a computer. I would like to notify everyone tho that in selecting specific folders like he did in the error part, *the back slash did not work* and what did work was using **forward slashes** for the folders. Also another tip is if CMD is *stuck* in "building file list" and you are not sure if it is copying files, check the destination folder first before you cancel (speaking from exp). CHEERS!

I followed the procedures very carefully, and I noticed something else: There is a file in the (ls) list called 'storage', and in that file, in many cases, you get _both_ the folders from your device's internal (shared) storage _and_ from your microSD card.
    But there is a problem...
I had no problem using 'adb pull storage' on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and AGPTek T06S MP4 player; but with my T-Mobile REVVLRY (same as the Motorola Moto G7 Play), Platform Tools can't extract the folders from the devices internal storage, whether I run 'adb pull sdcard' (folders from internal storage) or 'adb pull storage'. Only the folders from my microSD card are extracted.
As it turns out, the only way I can grab the folders from my internal storage is to remove the microSD card and disengage access to the card (i.e., stop the device from searching for the card). Either that, or I format the card to be accessible by any device; in which case, when I perform 'adb pull storage', files from both my internal storage and microSD card will be extracted.

What to do if I`m not able to enable USB debugging because my Phone is stuck in a bootloop?

  • @CookyMonzta

HEY! Can it pull a phone's ROM and apps and back them up? I have noticed that, even though my phone (with barely anything installed) has 6GB used, the backup methods I have tried recently have pulled no more than 700MB, most of which comprise of photos and Web pages I have stored on the phone. No apps, no system files.

heres my dilemma: samsung s7 tried to find deleted video by rooting first, that didn't work properly had to do a factory reset to get phone working again ( bad usb port on the phone caused that issue). So will that deleted video still be on the phone memory somewhere if I follow above procedure? ( s7 I didn't have any backup and no deleted files restore on that phone)

    • @mkdcg
      @mkdcg ปีที่แล้ว

Any further writing to the phone after you deleted the file will make it less likely to recover. Doing a factory reset afterwards probably overwrote the file you're trying to look for.

Exactly. Mine was a note 4 (I still have it, but had to buy a weird, gigantic samsung S21 that is huge just to remain working!) and I can pull the sdcard OUT and put it in my laptop. What I need is in /data and elsewhere, and abd pull simply isn't doing the trick.Anyone with
knowledge, please advise! I don't want to dirty flash a ROM and risk losing my actual real important data in /data and elsewhere (and TiBu is an EPIC failure; what a disappointment! Am I supposed to get a rooted Note 4 and HOPE TiBu can "restore" my phone to "day it died" conditions? Buy a new phone line for a month?).
I want my real data back. (And I haven't had time to think about it.. I'm pretty triggered about this. Sorry.)
