oh The Recluse is excellent ! there is a wonderful series of his abridged works from BBC 4 all hallows etc narrated well, Anthony Head does an excellent "The REcluse" ......"...Shutters up...shutters down.....we are what we are..." hahah " capital ! capital ! " ....this house wasnt haunted ....it was INFESTED ...Richard E g. rant does All Hallows, slightly abridged...one of my favourites to go to sleep to ...also the one he follows an old man from a tube station.is on you tube..cant recall the name but its in the recommended " Manfred Arcane " channel...oh EDIT : its called "Bad Company "
What's the difference between a video and a podcast ? These folks need TH-cam ad money, don't expect them to ditch TH-cam just so you can do some weird podcast thing that doesn't make sense. Everyone raves about podcasts, and I don't get it. You can't make money off of a podcast.
Beat it,its free great entertainment let the guy get paid and you can skip them after a few seconds,only loons would complain about a free awesome story
De la Mare is without doubt the most overrated scribbler of " uncanny " tales. His prose style is tedious and plodding ; always hinting at some stunning revelation - which generally never arrives. I defy anyone to read ' The Wendigo " or ' The Willows " without losing the Will to Live..? He spends countless pages creating an atmosphere using the most self indulgent , cliche ridden descriptions as in this story here and then.......a flat , non committal ending which the reader is left to draw his own conclusions.
Are you sure you aren’t thinking of another writer, ie, Algernon Blackwood? It’s as well to be accurate when commenting, or one can end up sounding silly.
