Doing my first shoot with horses in two weeks and these tips were super helpful! Gorgeous shots.
Kaitlyn Winstead good luck. So much fun. Are you a photographer.
Just “for fun!” Not professionally!
Do not shoot in sunlight! Nothing looks worse than shadows. Use strobes if needed. You also need to understand how horses stand and move.
Great video
This was realy good. Thanks for the tips.
Hi, yesterday I did my first shoot with horses, it was a practice trial to gather some good images for my new portfolio. I went in with big ideas of what I wanted to create but then I was faced with two horses who just did not stay still for longer than a second. By the time the camera focused the horse had moved and turned around. The owner was handling her horses who kept fiddling and turning around, basically I found it a lot more challenging than I expected. Any advice on what to do if you are dealing with this kind of horses? I did manage to bring home a few photos I can work with but nothing I had visualised and planned in my head....all those beautiful curvy poses were...impossible ....Useful tips are very welcome!
Wow, thank you for sharing your technical knowledge.
odetotove absolutely. Thanks for watching!!!!!
Thanks for the tips. I have a friend who is a pro farrier, and wants me to take some shots of her hot shoeing a horse (smoke, fire, etc.). I also have a d810. The only lens I have is the Nikkor 24-85 3.5-4.5 G ED VR. I also have a altura flash unit but, have not really learned much how to use it yet. Do you have any tips for me to get amazing shots, particularly capturing the smoke?
What lens are you using? I was going to use my 105mm and my 85 mm
Camera settings?
Is that the 70-200 mm nikon lens?
What lense is your go to for portrait and for action? I have a Nikon d850-is there a mid-level priced glass that won't screw up shots?
The 70-200 2.8 is a go-to for almost everyone I know l
Him I have a “fancy camera” me I have a iPhone 6😂👍
OMG! This is sooo bad!
