What a wonderful New Year's celebration. But wait⚠️⚠️⚠️ Those sounds are not from fireworks ⚠️⚠️⚠️ Sounds exactly like the wars between drug dealers gangs in my hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This was entirely TOO MUCH! My neighbor stood outside at 5pm and emptied a magazine on a 45 right outside my door. It sounded like it was coming from my living room! This is indicative of a very dark and dangerous ANGST flowing through the population.
@kentGrey I remember all the Devil's night fires years ago of destroyed and abandoned houses. A 45 is loud with no ear protection. My husband shot a squirrel with a 30 06 while we were deer hunting. Now those are real loud. My ears rang for several hours and hard to hear. My hearing test went well and still better than normal with higher notes. Rest was normal.
Seems like an appropriate celebration of the new year when done safely. I'm sure it's been happening since the inception of this country. There was probaly less violence on new years compared to any other average night

About 10 years ago, there was a story in MI about a guy in his 20s walking around at an outdoor graduation party and immediately dropped dead. The cause was a bullet that they determined was fired into the air a few miles away that came down and struck the top of his head.
@altonsteel5145 Could be m80s and fireworks bigger. I remember half sticks of dynamite that would leave a hole in the street. Stuff like that and tannerite is used to blow up stumps.
