    I've watched a couple videos on this subject as I have to do this job tomorrow. Your video was the most comprehensive one I've found, thank you.

    I’ve done the whole job just by taking the coolant fan out and it comes right out you only have to go underneath the vehicle to remove the belt in the one alternator bolts on the bottom; it’s real easy to take the coolant fan out also

      I did the same thing. seems easier removing the fan and taking out the alt. from the top.

      @@jasonphillips572 yeah it's easier. The only disappointment was the alternator cost me 370.00 without core. The most I ever spent on one.

    Got my 2015 Dodge Caravan's new alternator spinning like a record! Just in time for that Mardi Gras season Uber/Lyft driving money. Couldn't have done it without your video. Many thanks! 🔧🚙💨

    Excellent video! I usually watch several TH-cam videos before I do a job I haven't done before. This one was the most helpful. Various comments were also very helpful.

      Aloha Mr. O
      It is always a good idea to watch multiple videos and read approved documentation (workshop manuals and etc.) before doing a job. Some videos may emphasize different things, change the order of operations or describe a completely different method of getting the job done.
      I elected to go the route I did even though it takes longer because as vehicles age plastic and rubber parts become brittle/hard and are more easily damaged when moved/removed (think cooling system parts). Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for the great comments.
      Mahalo,
      Maverick Mike.

    I did it without removing any of the studs. If you pull the fan up a bit, you can slide the AC compressor off the studs and over. The alternator will slide off of the lower stud once the top bolts and the nut on the stud are removed. It's a tight slide, but it's easier to slide back onto the studs that hold them in place.

    Do you have to remove the stud bolts from the A/C compressor, or can you leave them in?

    • @jaylbro
      @jaylbro 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, yea... You have to remove the stud bolts from the A/C compressor. Lol

      Unscrew the AC compressor studs from the engine block. I took the studs out of the compressor which gave me a bit more room to get the AC compressor out. I know there is not much room to work with there. Good luck.

      Aloha Robert,
      It certainly is a confined area to work in. If necessary remove the radiator but be careful to avoid damaging any of the cooling system parts.
      Good luck!
