A 21,000 space is going to look empty with 7,000 in it. There will be more next time. The alternative was two nights at the Apollo but they wouldn't do that at the end of a 77-date world tour. Problem with Manchester and to a lesser degree Birmingham is that they haven't got a 'mid-sized' arena unless you count Manchester Central which ain't that good and Castlefield which is a summer venue. BTW at 8:45 Floor comes in an octave too high which is why she can't get the big note. I thought it at the time. Compare Wacken, see what I mean.
@@ManinManchester Floor Jansen is a classically trained singer, there is no way she would "come in an octave too high", and yes, I did compare it to the Wacken concert and she is pitch perfect.
But she did Derek, listen again. At 8:44. And it threw her. I've heard Tarja screw up on The Phantom. It can happen to anyone. And that's why I don't think they will perform 'Shoemaker' live. Floor herself has said the final section took multiple takes. And that was in a studio. It could go badly wrong on stage.
@@davidbentley4032 I don't think she came in too high, but she hit the note using pure head voice and alot less power behind it than say at Wacken where it was a more mixed sound and stronger. Her voice was just a little tired here so she eased off the gas on that note (to make sure she could hit the next notes) and as it was a lighter headier note, it sounds somewhat higher in tone.
I heard the reason why the t-shirts were so expensive was because they had limited supply because they could only bring in so much to the arena due to the Manchester bombings which happened in the very same arena. Don't know how true that is though. I was there! I was near the front of the stage. Loved every minute of it!
that was a really good night at least we got to see marco before he left
I was here and also sat near to your camera as I have exactly the same recording from same angle lol
We were in the disabled section
I got frisked by a very nice security Lady on the way in. We were sitting right behind you.
I was there!!! :-)
I was supposed to be there, had the tickets, transport, everything but had to cancel just a couple of hours before I was supposed to catch the train.
It was good, but pretty empty... and the t-shirts cost more than the tickets!!
