Today's hair tutorial is this Easy Updo, it's a simple up-do perfect for long, medium length hair. This bun hairstyle would be perfect as a wedding hairstyle, a prom hairstyle, graduation, homecoming, and even as a work hairstyle! This hairstyle is a little harder on long hair, but great for medium length, and shoulder length hair.
You guys absolutely LOVED my last super simple up-do. I just checked & it has almost half a million views, that’s crazy! Especially with Valentines coming up, I thought I would share this easy up-do that I can’t even believe is so simple, and looks so great.

Okay. This is the first hair style that I have EVER been able to do (other than a pony tail). Usually it turns out terrible and "easy" is usually a lie. This actually was easy and it stays. Thank you. There is a good chance this is what I'll do on my wedding day. whew.

MissyB 75 depends on your hair and where you are in the world. If you have fine hair that doesn’t stay curled in humidity you will just look like a wet dog. Or if it’s 40 degrees it will also look and be uncomfortable
I was able to do it also! I wore mine this way to a funeral today. My hair was dirty and I didn’t have tome to wash it. Everyone commented on how pretty my hair looked. This is an AWESOME EASY up do!! ♥️♥️

My hair is just past shoulder length and I'm so pleased this actually worked! My 'roll' is a bit tighter but it still looks good. I only need 3 bobby pins. Perfect for a wedding I'm going to. I'm 41 and still learning how to do my own hair! Thankyou xx

Hey! I don't know whether you'll read this but I just wanted to say thanks! I needed a good easy updo in an emergency and nothing that I saw was working (for me ie. I'm not too good with hairstyles) Then I saw this, tried it and done! Not as perfect as yours but I'd say I got around 85% on my first try (which was my only try). So thanks a lot!!

Thanks for the tutorial! I did this for a date night and the hairstyle lasted perfectly the entire evening (wich was 7 hours) even though I didn't use any hairspray
Turns out my hair is way too thin for this. Below my shoulders but just not enough of it for it to work 😞

I love this updo! I did it for my prom in 2017, and now I’m coming back to it in 2024 for my cousin’s wedding and it still holds up. Super easy to do and looks great no matter what length or thickness your hair is (mine is medium length and thin, so usually styles like this look so flat on me, but this one is full and lovely). Highly recommend!

dude this is a horrible idea for people like me who have flat as heck long hair. I avoid these because anything that goes like that on the back just pulls my hair incredibly down and it's like i have a bald head. Also I have manly features so only hairstyles that are puffy and volumus or curly.. sad. I was hoping this was my holy grail for me but no..

Ok. Look really easy but I’m doing this for 30 mins still doesn’t look right on me.
There is no way you are doing this unless your hair is past your shoulders. Mine is shoulder length and I would have to pull the pony on top of my head to have enough hair left over to wrap around and tuck in.
I really want to do this to my hair.. but the problem is.. whenever I try to do this. I think my hair is so tin to the point that I cannot cover the hair I put inside.. its so obvious from outside.. what am I going to do?

It only looks that good because you have very pretty hair and it is already prepped, it has volume and some waves in it. I dont believe it air dryed like that

How gorgeous! I did a quick search on pinterest for, "Black hair with red streaks" and there are so many beautiful examples! I personally love when the streaks are underneath the top layer and peek out! Keep me posted on the results!

I thought my hair would've been long enough but omg my updo did not end up looking like that from the back😂 Front looked pretty nice though. My hair is not long/thick enough to slay, prolly should purchase some extensions...

I gotta tell you- I nearly chopped off all my hair recently because the length has been driving me insane. It’s at that point where pins just aren’t cooperating even with a simple bun. Then I found this and what can I say? It works with my stupid hair and it STAYS in place way better than a typical bun with 80 pins. So my hair thanks you.

Thank you so much for posting this. Been looking for an easy updo to change up my look as I've always struggled with hairstyles. I can't even plait my own hair properly. The only adjustment I've done to my hair (as it's really fine) was tie the ponytail higher than yours, for some reason it just doesn't work any lower. Followed the rest of the tutorial as normal and it worked!

Hi Alex: I am growing my hair out (haven't had long hair in adulthood). Can you please suggest the brand of elastic to use? Also, when should bobby pins be used vs. hair pins (the ones that look like a two prong thingie)? Thank you so much!
Be careful, growing out your hair is addictive! Haha, I keep saying I'm going to stop but I just want it longer, and longer! ... I just use Goodie hair elastics, ones without any metal (www.goody.com/Products/Hair_Accessories/Goody_Ouchless_Elastics?colId=e811bd33-8535-491b-832c-31a656f55e8e&c_id=1a7ea079-c44c-481e-8d02-db7cd0b32277). Sometimes I use hairpins to hold onto the sections, and bobby pins to really secure the style! Hope that helps.
