I don't see a mauve either. Maybe maroon or russet? It's definitely a brownish burgundy.
I watched the Chanel tutorials on these blurry quads and I'm definitely interested. These are really for a monochromatic look with matching liners and mascaras. Very different to me. I think all the new Chanel quads are more specific than traditional quads and if you try to use them outside of the intended look you can be disappointed. Kind of like the le blanc collection ones....those were meant to be lighter and brighter. and people who wanted to force them to be deeper didn't like them. It would be hard to force these monochrome ones to be other than that as well.

I played with this quad on a friend today. I totally agree with you- trying to make all 4 shades work for 1 look made it look muddy. I then tried using the bottom 2 shades and it looked so much better. I also think that priming the eyelid with a brighter concealer made a HUGE difference.

I was reluctant to order this palette online because the color story indeed was not mauve enough.... The deepest shade in the quad appeared to be a dark brick red which I didn’t think 🤔 should be in a mauve color story! Thx Michele for all of your wonderful reviews 😃. Xoxo 😘 Deb

Exactly the lightest shade is not light enough. It needed an iridescent shimmer IMO. Blurry Red berry!!! 💋🥀

I felt the same with the blurry blue. I had to import another color to brighten it a bit. Definitely fall colors but I love them!
I need a bit more mauve in that pallete! Although you look beautiful with that eye makeup, the shades are kind a similar and you're totally right about timing of launching. But they are really very beautiful!

This quad looks very similar to the Candeur et Experience quad in all matte finish. I have so many Chanel quads that I am going to skip this one as I feel I can dupe this using the Candeur et Experience and another quad in my collection to get a similar look. I agree it is more of a fall look, but I like it. Thank you Michele for this video and I look forward to the Blurry Grey review.
The red in this quad looks like the red in the Candeur et Experience. I agree with you I don’t see any mauve BUT it’s looks good on you.
Oh, good to know you'll review the Cruise Collection soon. As always: its already been available in Germany for quite a bit, but I want to wait for your opinion on it. I'm especially keen on the bronzer duo in medium. And the new stylo ombre contour liners, which I love! The only item where I come close to your collection, because I actually also own all of the liners 😄

Michele, have you tried or will you be getting the Sisley blur expert luminous matte powder? I am very curious on how it performs compared to the La mer sheer pressed powder.

Regardless of the name of the quad, I LOVE this look on you (not that you don't always look great)!!!!
Maybe I have the right eye color for these (dark green). The colors are a definite mauve leaning tone in contrast. I used fewer of the colors - these seem to lend themselves to two shades on the lid, then a swipe of their matching or contrasting liners right at the lash line. If you watch the videos on the website, the aim is definitely a darker eye. Often a pencil for the crease, then the shadow with the gloss over it for wetter/glossier rather than the shimmer shine glitters of late. It’s a different technique but really suited to my coloring.
Before I forget, you wanted to hear about the Sisley cucumber cream. The texture is somewhere between the Koh Gen Do plantscription night cream & La Mer’s original cream. A little heavy for a Florida summer, but think I’ll love it in winter. Stays a little tacky longer than I’d want for makeup application, but dries down & sinks in eventually. Say... 5-10 minutes? My skin looks fabulous in the morning. See if the texture works for you, but it’s a thumbs up for me as a night cream. Too heavy for day - I’ll stick to La Mer or Koh Gen Do if I need to apply makeup right away.

TF Body heat any day of the week honestly. I have Body Heat, best purchase made. These new Chanel formulas are difficult to work with. I have the Chanel Tisse Cambon And literally the only thing that works with these Chanel formulas are the sponge tip applicators, I am not joking. Anika Vida is an excellent Department store high end beauty reviewer and she too uses the sponge tips. Lol. Use brushes to blend it out. Sorry long rant, but TF Body Heat please. Aniko did an amazing review where she mixed different shades in the TF together to create new nuanced shades.i am so copying her!
As usual, thanks for being a makeup guinea pig! I liked the way this look came out. Vampy. That said, I think most are going to need to pull in another shadow palette, or singles to make this work. I rarely create eye looks from a single quad or quint, so that doesn't bother me. It looks like there might be enough of a color variation when looking at the pans, but on the eye it was painfully obvious that there isn't. I was a little sad when the "mauve" color blended away the red, lol. I guess you need to lay the satin/matte shades down first? However, I have deep brown skin, and I can never picture reddish shades looking good on my eyes, at least not for everyday. I'll check it out at the counter.. eventually :)

You're totally right about the color name confusion. Nonetheless when you look down I can see a bit of dark mauve on your lids and globally you look lovely with this quad
I think your look turned out just STUNNING young lady!! You look gorgeous!! Wow! I wish I had your eye shape- it seems so easy to create beautiful looks on your eyes. I’m a tad jealous! ;-). I think the color story in this palette is like a red leather rustic sort of look?- I prefer the Blurry Green quad, overall and want to pick it up because it’s so different than anything I have. But don’t apologize, your look, overall, worked, and that gorgeous lip pulled it all together.

Sorry missed your call out for which Chanel Blurr palette to do first. Looking forward to your gray review. On the Chanel site, it looks a lot like Tisse Essentiel, more taupe-ish than gray. But, hoping the formula is creamier. Now that I am into Tom Ford, Suratt and Viseart, I really find the Chanel textures too dry and not creamy enough. Hope this formula is creamier than the Chanel palettes I have. The look you created with the mauve looks gorgeous. Agree it is a winter look. Would look great with a LBD or a fabulous black cashmere sweater for a winter evening out.
I find these newer quads to be so much better than all their Tisse quads. The formulas are less powdery and glittery. They're creamier, smoother and have a more refined finish. Thx Andrea!! xoxo

Agreed. With my other Chanel palettes that contain a red shadow in them, I'll pass on this Mauve one. So far, my Blurry Green is the bomb dot com and I love it (even though it rather sooty for spring/summer). I've just opted for the lightest shade and a tinge of the green and it's spring-enough for me! I'm just so curious to see if you'll check out the Cruise Collection Lumineres Naturelles palette and how that would compare to the 9-pan Les Beige they just released. :) xoxo
Hi Michelle, I love this quad. In fact this is the very first red themed quad that I can wear. I have pale skin and I am very cool toned so it does look Mauvy on me)) . And I don’t think it’s intended for multi dimensional looks. There is a tutorial on Chanel.com that gives a better understanding for the idea of this quad. Thank you for your fabulous reviews!

Mauve or not, I think the shades are pretty BUT two are too similar, and I need one lighter shade for under the brow/inner corner etc. Agree w your thoughts.
I have the Blurry Mauve quad. I got it at our new Chanel boutique in the Atlanta area. I think the quality is great, but I have despised both looks I tried to do with it. It comes off super ashy on my skin except for the one reddish shade. I am going to give it one more try, but I am very disappointed so far. I do really love the 228 Vague stylo though
How does it compare to Candeur and Legerte?

I think these shades are very uninspired and are absolutely for the fall/winter. The shades blend together and are really boring. I am sure you have similar shades in your collection - as probably most of us. You did a good job, and you look pretty. Thanks so much for showing us, and I am guessing you are probably going to get the same effect with the grey palette (even though I haven't even seen it-LOL). Caroline K Harrods is nice too, bit more 'touristy' and traditional, but 3 minutes walk from Harvey Nics so you totally could pop in there too. Vegas - wow, would love to visit one day too! For lower end fast fashion and beauty, Primark (flagship stores either end of Oxford St) and Superdrug (they're all over) are worth a peek. Have a great trip!
The red doesn't look so red on darker skin tones, just a very sexy chocolatey colour. You're right, I can't see the mauve because for me mauve leans purple. Again on darker skin tone, all 3 colours except that red brown would lean purple and lean into a mauve tone. I love this quad. A good companion palette to my TF de la crème or even nude dip.

Hi Michelle, I really need to use your technique putting on eyeshadows, you’re so dainty and soft, while I’m like dabbing and jabbing, swiping and dragging like I’m washing my car. It’s not fun being heavy handed, like a bull in a china shop. This palette is interesting, not sure if I could get a soft old lady look out of this one, more like a hot mess on my lids.
Even though the palette is permanent, it's an odd release for this time of year. I wouldn't think to purchase the color story for the spring/summer. I instantly thought of fall.

Great review and great application. On a fair neutral like me, this tone of eye shadow would make me look sickly and tired. On you, the effect is neutral, IMO. Neither flattering nor unflattering.
It does look terrific on you and the quad has beautiful shades. However, I don't detect anything mauve about it. I agree, looks more of a fall look. I'm finally over my cough. Hang in there, you'll be done with it soon.

I’m not mad at this quad. Right up my alley buuut the title of this palette is misleading for someone who is looking for mauve palette and also for someone who is looking for a warm palette. I will be picking up this palette. This also reminds me of the new Tom Ford palette that just came in “Body Heat”
I, thankfully, did not get any feels when I first spotted these blurry palettes on Chanel’s website. But I did buy nearly everything from the Cruise 2019 collection. I’ve purchased nearly everything from every collection from the past two years. So I’ve decided if I’m gonna carry on this way, I’m no longer allowing myself to buy any other new makeup items from other brands. My makeup money is now entirely controlled by Chanel 😬

Oh no, this color story is quite disappointing on you. They blend one into another and it is all looks like one colour which is... why did you buy a quad and not one eyeshadow? Nope. Also I felt like that lipstick was wrong for the eye look that you've created, I felt like the muted nude shade would compliment that mess a bit more haha. Have a great day Michele! :)
