You’re right about Sp. Attack Specs healing allies more than Rescue Hood (mainly when it’s fully stacked), but Wise Glasses most certainly heals allies less than it. I find it very hard to believe something that gives you 7% special attack would outheal something that automatically gives 10% more healing/shields to your allies, even with the +39 extra sp. attack taken into account. I normally run Rescue Hood as a complimentary item on healers I also run Sp. Attack Specs on and end up healing a crap ton with mons like Clefable, Comfey, Blissey, and even Umbreon (which I run Attack Weight/Rescue Hood on). Sure, Sp. Attack Specs is definitely a better item for healers, but Rescue Hood still compliments it super well (same also goes for Rescue Hood and Buddy Barrier). And hell, it’s still the safer option if you don’t want to run the risk of dying a ton by inting for stacks.
Tip for those used to mainline Pokémon: mixed attackers don't exist in this game. If the game says that its a Special Attacker, using Attack items basically does nothing. Even if the move is a Physical move in the regular games (like Liquidation), on a Special Attacker (like Inteleon), the damage is calculated using Special Attack.

I know the community hates Leftovers, but I use it on Sableye since he's the only mon who is out of combat long enough to get some use out of it. Especially after the numerous nerfs it's received, it's attack output is abysmal and so its main purpose is to stun the enemy like crazy, and Leftovers just helps you stick around for longer, especially if you stack with cookie (leftovers heal according to max HP).

I think they did based off of movie Mewtwo who can mega evolve into y without a stone. Why he can't do that in the main game but Rayquaza can, I don't know
I used my super item enhancers on Muscle Band, Razor Claw, and Scope Lens... could be worse, I suppose. At least my main(s) ('Zard/Zacian, more Zacian now) can make use of them.
I get that rocky helm is normally really bad on pokemon. But it does a surprising amount of work lately if you use solo Q slowbro since so many people are using Mewtwo X. With his many stun locks and auto attacks, it kinda works since you will be PASSIVE while getting hit and unable to respond. Since you cant do anything besides heal against this damage, rocky helm paired with focus band and amnesia do quite a bit in to Mewtwo X and Zacian, surprisingly. Tho i also recommend finishing the set with twisted spoon so Surf and Scald can chip away at enemies. Your end score may look lower than if you had better dmg taken & healing with defensive items or overal dmg dealt with an offensive item, but you will realize you are winning the important team fights since Rocky helm dmg cant seem to be negated and the opposing team will be locked in their attack animations forcing them to lose hp. Also, theory crafting. It might seem that Lapras may be built to use Rocky helm too, since there is that exceed of 10% hp 2 sec cooldown requirement for Rocky helm. Will need further testing

Using Slick Spoon, focus band, and Rocky Helm, this combo makes for the perfect recipe for slowbro vs mewtwo x. Slowbro would normally check a mewtwo x in this current meta. But Slowbro needs to be lv 9 before you can check with your own unite move. So smart solo MewtwoX foes will focus you BEFORE you get your unite. Rocky helm is specifically for when you are under your goal and a Mew2x tries to pull or poke you under goal. Slowbro has the pefect combo of Scald, burn, rocky helm, amnesia, heal, goal heal, focus band and potion if needed that will check Mew2x prior to your lv 9. This is for fighting against laning or jungling Mew2x that is lv 6-8 vs your slowbro lv 4-6. He will have higher exp, stats, and dmg than you as well as a 10% life steal. But this is exactly where rocky helm 5% per 2 sec comes in. You WILL out last a solo q mew2x in this exact exchange. So then you can mitigate the lifesteal from mew2 and ensure you can reach lv 9 more safely than exp share or using choice specs, vs mew2x. Its very very niche In other queues, a choice specs, buddy barrier or exp share is better usually
YEEEHAW. What an important video. I am currently on veteran 4. And I see often players with special attack based pkmn and they use physical attack based held items. Vice versa as well. It is annoying.
There are some cases where some of the physical attack items are better on special mons just cuz of their secondary effects, but it’s only really scarf and muscle band and those are also really niche. Anything else is just crazy, dumb or both.
I have never seen a super item enhancer and I'm level 50 with over 7k matches....and when I started I leveled Drain Crown and leftovers up all the way not knowing what I was doing, I wish I could go back and not do that but hindsight is 20/20😅
Buddy barrier does have less value depending on how much max HP your Pokemon has, most defenders, all-rounders and supporters make the best use of the shield. I would say that attackers specifically could run amp depending on the mon.

I play Focus Band, EXP Share and Buddy Barrier on Mamoswine to this day. Somtimes i like to change it up to Focus Band, Muscle Band and Weakness Policy but only if i feel spicy or i think our Team doesnt have enough Damage. FB, EXP and BB is just really simple, consistence and it fixes up some of Mamoswines weaknesses. Focus Band fixes it lack of sustain, Buddy barrier fixes its lack of direct Team Utility and EXP Share is just a must on everylane with an Attacker or Allrounder since they need the EXP. And that should always be the case ..... dont u do the Supporter/Defender lane .... i swear to Arceus
Funny detail about Drain Crown, it's borderline essential in the Panic Parade because we don't have means to heal our mons beyond the 2 berries near the Tinks.
Self-heal mons are best. I don't even need berries at a max stat boosted Dragonite. If you get all the Panic Parade boosts you cash in your points for, you won't need heals. I think the top 5 picks were Dragonite, Decidueye (for damage anyway) Urshifu, Zacian, and Mewtwo X.
Funny, most of the strong mons in Panic Parade have lifesteal or some other built-in healing, and the recovery thing from the shop also gives ridiculous healing
How do you feel about drain crown on a Dragonite running outrage? I've been playing it for awhile and the hp recovery on all those boosted basics gives me a ton of sustain during matches

I recently started stacking items. I did not know they were permanent buffs and only temporary. I didn't think it was that good. But not I stack often and am doing way better now
Could you think of the attack speed stat as a level gauge of sorts? Like each point you put towards attack speed goes towards leveling up your attack speed at certain thresholds?
While I do understand now that Pokemon unite doesn't allow player to buy new Pokemon right away but but after this inflammation for resources ,you can't buy new Pokemon for atleast 2 month or soo
Defender items would be so much fun if you could see your opponents before loading into the game. The problem wirh tank items in mobas is, that they are ment to counter the enemies damage. If you know there is a lot of physical/auto attacking champions on the enemy team rocky helmet is great. But since you can't tell what your opponents will be it's a gamble in Unite. That's why everyone is just stacking HP instead. Sad tank noises

I still don’t understand choice specs. Mew has light screen solarbeam; and the item has an internal cooldown. If you use light screen; does it pop the choice specs bc it triggers when you use a move. In a move with multiple ticks; or big burst + ticks; does it work on the full move duration Rapid spin/spout = does it trigger on rapid spin or when you use spout while spinning; does it work the whole time you are spin/spouting ? I avoid using it bc idk
Non-damaging moves don't activate it It activates once, and not many moves have long enough duration to activate it twice. It can activate twice. If Rapid Spin does damage, it should proc. Multi-hit attacks only proc it once, unless the attack goes for longer than the cooldown of the item.
Ironically, Leftovers and Rocky helmet are one of the best items for mainline game playthroughs. Rough skin garchomp especially loves rocky helmet. Or even Snorlax with leftovers. I think the reason why the devs don't care in giving them the actual ability they do in main games, is simply cuz they would be way too good in fact broken on every pokemon. Especially on undying defenders like slowbro/trev/umbreon/lapras/goodra. Imagine this, Leftovers healed ur pokemon like 20-25% of every hit (dmg number) ur pokemon has taken. And rocky helmet is basically crustle's unite move lmao but it's in the form of an item.
It's not just the items, it's the moves too. That was my issue when I first started playing. Do want flamethrower, or fire punch l, well I'm Charizard so flamethrower. But fire punch is a dash move. They didn't really explain much.

Most of the times, we players have to see how much dmg has been buffed or nerfed through discord or reddit patch notes. That's why when new players see that, Wow, fire punch has been buffed and they play it, when it has like only few percentage of dmg increase which is neglegible. But the game vaguely tells the dmg has increased.
@@utsavmaheshwari859dragapult gets an increased cooldown on both items when it uses its unite move for balance which is why those aren't used on dragapult. The same will apply for blaziken so the items aren't worth
Good guide as always, there's just 2 things I disagree with. Firstly, there really isn't anything better to spend your tickets on than items enhancers (other than the items themselves). And secondly, Assault Vest is a bit overestimated in the tier lists here imo. Pretty much every item around it is going to be better and more generic/useable for multiple pokemon.

The biggest issue I have currently with Pokemon Unite is that most pokemons are too expensive so you either need to grind as hell to buy them or pay real money. I can live with all other things such as overpowered pokemons etc but it's becoming boring to play with same pokemons again and again as I'm unable to buy new ones faster without spending real money.
@keerthyaron7677 2100 coins a week, so 8400 a month. Plus achievements. So yeah, it'll take awhile. One thing to make it faster for new players is to buy the ones you get for free, before you unlock them. NinetailsVenasaur, Cinderace, Greninja, Crustle, and use them to get their achievements, and then when you would unlock them for free, you get all your coins back, which gets you more mons. Also use the free pass mons too. Everyday you get new pokemon for free for the day. Get their achievements while you wait. Alternatively get the 2100 coins, then stop playing for the week.

Slick spoon doesn't work very well with hyper voice because hyper voice reduces the enemy's special defense a lot so with the spoon you're gonna deal less damage with every hit,its still good if you wanna play it but I dont reccomend it

@@Warlord_Megatron Spoon and Hyper Voice do 2 different things. Spoon has SpDef Pen, meaning it ignores a portion of the stat. Hyper Voice, like lots of other moves, has SpDef Drops, whitch decrease the stat directly. If you combine the two, Spoon has diminishing returns since Hyper Voice means there's less SpDef to ignore. An interesting note here is Chandelure's Infiltrator passive gives SpDef Pen, whitch stacks with Spoon since they give the same stat. I hope you learned something!

Spoon as you said drops special defense of mons by let's say 20% and 30% for hyper voice. So hypervoice will deal damage considering cinderace's base special defence stat to be 70 as it dropped the base stat of 100 by 30% reducing it to 70. Now, spoon reduces the 70 base stat by 20% reducing it to 56. So, now the damage should be calculated taking cinderace's special defense stat to be 56 instead of 100.

How do you feel about drain crown on a Dragonite running outrage? I've been playing it for awhile and the hp recovery on all those boosted basics gives me a ton of sustain during matches

I have been play unite since release and then I quit for a year afteri returned i had no memories on what i did at the beginning and i saw assault vest,left overs and scope lens were level 30 ane i was a great rank(yes i used super item enhancer for them and i only use scope lens)

I play the game in italian and the attack weight for example says (quando il pokemon segna un gol il suo attacco aumenta +0.1%) (when the pokemon score it's attack increase by 0.1%) and i see that in eng it tells +12 not the %. There are other diff between language vers??

leftovers are only usable on some sableye sets
I recently started stacking items. I did not know they were permanent buffs and only temporary. I didn't think it was that good. But not I stack often and am doing way better now
I did use the super item enhancer before watching this video but yeah, I played a bit before and I'm glad I upgraded the good items

Could you think of the attack speed stat as a level gauge of sorts? Like each point you put towards attack speed goes towards leveling up your attack speed at certain thresholds?
While I do understand now that Pokemon unite doesn't allow player to buy new Pokemon right away but but after this inflammation for resources ,you can't buy new Pokemon for atleast 2 month or soo
Defender items would be so much fun if you could see your opponents before loading into the game. The problem wirh tank items in mobas is, that they are ment to counter the enemies damage. If you know there is a lot of physical/auto attacking champions on the enemy team rocky helmet is great. But since you can't tell what your opponents will be it's a gamble in Unite. That's why everyone is just stacking HP instead. Sad tank noises

i used my three lvl thirty upgrades on leftovers, ass vest, and score shield :( what a mistake

I used them on Scope Lens and Razor claw and I use those quite often so it worked out alright

I still don’t understand choice specs.
Mew has light screen solarbeam; and the item has an internal cooldown.
If you use light screen; does it pop the choice specs bc it triggers when you use a move. In a move with multiple ticks; or big burst + ticks; does it work on the full move duration
Rapid spin/spout = does it trigger on rapid spin or when you use spout while spinning; does it work the whole time you are spin/spouting ?
I avoid using it bc idk
Non-damaging moves don't activate it
It activates once, and not many moves have long enough duration to activate it twice. It can activate twice.
If Rapid Spin does damage, it should proc.
Multi-hit attacks only proc it once, unless the attack goes for longer than the cooldown of the item.

Ironically, Leftovers and Rocky helmet are one of the best items for mainline game playthroughs. Rough skin garchomp especially loves rocky helmet. Or even Snorlax with leftovers.
I think the reason why the devs don't care in giving them the actual ability they do in main games, is simply cuz they would be way too good in fact broken on every pokemon. Especially on undying defenders like slowbro/trev/umbreon/lapras/goodra.
Imagine this,
Leftovers healed ur pokemon like 20-25% of every hit (dmg number) ur pokemon has taken.
And rocky helmet is basically crustle's unite move lmao but it's in the form of an item.
It's not just the items, it's the moves too. That was my issue when I first started playing. Do want flamethrower, or fire punch l, well I'm Charizard so flamethrower. But fire punch is a dash move. They didn't really explain much.
@@mattevans1643 Yeah, i agree that pokemon unite doesn't really explain moves and show it's dmg.
Most of the times, we players have to see how much dmg has been buffed or nerfed through discord or reddit patch notes. That's why when new players see that, Wow, fire punch has been buffed and they play it, when it has like only few percentage of dmg increase which is neglegible. But the game vaguely tells the dmg has increased.
Muscle Band, Rapid Fire Scarf, and Energy Amplifier are the items I use my item enhancers to lvl30

Does anyone know the interaction between Dragapult and Unite Move items like Buddy Barrier and Energy Amp? I wonder why more players don't use them.
@@utsavmaheshwari859dragapult gets an increased cooldown on both items when it uses its unite move for balance which is why those aren't used on dragapult. The same will apply for blaziken so the items aren't worth

@utsavmaheshwari859 Dragapult moves recharge once you get a KO (including the Unite). I don't thing Energy Amp is needed.

They need to remove the "When the pokemon is not in combat" on some of the items because it makes the items very useless most of the time.
Good guide as always, there's just 2 things I disagree with.
Firstly, there really isn't anything better to spend your tickets on than items enhancers (other than the items themselves).
And secondly, Assault Vest is a bit overestimated in the tier lists here imo. Pretty much every item around it is going to be better and more generic/useable for multiple pokemon.
So should we use super item enhanser on weekness policy or not.

Honestly all Drain Crown needs is to heal against Shields. Its basicly 10% Physical Lifesteal and thats something a few Pokemon really like.
It feels so odd and unintuitive that it doesn’t work against shields.

@@coruscanta Well no need to defend what is absolutly stupid. Pokemon Unite is an ok Game at best and a bad MOBA at worst. We still play it and the Gameplay isnt that bad but everything that doesnt happen on the direct battlefield (Items, Skins, teh Shop) is a fucking nightmare. I have still hope and i have still fun playing it - but it NEEDS to improve certain aspects
Needs to work on shields, yes. Also needs to work on max HP damage (Garchomp and Aegislash) and on true damage (Tyranitar)

Why would a Sp. based pokemon need an Attack boosting item like Muscle Band? Let's say Slowbro because that's who I use.
Muscle Band, while it gives Physical Attack bonus, its main effect is dealing additional damage with your auto attacks, which every 'mon uses.
@@SilverScizor753to add to this, the additional damage scales off of the targets remaining hp and is percentage based.

The biggest issue I have currently with Pokemon Unite is that most pokemons are too expensive so you either need to grind as hell to buy them or pay real money. I can live with all other things such as overpowered pokemons etc but it's becoming boring to play with same pokemons again and again as I'm unable to buy new ones faster without spending real money.
Play the game every other 2 weeks only.
Just have multiple accounts, it takes years if u want to unlock every mons , if u f2p
@keerthyaron7677 2100 coins a week, so 8400 a month. Plus achievements. So yeah, it'll take awhile. One thing to make it faster for new players is to buy the ones you get for free, before you unlock them. NinetailsVenasaur, Cinderace, Greninja, Crustle, and use them to get their achievements, and then when you would unlock them for free, you get all your coins back, which gets you more mons. Also use the free pass mons too. Everyday you get new pokemon for free for the day. Get their achievements while you wait. Alternatively get the 2100 coins, then stop playing for the week.

Woah. Choice specs have an internal cool down? Been playing since a good bit before Zacian and legit didn't know that. Just dropped from my main instantly (mage Sylveon, now gonna run spatk specs, wise glass, slick spoon
Slick spoon doesn't work very well with hyper voice because hyper voice reduces the enemy's special defense a lot so with the spoon you're gonna deal less damage with every hit,its still good if you wanna play it but I dont reccomend it

@@Warlord_Megatron Spoon and Hyper Voice do 2 different things. Spoon has SpDef Pen, meaning it ignores a portion of the stat. Hyper Voice, like lots of other moves, has SpDef Drops, whitch decrease the stat directly. If you combine the two, Spoon has diminishing returns since Hyper Voice means there's less SpDef to ignore.
An interesting note here is Chandelure's Infiltrator passive gives SpDef Pen, whitch stacks with Spoon since they give the same stat. I hope you learned something!
@@0verl0rd67 Tell me if I'm wrong. Let's say we got cinderace vs hyper voice. Let's also assume cinderace has a special defense stat of 100. Spoon as you said drops special defense of mons by let's say 20% and 30% for hyper voice. So hypervoice will deal damage considering cinderace's base special defence stat to be 70 as it dropped the base stat of 100 by 30% reducing it to 70. Now, spoon reduces the 70 base stat by 20% reducing it to 56. So, now the damage should be calculated taking cinderace's special defense stat to be 56 instead of 100.
