GyroPunk brother thanks for the reply but that was a year and a half ago lol.. i tried getting into monster train on the first few episodes but it just felt like slay the spire mixed with autochess and again it was a resident sleeper for me. excited for this new spelunky 2 series tho. on all 3 fronts. im expecting it to be a nice reoccurring game for GG
I usually put segments like golf and wreckfest aside for moments when I can't sleep so I don't have to pointlessly stare at the screen for an hour long
yea fair enough when i say skipping these segments in a waste i'm really talking about the audio. While i don't sleep to them they are great to do other things to
NL was messed up because he didn't understand that the Druids can fuse with 2 as long as another Druid type is on the field, while everything else fuses with 3. So he began to think all characters fused with 2 and it looks like he got upset/embarrassed after that. Rob seems to have picked up Autochess like a boss though.
Highly unlikely. Listen to NL's voice during the start of the first match when he's winning. He sounds excited and eager to play. He also sounds happy when he starts summoning 2 and 3 star monsters. He doesn't start to find the game boring till he begins to lose. The short time to make choices isn't his strong suit either, if you've watched his xcom or any other strategy game like that he likes to take his time. The addition of the wonkey controls just adds to his frustrations... This game is the exact kinda game he likes, he just doesn't like feeling rushed, which makes him feel stupid, which made him feel like he can't understand the game. And since his bit going into the game was that he wouldn't understand it, he double downed on insisting he couldn't get it. NL himself has stated in the past that most of the games he doesn't like, isn't due to them being bad games, but really due to the fact he is bad at those games. He doesn't find the game boring, he finds losing boring.
@@CaoSong I really don't think you should look into this as much. The simple fact is that NL doesn't like the game and he won't be playing it again. That doesn't mean it's necessarily a bad game, but even if would think it's a bad game, that shouldn't matter to you. It seems to me that you really like this game and thus will defend it, but the simple fact is that NL - for whatever reason - doesn't like it. Now I don't mean to be rude, but couldn't you just accept that and let him?
"Combine 3 of the same hero to level it up, if you have a certain amount of the same race or class on the board, they get a synergy" "THIS IS THE MOST COMPLICATED GAME KNOWN TO MANKIND"
The "nl didnt TRY to like autp chess" is the stupidest argument and one of the reasons nl hesitates to play games with that kind of fanbase (undertale, for example)
"Fuck it dude." Is a really healthy mindset. Edit: and the only way i made it through the damn misplays in autochess. Just about every move you made drove me crazy because it was always directly at odds with all of the advice given by the people teaching you to play.
That generational thing is definitely true. Kids like to think they know what they're talking about when it comes to cultural food. My siblings say tacobell is garbage but my grandma says it's pretty good despite the fact she knows how to cook awesome Mexican food.
this is the man that took a new character to elite in smash in a week. also the man who hasn't beat STS A20 in like 400 episode and they think auto chess is the game for him?
Rob suggested Northgard and you didn't play it?!?!? What the heck! Northgard was the best RTS of 2018! Definitely one of the top ten best RTS games of the last decade!
Ryan goes into Autochess without any motivation to learn. Refuses to listen. Clearly doesn't want to learn. Then shits on it after it's over because he refused to learn it. I feel bad for Cobalt and Austin for trying it out.
I refuse to believe a guy as smart an NL is so terrible and doesnt understand the simple things. Obviously I dont expect him to know what ANY of the units do but ..come on..
He's been pretty vocal about his feelings toward autochess. You shouldn't be surprised he refused to learn, especially since that's what he does a lot of the time.
The game's opaque as a brick, and the others were making the classic "well-meaning helpful friends who already know what they're doing" mistake of telling him what to do without explaining why (unless you know the reasoning, "never reroll" and "you need these specific characters to win" seem like mutually exclusive pieces of advice). Given how random and stacked this feels, even just watching it, I'm not surprised he mentally checked out.
I thought that autochess segment could have been something, but Ryan started doing the Nick thing where he already decided he wasnt gonna like the game, so he actively tries to have less fun. I'm thinking its a get as many of the same class as you can type of thing, ill have to try it out, it looks fun if you're actually trying to enjoy it.
Jesus Christ. I get that NL's thing is that he doesn't understand any game with any kind of complexity except Isaac, but watching him bumble through auto chess as he half listens to people trying desperately to teach him is painful.
What complexity are both you and NL even talking about? What heroes do you get? It's random. What enemies do you fight? It's random. What attack patterns do units use? It's random (or at least out of your control - the lack of focus fire was painful to watch). What strategies do you use? If you want any success you use pre-defined buy patterns and one of like 5 synergies. It seems like a solved game from what Austin said in the video. According to him optimal play is just saving money, snagging synergistic heroes and rerolling before you lose. Riveting gameplay! After my first exposure to Autochess in this VOD I honestly feel it's like one tier above pulling the lever on a slotmachine. Way too much impact of randomness, way too little actual control over the outcomes. I don't think Autochess is too complex, it might just be a shit game with bad controls (at least that's my impression after watching 1 hour of it).
I'm very conflicted about this docky
Auto chess is a resident sleeper tbh but I love listening to Ryab mental chaos
You’ll get a kick outta monster train stream yesterday
GyroPunk brother thanks for the reply but that was a year and a half ago lol.. i tried getting into monster train on the first few episodes but it just felt like slay the spire mixed with autochess and again it was a resident sleeper for me. excited for this new spelunky 2 series tho. on all 3 fronts. im expecting it to be a nice reoccurring game for GG
Keep it RLL Respect Love Loyalty it’s just a matter of ryab mental chaos- he played a speed mode and his brain just about fried. Worth peeping the vod
Not a docket I'd usually decide to watch, but that add-on to the autochess swayed me.
I'm with Ryan, I'd much rather watch Tetris over autochess.
They are done with AutoChess at 57:00 you’re welcome
I'm just gonna do a skippy to Quippy for this show
Me as well
skipping Wreckfest is always a mistake. skipping any segment normally is since the banter is the good part but Wreckfest definitely
I usually put segments like golf and wreckfest aside for moments when I can't sleep so I don't have to pointlessly stare at the screen for an hour long

Why do people watch a videogame stream only to pretend it's a podcast?
Every time Cobalt says males and females my skin crawls
When is Tetris 99 NLSS?
Never since commentating over that is impossible and they can't play eith each other.
@@EyeTry203 you damn fool, it literally happens during this docky!
QUIPPERS IS BACC BOIS
Wow ok yeah I agree with all the sentiments about auto-chess now, probably fun to play... but extremely resident sleeper to watch
Thank you egg for saving us from auto chess hell to the blessed tetris 99 land.
Great show. A rare time I watch all 3 hours
A rare occasion where Egg's horrible play has motivated me to try to play a game myself.
EDIT: Ryan was right, Auto Chess is not fun, nor easy.
I didn't leave egg
I'm glad we got auto chess up front. I was just laying down to sleep and that is one big ResidentSleeper.
Four souls > dota 2
Ryan’s salt was amazing to watch during autochess, the sentiment of “just shut up” was great.
That Tetris 99 at the end made it all worth it
a good game for ryan: simple rules, doesnt get complex later, allow him to win first few gaames
sounds exactly like issac to me
Turns out AutoChess is actually extremely boring.
This is my first time seeing auto chess and it actually looks pretty cool. I have no idea what's going on even after watching but still, pretty cool.
Can we all just take a moment to thank NL for not making us sit through auto chess?
I left for the first two segments of the stream. Incredibly cursed.

So he began to think all characters fused with 2 and it looks like he got upset/embarrassed after that. Rob seems to have picked up Autochess like a boss though.
Or maybe he just thinks it's a boring game, and doesn't wanna learn it.
First sentence and it's a residentsleeper for me

Ryan just cackling after Cobalt calls mario shoes with detachable racoon tails art is such a good moment
Austin says don't reroll, NL rerolls five times every turn. NL wonder's why he's losing, Austin says because he's rerolling so much. NL says point taken, NL continues rerolling. NL asks why he's dying.
Actually the lowest possible key S+ docket
Ah, it seems the NLSS crew have discovered custom maps. Nobody tell them about the StarCraft 2 Arcade.
Pretty sure they played starcraft 2 arcade games on the show like a year ago or so, played like a hockey mod thing and some other game modes.
Thank GOD for wreckers and quippers
Dota chess? Big ResidentSleeper. Good thing we're more likely to see a verty+ck2+eu4 docket before we see more chess in the future
Yo Kory when I've fainted from standing up to quick I have weird dreams too
I actually want to play autochess after seeing that segment, looks fun, and I hate dota
Can confirm, 50 hours in - dota autochess is awesome
I like em both ofc :P
The "nl didnt TRY to like autp chess" is the stupidest argument and one of the reasons nl hesitates to play games with that kind of fanbase (undertale, for example)
i heard him say warband is going on the docket no going backsies
I really hope the Autochess is a one shot. It was extremely boring.
Agreed. It's like pachinko except you can't actually win money.

wreckfest is back baby! also i love autochess but not having watched this vod yet i am apprehensive about its value of being a nlss game
I am diametrically opposed to my VOD brethren here, I love this docket.
Justin makes it an auto perfect docket.
its just pokemon defence from wc3 except limited by the dota 2 hero pool and engine not allowing too many units loading
i'm not even mad at dota 2 autochess because egg confusion sold it for me
That generational thing is definitely true. Kids like to think they know what they're talking about when it comes to cultural food. My siblings say tacobell is garbage but my grandma says it's pretty good despite the fact she knows how to cook awesome Mexican food.
The auto chess was pretty entertaining for the massive amount of self flood.
"Wait don't leave" actually made me laugh out loud
Will there ever be more Pummel Party on the show? New maps and Mini Games! I loved those segments.
Is nl never gonna touch smash after reaching elite?
cursed intro
NL's freakin good at Tetris
god tier description
NL tried autochess i will give him that but at the same time he just kept skipping units he needed for upgrades, he wasnt really paying attention.
I love that you tried autochess
NL left before I did Kappa
this is the man that took a new character to elite in smash in a week. also the man who hasn't beat STS A20 in like 400 episode and they think auto chess is the game for him?
Tarky on the nlss. Omg. Wat a show this will be.
It was my 18th bday that day. Wish I saw it live😭😭
Watching this post Super Auto Pets was funny
I don't think you're just matching the characters, but the types that show underneath the character names.
Such as Knight, or Warrior...
Maybe?
No Apex FeelsGoodMan
I coulda met cobalt and pro bro at that micro center dang
So this actually explained more about autochess than watching six different streamers play did.
Personally, I'd be happy to watch Autochess again, so long as NL familiarizes himself with the game a little further before playing.
"over autochess bullpoopie NL" is super refreshing to me. :)
MORE QUIPLASH. BLESS UP
Can I get the auto chess segment from Robert's perspective?
Stellaris is amazing on console so far. I've never been happier
You got White Day and Valentine's opposite iirc.
Austin sounds hilariously drunk at 0.5 speed
I know like 40 people with the last name Bowser? Is that not normally a common name?
Watching NL suck at auto chess is the most I've ever screamed at my screen. Someone please help him and unplug his computer!
Give Auto chess more of a chance. I liked it a lot egg

yeah but even if he learned what to do he just didnt have fun watching units fight other units with literally 0 input
