    I first used these trains in 1982 and it really was an opener and this whole system keeps getting better as the years pass.This would blow the socks of the U.K. Rail system the Spanish mainline trains are a wonderful travelling experience.

    I am making a trip from Madrid to Malaga via the Renfe high speed train and then on to Fuengirola where our AirBnb is located. Is it possible to take this train from the Malaga train station to Fuengirola? If so, do I need to buy tickets ahead of time or can I just buy tickets when we get there?

    • @user-tk3rh5bh8u
      @user-tk3rh5bh8u  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can. The station that you will arrive at in Malaga is Maria Zambrano. The Malaga fuengirola line or C1 has its own platform away from the main line. When you leave the platform look for the C1 and C2 trains. You want the C1 train for Fuengirola. You need to buy a ticket from the ticket machines near the C1 platform. It will cost around 3 euro’s each and if you press the flag button on the bottom left of the screen it translates to english. Things to watch out for, there are 2 trains that operate from this platform C1 and C2. Make sure you are not on the C2. That goes to Alora, if you do make a mistake and get on that train get off at the next stop and wait for the Fuengirola train. The thing to watch is the station is not the end of the line so make sure it’s gaining the right way. The train you want will say Fuengirola on the front and the side. Check the location of the air BNB in fuengirola. There are 4 stops in fuengirola, Carvajal, Torreblanca, Los Boliches and the end of the line Fuengirola central. Finally have a great holiday and have a look at my website for all the attractions in the area www.yourcostadelsolguide.com

    How is the ''Consorcio de Transporte Metropolitano Area de Malaga'' card used with the machine, rather than cash? The card gives a discount when used on buses, is the discount also given for train tickets?

      Return tickets are valid for two trips, one-way and return.
      You can purchase them at station ticket offices or Cercanías self-service machines. Remember that you have a maximum of two hours to start your journey after you purchase your ticket. You can return at any time on the next day.
      Return tickets may not be changed and can only be cancelled at ticket offices in stations within two hours of purchase, provided you have not used the ticket.
