IF It Is The Burial Shroud of Jesus, it won't affect my Belief, IF It Is NOT The Burial Shroud of Jesus it won't affect my Belief. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven

I agree. The shroud is not an essential part of our faith. It could strengthen it if true, but if it's not, I wouldn't be surprised nor concerned for the legitimacy of Christ Jesus' claim.
The one thing that needs to be remembered, is that the face on the shroud is so injured and swollen and dehydrated that all these factors would also need to be removed to see the face at its best and most recognizable form.
@@Cloudssword4U That's right.Jesus had a broken nose, swollen closed eye and wounds from the crown of thorns scratched across his forehead. The AI interpretation is serene and peaceful but does not reflect the horrific injuries perpetrated upon his flesh.

I don't care if it is truly Christ's or not, it doesn't change my fundamental faith. Fact is I don't believe in many relics brought down through time. But it's what has been preserved legitimately that feeds my faith.
I've been a sceptic of the shroud but now I'm convinced that the shroud is a photographic negative picture of Christ's moment of resurrection. This just makes me say "Wow!" I love when scientific evidence backs up my faith in the eyewitness testimony from the past (which should be the primary evidence). Faith and science should always match. our faith should not be blind but based on evidence.
@@AlCapwnd-tb5ow great question. I believe in the eyewitness testimony of the apostles and saints of the early church. The shroud is not eyewitness testimony. It is a mystery but for me I think the scientific findings point to circumstantial evidence that this may be a photographic image at the moment of the resurrection. I realize that is still conjecture. You personally don’t have to agree that is OK. That is my personal conclusion. I’m not catholic but even the Catholic Church hasn’t concluded this is the actual shroud of Christ. Again, I’m just saying combining eyewitness testimony of the early church combined with these scientific finding that is unexplainable I’m open to consider this might be supernatural. I think we can all conclude this is not an artist that made this image.

No it isn't. The Shroud is a fake. It may have been an early attempt at photography, and there is research that backs that. The AI rendering shows someone that looks more European than Middle Eastern. This is just what a computer that has access to 1000s of portraits of Christ, and it created a picture from that. It's not Earth shattering or faith inspiring.
As someone who uses AI and has used it to create many different images of Jesus after I met him during my NDE..It all depends on the AI that was used... also the data the AI was "fed" also what its preferential bias was set at... like more influenced by this race or that race.. That being said!! I had a near death experience 6 years ago and met Jesus personally face to face and that image LOOKS A LOT LIKE JESUS... very close to who I met... well except he was made of pure golden light 😎☀️🙏✝️ #HolyGhost
WORLDMINISTRY. I have had several dreams over the past 10 years and on 2 occasions I have seen someone similar to this face , who at the time I described as looking like Aragorn from Lord Of The Rings. The one dream he smiled at me and held out his hand to me and I held his hand.
@@daphnethornton4829 Vego "the man that plays that character" is a Son of God. He resembles Christ greatly. You will start to see that you will begin to see Jesus in many people that you meet throughout your life. We are being made more into his likeness.. physically (even woman but a womanly version) spiritually and of course mentally.. some more than others. This is sanctification. Sense my death experience I have seen Jesus many many times, in spiritual manifestations, dreams , visions.. His overall look is that of this image in many ways, long brown hair and perfect cheekbones and jaw line more on the slender side, perfect kind and piecing eyes and perfect brow. Nicely bearded face with the beard at a shorter to mid length. He truly Has risen from the dead just like He said.. and He truly is The Messiah, Son of The living God and also Lord God almighty maker of Heaven and Earth in His operation of Father Son and Holy Spirit. We will be just like Him The Lord from heaven as His beloved Children always. Amen Romans 8:29-33 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
That’s how I imagine Jesus. In fact, forensic estimates claim that the crucified man was handsome, relatively tall for his times, slim and muscular with shoulder length, slightly wavy hair (not frizzy), regular features with a narrow, arched nose. 😊
Most Catholics, like myself have known and believed the shrouds existence and authenticity for decades. As far as the AI aspect, I think there are other depictions of our Lords face based on the shroud that seem TO ME to be a bit more accurate and show the human face of Jesus with a bit more personality so to say. I am so glad that it is coming to light for all Christians to see our Lords beautiful face, albeit after his painful passion, For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. God bless you all.
I doubted it at first without much thought, until I heard Dr. Gary Habermas speaking about it a few years ago. After stopping to really consider it though, it makes perfect sense that the burial cloth would still be around. Great relic and cool to see it and it's one more testimony to The Resurrection, which is and alway will be, The Miracle of Miracles!
I’m a Catholic and find the shroud of Turin absolutely beautiful and an image created by God himself🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻🕊️I’m an artist myself and know it’s impossible for this to be a man made image 🙏🏻♥️🕊️❤️I think that the AI version is also beautiful 🙏🏻♥️🕊️❤️

This AI image is responding to prompts more than the original. The bone structure is completely different, the Shroud image has a distinct brow ridge, an aquiline nose, strong thick hair, and a luxurious tash and beard, with a strong lower lip which covers up the corners of the mouth, AI then interpreted that as a tiny feminine mouth, and the large deepset eyes become, anime large. Every. single. time. Because AI has no soul, it produces effeminate sentimental weak interpretations. Jesus was on the road for 3 years, was in his prime, l'm really sick of these frail interpretations, they are utterly disrespectful. Wispy, thinning, split ends? Give me a break!
So I have a life size face portrait of the actual Shroud of Turin face of Jesus. It's hanging right beside me on the wall. Printed on canvas. from the exact shroud.... I sell it on my website for cost, I don't make any money off of it. If you guys are interested in seeing this or acquiring access to it, just let me know and I'd be happy to share. Most of paintings I have seen during my life is simmilar to this image anyway, evan the painting from sister Faustyna vission is simmilar. Obviously Jesus in Shroun image is swollen from pain, cuts etc His normal look is much more majestic😊
Jesus was NOT European. He was middle eastern. It has also been proven that men in the 1st century did not have long hair. I say he was an olive skinned man with short cropped black hair.
@@josephkelleher8820 you cannot say that all men had cropped hair, that's akin to the black Swan fallacy but I agree that he would have had a middle eastern completion
No, the AI version here looks much more like the Jesus of Nazareth movie version. Robert Powell. Oddly enough he also kind of looks like Russell Brand!
the most accurate reconstruction of the face was made by ray downing. it was made by a real professional illustrator and graphics professional. care was taken to extract the 3D image cast from the non-linearity of the projection on the cloth. anyone with a critical knowledge of the principles of photography and image projection must conclude that the ai reconstruction was a simple projection of the planar pixelation of the flat geometry of the shroud. this is wrong. the shroud was draped on a real human body with folds and valleys. the image was a linear parallel projection (infinite distance of focus) on a non-linear surface. the ai did not account for the non-linear contour of the corpse. ai garbage in, ai garbage out
@@jedipadawan7023 his facial pigmentation should have been darker. Like the greeks and yemeni. Probably also sun damaged 36 year old but other than that, it is accurate.
Why they need this!! We’ve seen his face in all churches and it is exactly the same. Without AI we already know the face of JESUS!!! The non-believer they don’t!!!
The Bible says he wasn't physically attractive. He was very average looking. He was the embodiment of humility in his physical form but full of glory and power in his glorified form.
Even if we knew Christ after the flesh, as he was, it would not profit us a single thing! If we knew him after the flesh alone. It’s the obedience, and identification with Christ in baptism in his death and resurrection and him being formed within us by the Holy Spirit, which formed him in the womb, through whom he offered himself up on the cross at his death and who raised him from the dead.
Fascinating! I don't believe Josephus, that Christ was blonde haired blued eyed or completely of African ancestry as myself. That really doesn't matter, He could have been primary green for all I care. But the AI image reminds me of the man who came to me in a dream at the on start of a spiritual crises I experienced as a youth. The rugged features and very deep knowing loving eyes immediately caught my attention. I am thankful that this story came out and was shared. Thanks!
It's absolutely beyond amazing as having a deep fascination to the shroud for decades now. Its incredible that new insights containe to deliver even after so long.
I believe it is Jesus' burial cloth, and I am a 19 year born again Christian. Isaiah 53: [1] Who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm? [2] My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him. [3] He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. [4] Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! [5] But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. [6] All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. [7] He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. [8] Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. [9] He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. [10] But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. [11] When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. [12] I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels. Jesus is coming soon to rapture/rescue His true followers. Maranatha.
Carbon dating has never been worth it. They don't want to do another carbon dating because you have to destroy the piece being tested, and it's not accurate.
Every honest person knows that one and only reason why they do not allow to carbon date it once more and that is because the first time was a successful dating that showed this cloth to be a forgery from the 1300s.
@nikopanen82 wrong. Do some research, The carbon dating says 1400s because they only took the edge of the shroud as a sample, part of the shroud was repaired in 1400s. Second, nobody has proven that this is a forgery. Every researchers of the shroud state otherwise, they speculate and experiment with many things, yet find that nobody not even modern tech can reproduce the image in the shroud.
@nikoapanen82, many of the researchers are atheists or at the very leat unbelievers, why would they not want to test it more with carbon dating? Also why more accurate dating method says the contrary?

I personally think the A.I. probably added too much information based on references found on the internet to really consider it “reasonably accurate”. Of course, there’s no way to really know, so saying “yes” is practically just as good as saying “no”. It takes nothing away if it isn’t, and is merely “pretty cool” if it is.
It's only an 'artist's' guess based on the flattened image - not the geometrics of a cloth laid off a face - and rather western data pumped into the model. It's a nice picture but it's not accurate. The work of Ray Downing and Dr Giulio Fanti from years ago have already give us a full body cast and been tested to ensure the cast fits the image on the shroud through 'rescanning.'
One of the posts said there is no beauty or transcendence in the image. Isaiah 53: he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him." so yes there is that

The problem with the Carbon dating arose from the fact that it was conducted on edges of the Shroud which had been subject to exposure to fire and had been reconstructed 😮

I’m with ya but that’s not quite accurate. Learn about the oral creeds experts agree date to within years, and even within months, of the cross. Evidence that they ore-date even the earliest written sources they’re found in with high reliability. Powerful info. Also.. I believe the best arguments show early dating for the gospels as well. But yes: the Pauline epistles 1 Thess and 1 Cor (and others) are early indeed. No one else has anything like it.

What's kind of exciting to me as a Christian is that the image looks like exactly what we expected Jesus would look like based on the earliest depictions of Him. What's exciting about that is that it gives historical corroboration to the man's existence. To think that some medieval artist would or even could create an accurate depiction of Him based on ancient rudimentary 2d iconography, then reverse engineer that into a photo negative that only AI in the 21st century could turn back into a useful image...at that point you have to start grasping for straws, like aliens or demons or something. Given the entire evidence, the most logical, most simple conclusion is that the man genuinely existed in the first century, that He was famous enough that enough likenesses of Him were made that even 2,000 years later the whole world had an accurate preconceived notion of what He looked like, and that something supernatural happened to His body, that is beyond our ability to explain. Of course it's of no actual consequence what He looked like, and of course we shouldn't give the shroud or the image any significance, but as a witnessing tool it's powerful.
There was also a fire at some point, and that compromised the results of the carbon dating. The image is absolutely amazing. I believe the image was made on the shroud during the physical resurrection of Christ. The energy that took place from God. The AI generated image is quite beautiful.
If this is a supposed 13th century, fake and painting with real blood or however, they propose that it was done, why would it be done as a photo positive? Who would be able to make a positive this way? And how would they plan that one day there would be able to be a photonegative that would show even more detail and 3 dimensional than the photo positive? That is one of the reasons I know it is true. Praising God and my savior Yeshua ישוע Jesus from Israel. 🇮🇱🙏🏼🇮🇱
Do you think that The LORD Jesus would like this AI image of Himself half naked too being plastered all over the media ( well Christian sectors of the media in particular) ? I disagree. And I think we need to remove our emotions from this. I have followed the findings on the Shroud since 1978 and have always been a skeptic. Iam a believer too, yet my reaction to the AI image when I sized it up was: It's Him. I felt it like a punch to the gut. My reaction shocked me and.i am especially convinced the appearance of teeth through the lips, which shows that there was a radiant power from WITHIN this body.
Something about putting our LORD'S image on youtube doesn't sit right with me. It's reminiscent of when Jesus went into the temple at Jerusalem and flipped over the tax collectors trays for "turning Gods house of worship into a den of thieves". Same way for trying to get views by claiming to allow someone who normally would have to wait to see His glory in Heaven, can see it now in a video. Imo, seeing the face of my Savior will be reserved for me, should I pass His judgement when His Kingdom comes. Having one more treasure waiting for me in Heaven such as the unveiling of the Glory of Jesus is a blessing only He can give. Please don't think I'm trying to be contrary, just my opinion i felt compelled to share. God bless you all.
I don't know about this AI rendition but there have been other 3D recreations based on the Shroud's image. The Mystery Man Exhibit recently had a great sculpture based on it too. Not a fan of AI in general tbh but the Mystery Man exhibit does look like a better more accurate display either way. Also important to note, the Divine Mercy Image and Akiane Kramarik's Prince of Peace paintings both match the facial structures and of the Shroud. Some good videos on that here. Edit: Oh yeah I remember watching that Pints with Aquinas episode! Great one.
I find this interesting, but whether it is real or not is irrelevant to my faith. I still believe with all my heart and soul that Jesus came to provide a way for us to be saved and reconnected with God
do you know about ray downings image of Jesus? he spent a lot of time to make a 3d model of jesus based on the shroud and its holographic info. then had a sculpture made of the face then scaned the sculpture to verify it, and it matches the image on the shroud.
Deniers and Believers will argue this forever. Deniers don't want the shroud to true (for a number of reasons). The same for Believers. Their "experts" will argue this Always to a standstill.
I always found it odd that most of the artistic renderings of Jesus show him with long hair.....didn't the bible say that men shouldn't have long hair or something to that affect. I can't remember correctly but I think it was in the book of Corinthians.
To piggyback on what Jeffrey said, the rabbinic literature of the time indicates that men should have hair no longer than their shoulder, although if traveling it could vary. Jesus being a traveling teacher makes it more likely for him to have longer hair, even using the standards of the Pharisees of the time.
In the video the fact was stated that there was no ability to get Jesus’s DNA, but what about Eucharistic miracles? Is there a way to compare the elements of the blood on the shroud, DNA, to the blood from a bleeding host?

How many times has the Bible been changed? Over 30,000 changes were made, of which more than 5,000 represent differences between the Greek text used for the Revised Version and that used as the basis of the King James Version. Most of the other changes were made in the interest of consistency or modernization.
Some written accounts (assuming they were true- For example Pontius Pilates wife’s letter) say his hair was shorter. And other people who testified to witnessing Him and can remember His face more accurately say His face similarly looks more closer to the famous “Prince of Peace” painting. Either way, still a stunning picture
"Moreover, it is interesting to point out that our analysis has shown that, in order for the TS fabric to be about 20 centuries old, it should have necessarily been kept at an average secular temperature of about 22.5 ± 0.5 °C and an average relative humidity of 55 ± 5% for 13 centuries preceding the XIV century..." We don't know where it was before 1354, therefore, we don't know how old it actually is.
„Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.“ Exodus 20:4-6
I agree that we should be careful how we regard an AI generated image, BUT from my understanding this is not that far off from a photograph, albeit a blurry one. I’m guessing this AI is using some sort of facial recognition database to interpret facial features and bone structure from the image.
To say that an image can't be beautiful if a computer is used to generate it, is like saying that a painting can't be beautiful if a paint brush was used to paint it.
One particularly noted review indicated that contamination with "modern carbon" (likely from the two intense fires) could have skewed the dating, with estimates that one sample contained up to around 30% modern carbon, another around 40%, and the third even higher.
Well when the fire burned it, they repaired it with new cloth woven into the old. That is the area sampled for the carbon dating plus, the carbon dating was developed by prof at the U of Washington, he was the ONLY person allowed to use the carbon dating machine. He had ONE student he allowed to see him use it. I can't believe that with that information, and the fact that they ask how old an item is thought to be, it is just actually a guess.
Why don’t you bring up the fact that the cloth collected was from shroud was from a corner which had been amended in an attempt to repair it. So this sample was not apart of the original shroud.
I’ve shown this information about the shroud to one person that I’ve been trying to talk about Catholicism with. And he calls it a dollar he doesn’t even want to consider that it could be an authentic shroud that was on Jesus. he does not want to even entertain the idea that it’s anything other than idolatry. So there’s some people out there no matter what you show them. They are going to turn themselves away from Christ unfortunately.
I am a Christian and am I comes to believe in the shroud. Question about the blood stains: dead people don't really bleed. And this shroud was placed over him several hours after his death. Does the blood seem to match what you'd expect to see from 2-3 hours of drying and coagulation? Also the bleeding from the crown of thorns was many hours before he even died. It doesn't seem plausible that the blood would soak into the cloth. How do we square this?
This picture fits in with what the prophet Isaiah wrote about the coming Messiah, that He was a normal-looking person. Isaiah 53:2-3 includes this statement about the Messiah: "He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain." Isaiah 53 foretells the Messiah's bearing the punishment for humankind's sin, His death, burial, and resurrection. Check out Isaiah 53 for yourself--it's amazing.

This AI image is responding to prompts more than the original. The bone structure is completely different, the Shroud image has a distinct brow ridge, an aquiline nose, strong thick hair, and a luxurious tash and beard, with a strong lower lip which covers up the corners of the mouth, AI then interpreted that as a tiny feminine mouth, and the large deepset eyes become, anime large.

the most accurate reconstruction of the face was made by ray downing. it was made by a real professional illustrator and graphics professional. care was taken to extract the 3D image cast from the non-linearity of the projection on the cloth. anyone with a critical knowledge of the principles of photography and image projection must conclude that the ai reconstruction was a simple projection of the planar pixelation of the flat geometry of the shroud. this is wrong. the shroud was draped on a real human body with folds and valleys. the image was a linear parallel projection (infinite distance of focus) on a non-linear surface. the ai did not account for the non-linear contour of the corpse.

Of course it's of no actual consequence what He looked like, and of course we shouldn't give the shroud or the image any significance, but as a witnessing tool it's powerful.
i watched a documentary on History a few years ago. A guy had scanned and then modeled a 3D image going from the flat shroud to a human face.

„Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.“
Exodus 20:4-6
Amen and Amen
It’s not a graven image when it’s the actual face of Jesus, besides which, the very earliest Christians depicted Jesus in art.
Wow. Jesus is a handsome son of God. Total Chad.
We either believe or not God will still be God what He has done is for our benefit not His
I’ve shown this information about the shroud to one person that I’ve been trying to talk about Catholicism with.
People don't like the Daily Mail for various reasons but it has very good journalists and has to make fewer retractions to correct errors than most newspapers. It's just snobbery to reject news just because it's in the Mail. It is simply ignorance to keep saying 'the Mail is not too reputable'.
I'd trust the Daily Mail over the rest of the alphabet soup... generally speaking
We smile with our eyes to. That's what AI or no other depiction based on the shroud can recapture since there are coins on the eyes in the image. God bless.
