- This video shows Cochin Airport plane spotting part-1 landing and takeoff. This video is part-1 of the two part series. This part-1 features the description of Cochin Airport and also features the landing and takeoff of a variety of aircraft such as A319, A320, A321, B737 and the B787.

Amazing informative footage. One more unique aspect of this Airport is that it's located near Aluva Railway line & offers great views of Airport on the moving train. I am always waiting to have glimpse of Airport here while returning from Chengannur to Bangalore on my Sabarimala pilgrimage return.

One more thing, it is located near one of the main river of India, The Periyar River.

@@aerowanderer Haha yeah true, really can't complain about plane spotting at AMS. Seems that compared to other airports we don't have many fences that are blocking the view to the runways and taxiways.
Wow , nice shots of planes. Wish Indian airports allowed and encouraged Plane spotters. Here in Belgium, they even spend 1000's of Euros to built Spotting platforms at three or four different locations at Brussels airport. Spotters come there with their picnic baskets with food and drinks..spend hours there...both men , women children. I must be the only Malayalee going there! Lol😁😁. My house is just 1 km or less from Trivandrum international airport...so sometimes go there as well.
Absolutely. The plane spotting culture in the west is totally different from what we have here. It’s more a culture of plane spotting in the west. Though I hope we Indian airports can incorporate something similar in a regulated manner. That’s fantastic to know. Hope to visit Trivandrum soon. I flew to Cochin from Singapore back in 2013. Inbound landing and outbound departure both happened at night, and I did not have a chance to have a good look at the airport. Now I could check out the airport from your video. 😁
That’s fantastic. That was at the time when Cochin didn’t have the new international terminal opened just a few years back. I’m glad you could have a good look of how Cochin has become now.

Kochi will be my favourite airport as I took my first flight of air deccan to chennai. This airport has affordable and cheaper snacks counter and probably has the least UDF. I hope iam right

What's the difference between the word Kochin and Kochi?
Cochin was the old name. The new name given is Kochi.
