Oh Patt I love your work 💘. This is the first video that I've watched of yours and I'm very impressed. I'm a beginning artist and I'm hoping to make beautiful paintings as you do❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much! You will-practice and determination wins the race! Let me know if I can help.
🌬🎨I can't get enough of your channel your art❤ I'm loving this kind of Art work. I promised myself that this year I would do more Ppl.
But I didn't expect to see them in this way.
Love love it🎉

I just discovered your channel and I am extremely happy with it. I love your art. Thank you for sharing your talent and teaching with us. This inspires me a lot 🥰😍❤️
Thank you so much! Great to hear!
Thanks Patt.❤ I found your channel recently and have been binge watching you. I've created a colorful background just yesterday and plan to do the process that you share of blocking out the background, and leaving colorful silhouettes. Wish me luck and many thanks for your very informative and interesting videos!❤
You are so welcome! Have fun with it!
Thank you, Patti. One question: do you prepare your canvas with gesso?
Sometimes it depends on the quality of canvas. I buy Artist quality canvas which are pre primed but if I want a brighter less toothy canvas then I gesso.
What a beautiful painting, and thank you for talking us through the proces. I wonder...what made you decide to take away the red accent on the left below? You loved it, so did I, but you must have had a reason. Just curious...thanks Patt!
Thank you so much! I let the red go to straighten the line.
Patt, what is that white paint that you are using to cover some intermittent colors on the background?
I use titanium white or a tint made with titanium and a colour. If you want more translucent white to let some colour show through Zinc white would be the choice.
I love your art much but I am realistic artist and it is difficult to get off .So what to do?
Thanks! I think you just have to go for it without expecting results and allow yourself to play.
At 81 I am learning so much from you ( I am in Australia by the way ) But can I ask do you let your canvas dry after the first layer?
Yes totally dry before I carry on -you would definitely get muddy colours otherwise.
What do you paint on? Paper, panel, canvas?
This painting is on canvas but I also, paint acrylics on Strathmore Mixed media paper.
I noticed you did not frame your pictures in this group. Do you frame only a few and leave that up to the buyer? Do you have any info with price points both framed and not frames? Thank you so much!
I do not frame my larger paintings as most of them go to galleries and I would have to mark it up to cover the gallery commission of 50% some galleries have framing also so it makes it better for them. Another reason is that frames get shop worn and need to be replaced. I use a square inch pricing model on a sliding scale.
Is there a tool to paint an area of dots
I put a link to a sponge stamp set In the description
