I've had this video in my saved folder for a little while now. I watched it this morning while drinking my coffee. I know what my project for today will be. I can't wait to get started!
Wonderful! Have fun!
Love the floral tutorials!
Thanks so much 😊
Beautiful, very ah La Bob Burridge ❤
I’ve been influenced!😉😜
@@pattscrivenerartist haven’t we all! Lol
@@jdmosaics Hard not to be!
As bob was ala Manet; for one
Your sharing warms my heart!!! I LOVE your art! I like waking up in the morning and starting out by watching your latest video ❤
Thank you so much!Your comment warms my heart!💚😊
I've been wanting to paint flowers for so long but always started with the background, Thank you for the 'aha' moment. It's like working backwards. I have so many backgrounds waiting to try out this process. So experimental! I love it ❤
You’re welcome 😊. I have an online prerecorded workshop on painting flowers - sale ending today . scrivenerartanddesign.thrivecart.com/crazy-about-flowers/
Maybe a little scraping in he background too. Vertical lines
I love stripes!
Good tip about the titanium white. I dip into it and muck it up too.
It’s a hard habit to break! 😊🤔
❤❤❤love your art
Thanks Denise!
Very exciting, I have finally put gold ink into fine tip bottle OMG died and gone to heaven.....karetaki paints are in my list for later.....❤ UK
I’ll have to try that! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Needed This! XO🍒
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you once again Patt ! Great explanation and very inspirational as always . Kind regards - Judi - Australia 😄
Thanks so much Judith! Happy Mother’s Day!
I’ve had paint mold on my Sta-Wet palette my solution is a Clorox wipe underneath the sponge, no more mold.
Thanks for the tip!
You can also use a couple of drops of clove oil on your sponge.
@@40bdg Thanks for the tip!
Great video, love the looseness of this technique! I just wish it was in focus because there’s a lot of detail the viewer can’t see. Also, our eye goes to the place of highest contrast, which here is the highlight on the vase, whereas I would think the focus should be on the flowers.
Sorry! This was taken during a live demo and even though I know it isn’t perfect I hoped it would have some value if I shared it.
Nice study!
Thank you! Cheers!
I do enjoy your demonstrations, but I personally wish you would list your actual supplies. Seeing which products are being used and being recommended is one thing that would help aspiring artists the chance for good outcomes instead of frustrated experiences. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment. I will do that in the future.
When choosing the three colors plus white, what are the best three color names to use being that there are warm and cools of all the three main ones?
@@gerriekaychurch658 I would start with the three warm primary colours, Cadmium red, cadmium yellow pale, and Ultramarine Blue.
@@pattscrivenerartist Thanks much Pat!!

Hi Patt: thoroughly enjoyed the workshop last week! what is the flat brush you are using on these flowers (background)
Hi Callie, I was using a Crayola (kids) brush. Comes in a set of four different sizes. This is the biggest one. I usually get them at Staples or Walmart. Around $5.00 a set.
Was this blurry, maybe my internet connection so couldn’t watch it
sorry about that. It is a bit out of focus!
What board do you mount the paper on? Thanks
I use a birch cradled panel.
So blurry … hard to see what you’re doing
Sorry about that. Here is a short to watch. th-cam.com/video/1nlFrzhMDEE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QzkBPbVZah81offR
@ninabaebae6334 here is another one you could watch. th-cam.com/video/jjD2BMbttzE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Mz8mWles2TPbanPu
The resolution is so fuzzy that I can't see clearly.
Makes a tutorial impossible to watch comfortably.
Such a great artist,. but if teaching,. seems like one of the most I'm,portant things since it's a visual thing; art...
Sorry for that, I have many other videos that have better resolution. I hope you will watch some of them.
I have & they are much clearer. Thank you!!!@@pattscrivenerartist
@@pattscrivenerartistI got the gist of it just fine 👍🏼
Thanks for your comment!
Awesome!
Very out of focus!
Sorry about that.
Patt, please don’t go to the trouble of listing your supplies. It’s really not necessary at all.
Thanks for your comment!
