Amy Turtle was my favourite character in Crossroads, I'm so happy to finally hear her back story and see her again! As usual, the characterizations are perfect!
To think that there are young people in Britain unaware of the life and times of Amy Turtle and her important role in 20th Century history is a travesty in itself.
This brought back so many memories of tea round at my nan's and having to sit in silence when Crossroads came on. I absolutely loved it, has a soap ever been so full of female gay icons? Meg and Barbara Hunter shaped my early forays into gayness. Utterly brilliant vid too, I've always dreamed of a lesbian catfight between Amy and Miss Luke.
Absolutely bloody brilliant 😆 I feel sorry for the young of today who have no idea of the impact Amy, Noelle, Ena, Elsie and Minnie had on our lives. They are so missing out lol
Jamie and Alan's Nolly is better. HBC plays all her characters the same way, they are always spoilt, ageing, badly behaved aristocrats. Her Nolly was basically her Princess Margaret from The Crown with red hair. That's a bit of a travesty to Nolly's memory in my view.
Wonderful. although I miss the closing credits flying in from odd angles! Didn't the head of ITV at the time refer to Crossroads as being "distressingly popular"? Ha! What snobs they all were! Think of all the programming that has come and gone, to be remembered by nobody. Crossroads however is immortal!
You put the FAB into Fabulous 👌. When's the series starting, how many episodes. I'm sure there'll be another series commissioned very soon. Will the Turtle Hotel be open for business this Christmas 2021, I do hope so?
