morgan300c : I don’t think that the BAFTA awards were televised much in the USA. What a shame too, as there are so many great actors/actresses from Great Britain/the United Kingdom and Ireland.

That's a pretty ill-informed opinion... Sure, Marvel movies suck etc... But what about modern cinema like: Birdman, 3 billboards outside ebbing missouri, a serious man, no country for old men, the lobster, prisoners, the shape of water, you were never really here, the master, there will be blood, get out etc etc. Either you've never seen those films and therefore don't really deserve an opinion on modern cinema or you don't like those movies and that's sad...
What blows my mind… is that this all occurs before: Batman, Few Good Men, The Shining, Terms of Endearment, As Good as it Gets. All while sitting courtside watching Magic & Kareem, and donning shades to the Oscars. LEGEND on LEGEND!
Nurse Pillbough riding into screen with Brad Douriff riding on it is simply amazing. Honestly this shot of all amazing talent in one frame with us and no longer with us is absolutely amazing.
@Sam I actually work at a Haunt located within an Asylum and by this point it was a long while since I saw 'Cuckoo's nest' and after revisiting it I had a laugh because one of our lead actors looked spot on to her that I could have sworn she was a doppelganger- she wore her hair the same way, had the little hat and facial wise looked like her it was wild

It's based on a wonderful book. If you haven't read it I highly suggest you do. If you like that book I suggest Birdy written by William Wharton which was made into a film as well but the novel is so much better.
Best acceptance speech I've seen, hands down, anywhere! The guy kept churning out those powerhouse, award-winning movie roles over six decades - he's a machine! And never more magnetic and charismatic than playing himself. Jack Nicholson is the ultimate movie star.
It was even better with the rest of the crew included! I wonder if that was Jack's idea. I think Will Sampson should have been a little more visible as the One. He was standing on his tiptoes, lol
Jack Nicholson nominated for "Chinatown" and "The Last Detail" both, is a feat in itself and receiving it on a set of a film for which he'll win again.

link004, One reason that Finney might seem less successful than the others is that Finney was (and is) a classically trained British stage actor. Unlike the others, the focus of his career was not on being an American movie star. So, he'd stop doing movies for a while and do Shakespeare and Chekov and the great authors on stage in England.
Adam Redfield Yes, very true. Finney could’ve been a bigger star in America but just didn’t have the desire, he turned down the lead in Lawrence of Arabia because he didn’t want to sign a long term contract with the producers.
