Did our guest utterly fail to notice the second onesie, or did he (upon understanding the nature of the first) choose to “discreetly” fail to notice the second; and:
Did our host make the decision not to point out the second for any of the following reasons I can think of: 1) not to press the issue, embarrassing our guest explicitly by indicating the one on the floor; 2) picking up on social cues I failed to notice, recognize that the female of the pair might not go over “comedically” as well as he had hoped?
Of course, there’s always the potential for reasons my individual brain doesn’t conceive.
