Indeed, Rodmell is a beautiful village and there are still many traces around and away from the house that one can imagine Virginia experiences. She wrote one of my favourite novels, To The Lighthouse, and, of course, was sister to Vanessa Bell whose garden the KR group visited in the summer. So much of Sussex around Lewes is imbued with the spirit of these sisters and their circle.
Hi Andrew, I've been fascinated by the Bloomsbury set since I was a teenager but i confess I've never read one of Virginia's books. I think i need to rectify that!

@@kezzaba1 Oh me too, Kerry. There was an adaptation of To The Lighthouse with Kenneth Brannah back in 1983. It was so beautifully done, if somewhat dated now, that when I tried to buy the novel the following day every bookshop had sold out.
@@LynnB_Ky Yes, I could also live in Lewes or somewhere nearby in the country, nearer Charleston than Rodmell. I'll be back there at Kym's place next July as usual. I am blessed having so many good friends in dear ol' Blighty!
Hi Lynn Richard and Ky oh boy what a huge cottage garden bet it looks magnificent in the summer and then the big orchard along with the beautiful house what more could you want. Then the lovely old village with some beautiful looking houses very quaint loved the video Lynn, well done see you soon ❤❤xx
Oh Fiona, the garden was so beautiful and still so much colour which surprised and pleased me. Definitely want to re-visit in the summer, it was so lovely to go there, our first time. The house was also beautifully quaint and you could easily get a sense of her living in there. Such a lovely village; I could for sure live there :-) Take care 🥰 xx

Oh David, yes, I love it there, there was something about it; so peaceful and calming in the stunning location. Inside the house was warm and cosy and I could imagine her there. It's a place I really want to go back to, probably in the spring or summer when the garden will look different. Thank you for watching and enjoying the music too 🥰
Oh you really should visit Jean, it's so lovely there. The garden was amazing and so vast. There were parts of it we didn't see, only from the churchyard looking over the wall, which you will see on my upcoming video. Thank you for watching 🥰
Lovely music Lynn and beautifully filmed. Where was Ky. Can't remember seeing him. Was that some sort of artists group? Looking at the trees and shrubs, it might have filmed a while ago. Am I correct?

Yes John, such a sad life. I've seen many photos of her and she never smiles. I just watched a video in fact, which was very interesting. A portfolio of her life in pictures. I have often passed by on rambles but never gone into the house and gardens. I did not realise the outside space at rear was so extensive.
