Honestly, clock management is the one area where i am POSITIVE, any one of us watching this video would always do better than every NFL headcoach that has ever coached. They should all have one person on the team whose only job is to do clock management, but they don't, and that's because all head coaches have massive egos.
McVay has a handler whose entire job is to make sure he's not on the field or in the way. They definitely can hire someone who tells the Head Coach if they have enough time to do something like get to the line.
Im a Washington Commanders fan and i kept saying dont call that timeout dont call that timeout and when he didnt i was like thank God welcome to dumb decisions lol
I was wondering what the actual hell Morris was doing at times in this game. It's as if he forgot that he had Riley Patterson kicking for him instead of a healthy Younghoe Koo. With that said, I'm happy that the Falcons did Falcons things because my Buccaneers are in control!
Babe wake up a new worst clock management video got posted. I'd love for you to do a retrospective on clock management after the season is over. It is baffling how many times it's happened this season and it isn't even over yet!

Yes! He called it on a dead clock 2 seconds before the end 😂 Only Atlanta can choke like this. Not calling TO's then calling it on a dead clock and then miss the FG which at first looked like it went in 😂 As a Buccaneers fan, that was awesome emotional rollercaster. Morris probably still have some love for Tampa , no other explanation on whole TO stuff.
Yeah. As much as Morris was a fool or pocketing _those_ time outs? I felt like Quinn was putting on a _masterclass_ for Regular Season OT clock management,
Not only did Raheem fail to manage his timeouts at the end of the half, he somehow managed to do it AGAIN in the final 2 minutes of regulation. Arthur Smith was bad but at least he knew how to use his timeouts properly.
Can I add besides feeling in real time like Raheem Morris was being an idiot by not calling timeout at :32 that I was pretty confident Riley Patterson had no chance of hitting from 56?
You brought up an excellent point in regards to Penix. That timeout might have taken some pressure off of him, give him a chance to breath before the play call, and maybe repeat the result that got them in field goal position to begin with. Speaking of which, I didn't see the game or anything else about it. How did he do last night?
I saw this live. I'm screaming. CALL A TIMEOUT! CALL A TIMEOUT! CALL A TIMEOUT! CALL A TIMEOUT! I was mad about the clock management. As a Falcons fan. This game bothered me. I knew that this was going to be a video for Dumb Decisions. When, Pennix connected to Pitts for the Touchdown. I didn't understand why Raheem Morris didn't go for 2 in that situation. Coach Morris coached that game not to lose.
I am seriously in believing that these coaches are in on the prize picks betting line or Fanduel fantasy. These lack of decision making are beyond dumb...it's bonehead decisions!
9:38 "Prolly coulda shoulda...couldve got to the line faster...but then I wouldve missed out being on JG9's DD video, and I got a reputation to protect..."
You completely undersold the end of the 1st half. Raheem did not call a single timeout on the last drive and went to the locker room with all three timeouts. They drove only 50 yards in those nearly 2 minutes. The first 5 plays used 1:37 of the 1:53 left in the half, just to get to the Washington 21 yard line with 16 seconds left.
Looking back at this I'm pissed the Falcons didn't play Penix earlier in the season during the losing streak we had. It sucks we lost but hey dude did great for only his second start.
The first half, I was like, ok, that’s conservative, but you played for the field goal and didn’t risk going for more. Not a fan, but ok. The second half I was ripping my hair out. Overtime I was just dejected. Insane clock management. Thus franchise is cursed with coaching
Morris is holding the falcons back. Between the hesitation to pull kirko, the poor schemes, the poor clock management. There’s no reason this team should be losing these games

The fact he did this timeout schtick not once during this game but TWICE is absolutely insane. How do you not learn from your mistakes in that situation? And the worst part is he had multiple timeouts both times! Actually might be worse than Matt Eberflus.
On Sunday, the main job of the coach is clock management, especially for coaches who don't call plays. Literally, that is the one thing, the most important thing, that they have to do. And so many of them are just... god awful at it. I get that the coach does a ton of stuff leading up to Sunday but on game day it is clock, challenges, and 4th down decisions. That's it. It is bizarre.
So I've been asking why do coaches continually keep their timeouts in their backpocket? I think it's because they are scared of the other team getting the ball back with anytime on the clock whatsoever. I think Rodgers to Adams in San Francisco in 2021, and the Chiefs going down the field in 13 seconds versus the Bills in 2022, has scarred all of these coaches. The other team doesn't usually have Rodgers or Mahomes for quarterback though!
The sad part about this is MY PACKERS GOT screwed more than the falcons did We are stuck going to Philadelphia AUTOMATICALLY instead of la who we beat by 3tds 6 weeks ago in la
I believe if more than two teams have the same record, they count how many divisional wins a team has, and the Redskins have a 3-2 divisional record, swept the Giants and beat the Eagles once, lost to the Eagles, and Cowboys, while the Packers are 1-4 in Divisional games, swept by both the Lions and Vikings, only win is against the Bears.
@@justinturley7071 Division record is only a tiebreaker for division placement. When determining seeding for playoffs, that one is skipped and conference record is the next relevant one. 13 seconds. The Chiefs perfected this almost 4 years ago. It isn't hard to find the play online and watch it. I don't understand how coaches keep messing that up...
I argue his clock management at the end of the first half was even worse. But I want to ask. Are you planning on doing a video on why the Cardinals threw the ball at the end against the Rams, when they should have ran the ball? I honestly don’t want the Cardinals to tank, and I hate the Rams more than the Seahawks. So Saturday’s ending and the Falcons choke job sucked.
The Falcons, just like the Cowboys, can change players, coaches, GMs and everyone in the front office. But will still have the same problem, the owner. The owners keep hiring the Head Coach and GMs and keep getting the same results. Change the owner then see what happens.
EVERY week this season, we've seen countless coaches, some with even Superbowl experience, inexplicably bungle clock management, which of course they should have learned in Coaching 101, and many have shown previous examples of being quite good at that basic skill. So there are 2 possible conclusions to be drawn Either all NFL coaches, including many with previously good reputations, have all suddenly gotten WAY stupid, or Vegas is calling the shots now. I believe it's the latter. The NFL's partnership with Vegas means the NFL gets a LOT more money now, and it comes from Vegas. So more money Vegas makes, the more money Vegas can give the NIFL. Is there ANYBODY who did not see this coming? I mean, we already saw this last year when the Rams, down by 10 with no time left, kicked a fieldgoal instead of just surrendering. Why? Because this made them cover the spread, obviously. There was no football reason to do this. But that was too blatant, so now Vegas has gone with just making coaches look stupid by telling them to mismanage the clock. Which is definitely more subtle but it's now happening SO OFTEN that it's still becoming obvious. Once or twice per season, that's within the bounds of human error, even by experts. BUT EVERY WEEIK?!?!?!? And SO MANY TIMES THIS WEEK ALONE? I'm sorry. The NFL is totally rigged now. I'll not be watching it after this season.
Morris, while overall I think he's a good coach literally keeping Atlanta in contention with smoke and mirrors is absolutely clueless when it comes to time management. Allowing the clock to run after a long pass completion with 2 timeouts left was sheer stupidity and this isn't the first time he's done this. That play started with 40 seconds on the clock and by the time the next play happened there was 12 seconds left. 18 seconds, at least 13 of them just getting to the line, ticked off. Had he called a timeout there would have been, at worst, 20 seconds left. Even 5 seconds more would have allowed them to get 5 more yards closer meaning they would have won.
When Bill Bellicheck was talking about coming to Atlanta I was so hoping it would happen, but then Arthur Blank wanted to give Morris another chance. Hey Arthur, guess what? People like Belicheck don't come around every year, should have given him what he wanted, but now I see what the Falcons are to you, a tax write off. You should really sell the team.
