I'm there with you...I have only owned 8 mustangs but have had a few of the best going back to a '65 k code and a 2000 Cobra R model....and my last car was a 2018 Porsche GT2 RS (I currently own a 2022 Ferrari F8)...but the GTD has my full attention.

Henry Ford knew what he was doing when he laid out the v8 flathead firing order and it gave us the coyote. What an amazing run, id love to hear the entire lap.
The firing order just comes from them both having crossplane cranks, chevy, plymouth, chrysler, dodge, etc... all had this firing order. Ford was not an engine genius lmao, he made cheap cars on purpose. The flathead was a slug of a truck engine that often made less than 100 hp and couldn't rev past 4000 rpm. The coyote is dual overhead cam, and revs to the moon with really high compression.

Many people have commented about how loud the GT500 is when they were following it and the Shelby was flat out. Some saying it's the loudest production car they've ever heard...at least American. Same predator motor in this GTD and it sounds even louder at times. Crazy.
Notice the different exhaust in the beginning and end. From what I read in an article they had to do something about the exhaust noise since it was too loud.

This is showing 3 different versions on the track! Look at the beginning @0:44 when the car enters the track, it looks like a finished exhaust, nice and clean. Then look @0:59, it has bare exhaust tips pointing at a 45 deg angle inward, then @1:13 it's a different bare exhaust pointing straight down. Again @3:08 we're back to the first exhaust set up.

What a Beast. I definitely love the new mustangs as well as the new Corvettes, since they’re both my top favorites. As it stands, the mustang’s inherent the throne of having the thundering V8s. To which, unfortunately, the new corvettes don’t have.
They’re only making 1,000 models, and you have to have a lot of experience with high output sports cars or know a guy to get on the wait list for it. I’m just grateful that i’m alive to see this edition of the mustang, beautiful piece of machinery
Looks good at speed. Nice proportions, Ford did a great job with the stance of this vehicle. The nose looked a little bit reluctant to turn in, but I'm sure the setup is being dialed in for the perfect balance. It'll be great to see what the press cars deliver. Great job Ford!

The Akrapovic rectangular tips sound way better than the temporaries pointed to the ground for noise reduction. I like where the exhaust tips are situated, but I wish it came with round tips instead.

2 different exhaust set-ups in this video. One with rectangular tips and one with pipes pointed downwards. Odd.

One is to damp the noise
The Akrapovic rectangular tips sound way better than the temporaries pointed to the ground for noise reduction. I like where the exhaust tips are situated, but I wish it came with round tips instead.
Nürburgring has noise regulations so perhaps they went out, were told they were too loud and had to modify on site.
