good plan for wet pickup. i totally forgot and was using the foam sleeve on my small stinger unit. it makes such a difference in retaining dust when using the regular kind with the fins. (VF4000 VF 5000 etc. )
You are using a water only sponge filter. That filter is not for dust and dirt. A sock will help you out but read the owners Manuel and get the real bus filter for it then place the sock over i
Super helpful thank you!!! Mine tends too slide off all together and then blow air all around the room. Not so helpful when I'm trying to pick up sawdust!
I've never seen a shop vac use anything other than a paper air filter, like a car... Mine uses a paper filter with a foam pre filter over it! Yours must be for outdoor use only lol
@@cb7pwn a few have pointed out I have a water filter on mine. I let someone borrow it for cleaning their pool and must of forgot to switch my filter back in. Same concept tho…sock it up.
I think it'd probably damage it, easier to just change. But I've been told the filter in this video is a water filter. The correct filter is probably much more likely to be damaged by water.
On the Shop Vac sight, they say their Type U filters are both wet and dry, so you can spray wash them--just make sure they're fully dry b4 using again. The more expensive filters are progressively easier tyo wash, per SVac. Double check, but that's specifically OEM

Here is a suggestion, there are blue paper filters that they sell on Amazon for that type of vacuum, it would keep your foam filter so much cleaner
DUDE. I came here for the shop vac help, but completely am buying the pool filter socks now, heck yes, thank you twice!!!!!

But isn't that filter for wet clean ups?
is it safe for the filter to wash with water for cleaning?

Since that foam filter is for water and wet cleanup, washing it is actually the way to clean it. He is using it as a dry/dust filter, which is WRONG

Thank you big help!
@@darrylowens59 You’re welcome!
Or just buy the cartridge filter thats actually for dusty shit and not water
The sock works in both cases, but yeah a few have pointed out it’s got the wet filter on it.

You call that old? I'm looking for filters for a pre 88 Craftsman, for the 'blue stripe' filters. Not available.
