Kimi deserved so much more. Mclaren and Mercedes let him down big. In 2005 especially he was the best driver on the grid, I would even say 2005 Kimi was the fastest F1 driver I have ever seen in my life. Some of the performances he pulled out of the bag seemingly so easily was something else, like the car was one of the heaviest on the grid and the guy puts in on pole by half a second, like what the hell is even that, then goes on to win by almost a minute to second place and setting the fastest race lap on the last lap like the boss he is. I think some of that fire he had was lost after he became champ, I honestly have no clue why but I always felt like something changed after that. I am a Kimi fan since 2001, I still remember wearing home made Sauber and Kimi clothing watching him go by from the side of the Hungaroring at the age of 10, then the 2005 win, then 2012 when he was hunting down Hamilton for the win in the Lotus. Grown ass man literally tearing up from all the meomries coming in as I am writing this, I miss him so much. Great video, can clearly tell the respect you have for Kimi. Also what a character he is. I hope I can see Robin with that Raikkonen fire again in F1 winning by some ridiclulous margins then making a mockery of the stupid questions by giving a single word for an answer.
The thing I loved about Kimi was his wild abandon when he was excited, like just after he won a Grand Prix the energy in the air was palpable he was like a puppy who discovered fetch for the first time. OK not really he was as boring as Finland on early closing day monotone and dull without any emotion at all. But he sure blew up a lot of Mercedes engines that has to be a world record especially while leading a Grand Prix the man had resilience that is for dam sure.
Some English journalist told a story that in some F1 gala he found Kimi from the balcony, completely drunk. He had a smoke and they stood there for 5 minutes, completely silent. Then Kimi said "I hate F1" and left back to the bar getting another drink. 😄
Nice story without the bullshit, although short 🙏 Also liking your driving and the honesty you post of your career, can't wait the upcoming next race video you provide to us❤ Im a Fin but you're right becibe me and my fellow Finnish friends and could not point finger to what's separating us 🙏
I just heard Mario Ilman F1 Podcast and he said Mika and Kimi were the two best formula 1 drivers he worked with because they could pick up on small differences in the engine. The Mercedes engines blowing up and failing were when Mercedes bought out Ilman so there was alot of learning in the handover after 2001 and Ilman returned to Indycars after his partner Paul Morgan his partner died in a plane crash in 200. The engines were very complex as they used Beryllium and other exotic experimental alloys - this had nothing to do with the drivers. A drivers job is to drive the car to the limits and Kimi is one of very people ever to truly find the limits of an F1 car . At Mclaren no-one in the history of F1 was faster. No-one! His time with Vettel was as a support driver and Ferrari tactics to switch them on a number of occasions reflected that.

I first started watching your channel, my family heritage is Italian and I’ve been there, I love all your videos up until now. I hate the AI generated commentary I’d rather hear you. Please don’t do AI commentary again
When Kimi drove for Lotus he nearly bankrupted them... he had a €50000 per point bonus on top of his salary... apparently they still owe him €7.5m..
and he agreed not to be paid for all of it not to bankrupt the team.
Great video, Kimi sure was a character. Still miss him on the grid.
Easily a multi world champion if the McLaren had better reliability.
Kimi is mental. That’s why we love him 😂👍🇦🇺

2003 also ?
I meant I was born in 2008, but I was lucky to see some races from him.
Kimi kept his Infantry/Recon mentality/attitude when he jumped in to F1!!!👊
Stay Frosty

The Man. The Myth. The Legend

I always enjoyed Kimi interviews and his radio answers. My favourite interviewer answer was in Brasil
King of Spa. 🎉
Imagine the McL engineer that said that about Kimi, confronted with the driving of a certain Max Verstappen 😂😂😂😂
Kiitos, Kimi. You are sorely missed.
I like the old point scoring system,
Kimi "Mua"
Legendary!
One of the greatest.

Mika Häkkinen said one time that when he was leaving F1 and had a conversarion with Ron Dennis he sayed Ron that if you want to win get the Finn.
So Helmut Marko was wrong. Go figure.
Naska where were you? I heard your voice but i didn't see you, please show yourself more, you're an handsome man

Sir George, like Crash Crashwaitingtohappen, seems to have never learned the words it's my fault.
Next it is Hamilton
I could never understand what he was saying
