    Man I feel like Chad was really thinking of his own battle with cancer when he had to step out of the room...hope people realize that we didn’t know even a fraction of how much courage and strength this guy had. RIP Chadwick Boseman. Wakanda forever 🙅🏿‍♂️

    I have to give Marvel its respect, they not only fully funded and supported this project, but they marketed the hell out of it.

      Jeff Jones you make it seem like the idea was brought to marvel lol. It came from Nate Moore inside of Marvel and then brought to Ryan and Co.

      Black Panther is one of Marvel’s most prized characters. Of course they would

    • @liynne
      @liynne 6 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      not to sound mean but marvel knew that if they fucked this up in any way it would not be pretty at all. just look back and not an old film of their at all, doctor strange. where everyone iswhitewashed. and just the amount of whitewashed characters they have. scarlet witch, pietro, steven strange, the master in dr strange, the bald woman. to only name a few. black panther turned out like this purely cause the director was black and is who he is and he knew his shit and knew what to do. also bc if marvel made any mistakes here the backlash would have been massive. yea good job marvel here but they don't really deserve all that respect. this is one hit out of all misses.

    • @crystasanchez6362
      @crystasanchez6362 6 ปีที่แล้ว +64

      No, he was referring to 2 children who were terminally ill. He was in communication with them through the entire process of shooting the movie and they both said that they were going to hold on just to watch the movie because they were so proud of him and what the movie represented for black people. Sadly, they both passed before it was finished.

      Isaiah Meyers I don't understand, why are we so concerned about white folks and what they think. All people of color saw this movie. And, if no one walked away to see and understand the depth of this movie and what it conveyed to the world...we as a people will continue to struggle through life as it exist. Michael B. Jordan, said a mouth full before he pulled the spear out of his chest.

      Dwight Stewart you are right this is more than a movie. And honestly us being so concerned about what white people think of us has held us way back and divided our community. We need to take this movie as an idea of how much greater we can become. Because black people are already great even when people try to handicap us.

      Also the Lord gave this to me in a dream and the dream was tied to this movie because Lusitania was in it and so was M'baku I'm sorry I forget his name, but he showed me the book of Hosea in the Bible but a little more specific was Hosea chapter 4 and 5:14-15 please read it. I really feel the Lord wants the Black community to read it. That includes the world black community.

      In a personal story telling moment of sadness in the interview, by Chadwick. Two of his powerful intellectual women thespians by his side, without hesitation physically comfort him. This action show their natural compassion towards him is a sign of fellowship, respect and love..To me what beautiful commeraderie and supportive team Black Panther has... Following this interview months later, Chadwick had reached the fullness of his time on earth.. with deep respect R.I.P. Chadwick.🙏❤

    I'm watching it tonight and I'll watch it again with a friend. Man it's about time we see an advanced version of ourselves. Yeah it's one thing to have a majority black cast but even better is how it's also a SciFi film. Growing up on the Outer Limits, Xfiles, Twilight zone, Tales from The Hood I always loved Sci fi and Thought provoking shows and films so I've been waiting for a film to bring it all together.
    Let's keep it real black folks support a lot of bullshit that keeps stereotypes alive. We complain about racism and stereotypes then go watch the shows that embrace those stereotypes. We have to embrace excellence and creativity and reject ignorant dumbass negative behavior. From Get Out to Black Panther let's keep it going. Don't stop there.

      Nnedia Okorafor (Nigerian-American) fantasy author, her novels are being made HBO tv show. Her novels are full of Nigerian cultures,especially Igbo but also features other African cultures and mix her love of science with fantasy and folklore and take place on the continent. N.K. Jemesin, african american scifi author's novel is also being made into a tv show for TNT. She also writes amazing stories with more hard science fiction elements and is great at world building. Next, the Jamaican fantasy/speculative ficition author Nalo Hopkinson' her novel brown in Row has been made into a film and was a few film festivals. And Marlon James, Jamaican author is writing a fantasy novel that is taking place in precolonial West Africa that will be full of fantasy and mythology and he said might end up being triology. He included Anansi the spider but completely revamped him and other creatures. So there are many authors from across the diaspora writing stories in science-fiction, fantasy, horror etc They just have not all reached mainstream but once they do especially now is the time for them to work with TV show runners and get their books made into TV shows.

      Here's a story that would be categorized as African Horror that was published in the New York Times. It's about dolls/babies and how pressure is put on women to have children/the desire to have a baby.... but with fantasy/horror twist.
      www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/10/26/who-will-greet-you-at-home
      It's written by a Nigerian author, and was mentioned at the Ake Book Festival, they have there where the moderator discussed how horror, scifi and fantasy is being written on the continent. You can watch the talk here th-cam.com/video/oXFNhiGwB6E/w-d-xo.html. And Nnedi Okorafor was there you can see her talk here, so glad her work is being made into a TV series. th-cam.com/video/kZB6SDJd2o8/w-d-xo.html

    As a white man, not only do I find this movie incredibly important; the conversation around it is that important, too. Look... No bullshit... America is still a very racist country. Look no further than who was elected as President, should you need evidence of how scared a lot of white america truly are of giving black people equal opportunity. I grew up in a racist household, for instance... My father, my step father, aunts and uncles... All not only unaware of how being white gives us advantage, but that advantage to continue to keep themselves above people of color. This movie could be a turning point in how some people like that start to think, should they give it a chance. I think that is going to happen. As a teen, I found my utmost musical heroes and influences... and they all happened to be black; Prince, Michael Jackson, Etta James, etc. I'm actually a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, and I have done work for labels and other artists. Seeing Prince, I didn't care that he was a black man... As someone who grew up wanting to play instruments, I sought the best... Prince was that dude. So was Michael Jackson. It took me out of the racist element I was growing up around. Your movie will do that for some kids.
