Great wonderful playing by a focused, passionate young lady. Terrific camera shots of her hands playing from many different angles. Thank you so much for recording these great works for us to enjoy.
Chopin would have been delighted with this performance and Beethoven would be amazed that his work could be heard with such ease. Thank you for this video
Exceptionally played with perfect tempo, dinamics, expression and beethoven spirit surrounding in every bar. Thanks for your great job giving life to the great genius of Bonn. From Balcarce, Buenos AIres Province, Argentina.
Miraculous Marta does not merely perform music, she does not merely play the piano; she expresses the music as it is, with all her heart and magical skill, by means of a piano. The result, as here, is a sword of joy in the heart. Would that all the world could be so moved!
The great English poet John Milton said, 'A good book is the precious life-blood of a master spirit.' That is also true of a great reading of a work by a great composer, such as miraculous Marta's readings of Beethoven. She is a master spirit truly expressing the masterly creations of a master spirit.
Jahrhundert!
I imagine these are some of the best known melodies that Beethoven wrote? Astonishingly modern... especially the slow stuff. Lovely to see you get right into the heart of these compositions Marta. As ever, a delicacy and understanding on how to deliver, together with the Marta Czech technique - combination of which gives these performances their unique place in Ludwig's Hall of Fame. Love from Birmingham. x
This interpretation is extremely pure in the sense that it is extremely neutral and yet exquisitely musical. Take the interpretation of Barenboim for instance, supoose Beethoven, in heaven listens to Barenboim. Two things can happen. Beethoven would love the excessive use of pedal or he would hate it. Barenboim has a particular "style" of playing. One may say that the interpretation is "tainted" because Barenboim added his "personal touch" (but that is what playing a musical instrument is about btw). This interpretation on the other hand is extremely neutral. If Beethoven hears this, his reaction would probably be very neutral (or maybe he would praise it for being neutral). This is like a textbook interpretation of the piece and in today's time, being surrounded by so many "tainted" interpretations, this interpretation has a certain angelic and pious beauty about it. That is not to say that this interpretation lacks personal touches or is "dry" in any way, but that it lacks "violent modifications" that I sometimes do like, but its very refreshing to stumble upon such "pure" interpretations for once.
It is a perfectly structured approach, and there are no breakdowns in her stable mechanics. However, it is also a great piece that I personally want to feel the torrent of the player's emotions directly in every movement.
@@ZKLofiTone Yeah - but mine is the first movement. Please check the video I have posted just now on practising my favourite bit within that movement (the title is 'Breakfast at Beethoven's and Rachmainov's practice loop'). I can't believe you did the entire Art of Fugue - very impressive. My favourite version is the one by Fretwork.
Bravissima!

Hätten Sie zu Beethovens Zeiten in Wien gelebt, wären Sie nicht nur seine begabteste Schülerin, sondern auch seine unsterbliche Geliebte gewesen.

"neutral" = boring?
Eine sehr schöne und talentierte junge Frau
Fenomeno!

Une version sage et très féminine......mais pas très pathétique à mon avis....
It is worth remembering that the colloquial names of Beethoven's sonatas were not invented by their author.
