At least the term actually felt appropriate here.
One of many issues I had with WoC is that Cortex didn't even come across as the main villain & felt like just another minion to Uka Uka. He was the REAL villain of WoC.
Even Crunch came off as just being a guinea pig to Uka Uka...

All the other times you kinda can feel he's pulling crash along, enjoying the rivalry so he can improve as a scientist or just because fighting Crash is fun. Not this time. In Crash 4 I think you can really feel Cortex wanting to murder Crash and Coco.
