Cody, two thumbs up on your video! I also want to thank you for being extra courteous to me and my guest in worm cove last Thursday afternoon. We were on small fish in the opening at the end of the boat trail and I saw a boat coming in on plane. I immediately thought he would run through our area and that would be the end of that bite. However the boat shut down and went way around us - having to motor through some heavy lily pads. Very, very courteous! Not many boaters would do that. My guest was a long time friend and that was his first trip to fish Lake O. Because you were so nice he caught 7 fish in that one spot and had a great day on Okeechobee. All thanks to you! We watched you fish with your clients and could tell you were having a great time.
Folks, Cody Davis is an honest straight shooter. I highly recommend him!

I agree with you 1000% on not using a snell knot. I started just using a palomar knot and I get hung up way less and my hook up % is better FOR ME

I don’t punch much where I live . But I agree with you on snelling. I quit snelling a couple years ago and I haven’t noticed a difference with hook up percentages. I also use a uni knot for everything.

I stopped snelling several years ago for the reasons you said!! I also feel you can keep more pressure on the bend of the hook without a snell. Hence landing more fish!!

Good tip on beginners avoiding the snell knot. Do you do a double uni (twice through the hook eye like a palomar) for braid?

My fishing partner Kyle King and I were the anglers who had 4 fish! We lost a 10+ at the boat that day also. The late morning bite was when the magic happened. As soon as the sun came out, the bite died!

Excellent. One question. What season is worst in terms of mosquitoes? Always at sunset? I’m in a certain part of California and the fricking monsters are always taking you apart at sunset. Hate them!!! Thanks. Your videos are awesome and extremely educational. Heading for a week of R&R last week of August real near you. Will reach out.

Would you recommend that flipping stick over Arks Tharp series okeechobee special? Thanks.

I'm gonna try the rod he mentioned but I have 2 ark okeechobee rods for flipping and 2 invoker pro 7.11 xxhvy they are great for the price and hassle 2 oz and lighter for my Florida experience. He's very knowledgeable I thought his setup was the essenceseries if still available. depending on how much you have to spend both are awesome rods
