Meanwhile at Sugar Cube Corner, "Hey Pinkie", Mr. Cake cried out from the kitchen, "Do you know what happened to our month's shipment of vanilla waffers? I can't find them anywhere."
I loved this story Dr Wolf, and I thoroughly enjoyed your reading of it. I enjoy more complex stories like this one that are both illuminating and uplifting. Thank you so much for bringing it to life. Btw your Rarity was hilarious. As for whether you should do more long fics? Absolutely. I trust your judgement. If you like the story long or short, then by all means read it for us and I'm certain I'll like it too :-)
I really enjoyed this story, and I often find myself searching through your videos to find all of your dramatic readings. I honestly love them so much, it takes me back to my childhood. I would love more long stories in the future, and I earnestly hope you take that request to heart.
Well, you shouldn't have to search through all my videos to find all the Dramatic Readings. Check out this playlist instead: th-cam.com/play/PL4flTJfGvAgcanu50mI5uhCH6SQAioWdM.html
I think you already know my stance on whether or not I want longer stories like this considering I asked you to read this one. I have to say though, you sure didn't disappoint, I really enjoyed your reading of this and can't wait for whatever story you decide to give a go next!
This was an interesting story. As for future stories, long or short it doesn't matter as long as they're good stories and you've done great at choosing them so far.
I found it pretty interesting. It had me cringing most of the way through lol. Personally I strive to be honest, it makes things so much simpler and easier to keep track of. However, just as this fanfiction touches upon, lying isn't always good or bad. The world isn't as simple as black or white. It is quite the lesson and a wonderful and believable way portraying it. I would positively giggle if something like this were to actually make the show. The story and reading were high quality, so as to the question of if you should do more like this, the decision ultimately rests with you of course, but I personally love the length. It pulls you in and doesn't let go. It reminded me of 'Simply Rarity' that is near the top of your dramatic reading playlist. I felt myself on the edge of my seat, even if all my suspicions of what would happen next turned out to be true. So.. *Thumbs up*
A very enjoyable story and I would like to say I would not mind having more of these longer stories being read here. The feels were really getting to me with the exchanges here at the end (Lyra and Bon-Bon particularly), to the point where my chest began to hurt... thought that may just be my overall poor health. I admit though that having a lie counter would be a issue as I practically live and breath lies when talking with family. Then again, that may partially be because I despise meaningless conversations.
I always thought that actions speak louder then words. I'm not sure how to feel over the lie counter. you may lie but that lie could be in a for of protection or something. there are many different ways to go about this both bad and good. It was a nice change of pace with all the other videos I've seen to have a simple reading of a story. it was very interesting indeed. thank you for the read Wolf, you did a wonderful job
My vote for short/long is a mix- long fics for specials and shorter for the rest, or do one long one a month, or whichever ones spark your interest the most. I think the kicker will be time distribution- when the season starts up again shorter ones may be the ones, and longer during the off-season. Does it take extra time to find fanfics?
I'm so glad this story has an actually love based relationship, it really works well as a small side plot, some romance fic's can be to much. But I'm glad this has a love based side story.
Again your voice acting is amazing. And I loved the story too! Whether you should do longer dramatic readings or not, that's all up to you. I'm fine listening to whatever you read. I would suggest my favorite fanfic, but that's "Bride of Discord", and that already has a audio drama and is probably too long. But if anypony hasn't read it yet, who likes Fluttercord, go read it now.
Well, it took me two months to get to it, but I finally listened to your reading. I must say, you did a wonderful job making each character stand out, not just in voice but as a real personality. This is a trait that I feel many readers lack, but you can do so well. I'd love to see more longer readings from you, but I expect that they take quite a while for you to do. Occasional long readings would be great, but don't overwork yourself. We'll be here, watching, waiting patiently.
I've actually been working on minding those gates recently. It's not always easy to be genuine, especially when you don't know for certain what that would entail.
I for one want to personally thank you for bringing this story to my attention. although I can't help but to wonder what happened to the other totems and their creators
Good job as always dr. And yes I wouldn't mind seeing more stories like this in my opinion in the real world is something like this happened everything would go to hell the government would fall apart because it is nothing but lies but eventually things might start getting better
Honestly, if people could tell I was lying 100% of the time, I'd never speak again. I tell a million lies a month. Too many people rely on me to say "I'm fine" or to lie to boost confidence or ironically trust because I council about 40 friends a week. Even my parents rely on me for keeping their relationship glued together. I practically have to lie to everyone around me. I don't want them to worry about me and I'm sure that I'd be hated for speaking the truth as many of them rely on kind words to help them through tough times, even if those words are false. The truth can hurt and there is an art to balancing truth and lies to make people happy and trusting of you. If I spoke the truth, sometimes it can sound like an opinion, which can in itself be hurtful and seem needlessly cruel. Don't get me wrong, a cruel truth can sometimes be good. In moments where people have gotten use to hearing kind words, they can get addicted to hearing kind things, which can be detrimental as people can stop themselves from becoming better if they can live with the happy lies forever. Sometimes a painful truth can be good. Not kind, but good. It can sometimes be the wake up call that helps a person to realise their flaws and become a better person. As I said, its an art. Lying can be kind in short term situations. It can help to strengthen bonds by letting the person know that you care for their feelings. Whether you are lying or not, it can feel good to hear nice lies. Of course, the truth strengthens bonds also, as the person can feel happy that you could be so candid and honest. I feel that the truth is the best thing in most long-term situations, as it can be easier to tell the truth early so the issues presented by it can be worked through together and the two of you can be on the same page throughout the issue's aftermath. Truth and lies can both make and break bonds and I believe they are both vital equally to keeping a strong healthy relationship... though knowing when each action is appropriate is a difficult skill to master. Ending up extreme in either direction could make you look like The boy who cried wolf, a two-face or a rude unsympathetic jerk. PS: If this "Meter" power were a real thing, I think I'd go insane. Many people would. ...In fact I'm sure there is a book about a man who never lied and he ended up sending himself insane.
Personally, I foremost think that this was a greatly acted (is that the right term to use here?) dramatic reading. You nearly had me tearing up at the Lyra/Bon-Bon reunion scene simply for how much emotion was in your voice. Secondly, I think _I_ would be the worst off among my family and friends if such a thing were to be made manifest. I am well aware of how many small untruths I tell daily, even for all my focus on the details of events. On the other hand, I also feel like I could adapt to bend the truth to my will relatively easy, as I've practiced such before. Thirdly, I think that this isn't exactly something that could be told in a normal, slice-of-life episode of MLP. If the show were to tackle it, I think it would have to end up being in a two-parter. It's just too deep a concept to address in the way that the show normally presents its morals, even if the concept itself would fit well within the setting. They've already kind of tackled the "building of walls" thing in Sleepless in Ponyville, and I wouldn't be surprised if another episode about lying is out there waiting for us.
Well, I do say do one-shots since I have less time for your long read, but if it's a great story like this one, absolutely do it. A maybe you should consider doing a novel one day
I liked this story, do what you want for the Dramatic Readings, this was a nice change for me who listened to the one about Scootaloo, why Pinkie Pie Smiles, and Dearest Fluttershy, as for the lesson, it was pretty good and I'd like I if the show took care of it and used a story that's similar, if it was to happen, I would still be the way I am because I rarely lie and also because I live far far away from all of my friends, but if I was living near them in my home county in FLorida, it would not affect my way of life at all but it would be interesting to see how my friends truly saw me.
This story is odd for me. I personally don't mind if people drop a white lie occasionally ...in fact this whole time I couldn't understand why Twilight's nose was so bent out of shape. I can't always be around for my friends but I will tell them I can. I will try to bend and fluctuate to meet their needs but sometimes forces like lose and my own mortality get in the way. A few white lies don't bother me but I understand the importance of being honest with others! Lovely story. And as for fanfics in the future, you do what you enjoy. I must say though, if I don't care for a story any fanfic reader presents, the one shots only mean I must avoid their channel for a week. Chapter long fanfics mean I'm occasionally avoiding a channel (especially if that's the only content they produce) for a month or more, depending on how frequent the updates are. I doubt you'll read this Dr Wolf but it's just some food for thought. I genuinely enjoy the content you created or present. Thank you~
A great story over all. Grant it, the part with AJ's parents felt a little shoehorned. AJs motivations could have been as simple as it's the middle of harvest and I don't have time but you're my friend so I'll make time but I guess that wouldn't quite fit the running theme now would it. I love the dramatic readings and would enjoy to see more. One I would like to see is "Sunny Skies All Day Long" By PhantomFox. I know it's a little above the word count that you have set before (it's about 8500 words) but if you decide to do longer readings, I would like to hear it.
If there was an actual lie counter above everyone's heads it would be nice if it also displayed how many of those lies that person told were to you. Perhaps the format could be like 11(2). Of course this means the number would appear different for everyone that looked. I always like to know everything thats going on around me. A lie counter could help me a lot. :)
i liked this story done by you. i think in part because the way DRWolf001 speaks (yes i assume that this is not the way you talk off youtube) and what i assassinate with your voice. i also like long stories but if you did some grim-dark or like fallout equestia it just would not work unless that was the first work i herd from you. so yes more long works please but please bare in mind DRWolf001's speach when you do and maybe put on another persona when you do works of other kinds.
hi dr wolf i really like ur dramatic reading, but is there anyway you could do one with '5 years later' by HaloEssence111? its one of my favorites and it would be really awesome if you could do a reading for it.
I would like to see this scenario in real life and I like that you gave something new a try but I'd like it if you stuck with the shorter stories also I'd like to suggest you do a reading of a story called little chrysalis thank you for everything you do
In all honest I'd run. :P I lie most of the time and I'm not about to let anyone know what or why I lie. But in the end I very much like this longer story being read by you and I would love it if you would do more~ As always love your work~ :3

This is probably a long shot but could you check out What You Mean to Me by Tommy Oliver? It's a little outside your style but I know there's a safe edit on Fimfiction.
Yeah I'd definitely like Dr. Wolf to read 'What you mean to me' or atleast review it, i kind of wonder what his opinion on a relationship with that kind of age gap could be

Will you be doing any spookier stories for Halloween?
1:45 Rarity did WHAT??? Until the age of 5?!?!?! 2:00 OH.....nevermind.

Excuse my vulgar and unintelligent response but " YESH WE REQUIRE MOAR LONG STORIES!!!" Please and thank you

you did a very good job reading this.... keep up the good work /)
how do you feel about Applejack lying in this story Doc?
Pretty good. Long ones seem fine
In all honest I'd run. :P I lie most of the time and I'm not about to let anyone know what or why I lie. But in the end I very much like this longer story being read by you and I would love it if you would do more~
As always love your work~ :3
Alice Modley Yay to lieing and hiding our feeling about people or humanity in general!
Alexander Washington X3 well I can't lie :P
Wow is Lyra going to be upset over the secret agent thing....
If there was a number of lies on my head, i'd have as much as rarity!!!! XDDD
DRWolf001 The Numbers Don't Lie we want more long story
Long stories! More!
Good voice acting!!!:-)
Thank you kindly.
I don't approve of this story, Great read though.
But Twilight is scientifically minded. She would have tried to test the counter.
I think determining through study what exactly the parameters of the spell were, would have been more important to her than, assuming the counter only ticked for lies.
Someone like Twilight would have immediately said "This statement is false" just to see what happened, for science.
I would like more long fics. This is probably a long shot but could you check out What You Mean to Me by Tommy Oliver? It's a little outside your style but I know there's a safe edit on Fimfiction.
Yeah I'd definitely like Dr. Wolf to read 'What you mean to me' or atleast review it, i kind of wonder what his opinion on a relationship with that kind of age gap could be
Heather Miller
Tommy Oliver would probably(not 100% sure) appreciate the added publicity to his works as a writer. Couldn't get into it myself, but might have just been a bad day for me.
yes
your welcome DRwolf

I would also be compelled to experiment with the spell, such as the telling of an obvious lie to someone that knows I would be lying as I said it,(thus, no wall) or non verbal lying, such as nodding, pointing, or general body language.(putting on a brave face)
But another would be the one I thought of first, but would potentially have to save for last:
Saying out loud, "With this very statement, I am lying!"
Politicians am I right
u shood read BUBOLS!!
long and short
