  • Join Kayla and me as we go on a kayaking adventure into a slot canyon on the shores of Saguaro Lake. This beautiful desert lake is a 20-minute drive out of Mesa, AZ and is an oasis in the desert.
I struggle a bit with my bass fishing equipment, but we manage to have a wonderful day exploring the canyons that rise from the lake's waters. I talk a bit about the interesting plants we find in our time out on the lake and share some about the history of land management in the US.
Sadly, Saguaro Lake is currently closed due to the Bush Fire that is currently burning in the desert close to the lake.
If you follow, please remember to leave no trace! Take only pictures and leave only footprints.

Great video! Saguaro is so big it can be overwhelming for kayakers. You highlighted some great spots. Keep up the great video work!

Love the info about the invasive species and your guys' attitude on trash clean up! We need more people like you! I'm in Tucson and just got a kayak, inspired to get out there! Will also be checking out your videos on the AZ Trail, thank you for all of your content

How do you go about getting to the spot at 7:25 in your video. Cool video, I just kayaked around the marina, but want to some of those coves

Impressive video. Accurate info delivered clearly, and your emphasis on stewardship is so important these days, with ever-increasing population pressures on our recreational resources. Kudos for top-notch videography, also!

I like how informational your videos are. Really good information about the Oldeander Bushes. This is yet another example of how humans shouldn't be trying things like this...men can only mar it.

Great video but it's not in Mesa. Actually ft. McDowell, northeast of fountain hills. Might limit ppl who visit Mesa bc it's 45 mins-1 hour from Mesa.

The southern end of Bush Highway ends in Mesa on Power Rd. It’s the closest metropolitan area to the lake 🙂
