I am able to relate too many things, in this movie when I first arrived in Toronto,at first it was very exciting, then came the disappointments and dealing with many phoney , shallow people. The only thing I had were parents , that lived 90 minutes away, that I could run to , for money , food and shelter.
I could do with one of them "lawyerin' and doctorin' jobs" 😆 Funny thing is, people tend to see the SCTV skit of this film and are unaware that it is a spoof of a Canadian classic. I recall reading an interview with Don Shebib where he mentions he's grateful for the SCTV spoof because it has led many people to search out his movie. May I also recommend searching for the sequel "Down The Road Again" from sometime in the early 2000s.
I was there Those were the days my friends
I can't watch this without thinking of the hilarious SCTV sketch
Why, there's lots of jobs in Toronto! Doctorin' jobs and lawyerin' jobs... jobs for me and you!

Its arguably the best English Canadian movie ever made. I highly recommend it.
A Canadian Classic!! Very nostalgic. Kinda depressing film of a bygone era.
