Thank you for this video. It has helped resolve a bit of cognitive dissonance I was experiencing after some heated debates/discussions. I look forward to future videos discussing theism in an objective fashion
Excellent question! Likely, unsatisfactory answer. I'll give a brief explanation and some examples to consider. For some religions, and for some times in the history of the same religion, these words were used interchangeably: "angel" "spirit" "demigod or lesser god" and "ghost". For example, in Buddhism: there is no "god" but there are spirits. Confusing! In Christianity, the religion is a monotheism (belief in ONE God) yet there is also another Lord (of the Underworld), a large set of angels, Jesus (as God), and a Holy Spirit. In one version of Hinduism, there is only one main god (Brahman) and all the other 100+ gods are instances of Brahman. Zoroastrianism (and the Spentas) and indigenous Greek religion (with Zeus as the main God) also have interesting stories.
@@saharjoakim hmmm I was thinking that what makes it unclear is the translation between cultures, how these beings are perceived in each and how to communicate that to outsiders

Hmmm sounds like something that would've emerged when monotheists and polytheists interacted early in history
Good consideration! What if we called all supernatural beings “gods”, things would become even more complicated.
How are the lesser gods in henotheism treated differently from "spirits"?
