I fitted one of these systems about 3 years ago and agree with all your comments, it saves so much time, best wishes James

At first I thought there "alright for youngsters" but with 58yr old I think this is going on the workshop want list. Nicely explained thanks.

Pro trick: you can watch movies on Flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies lately.

Many people use the terms accuracy and precision synonymously but there’s an important difference between the two.

If the super 7 is similar to the ml7 you can reduce the backlash quite easily by adjusting the lock but behind the handwheel

Too complicated 10 minutes setting the DRO for a 5 minutes job!!!!! I will stick to my 55 year old experience:-))) I have a Super7B lathe when I want some precision I just use a DTI with a magnetic base very quick!!!

I've just bought one of these & it doesn't really take any setting up to use it just as a DRO. Helped me out this weekend no end. I'm new to lathes so using the dials is a bit tricky for me & my Allendale DRO is brilliant, although the instructions that come with the universal version sren't up to much

That sums it up my friend you are new to lathes, that's why you talk like that I talk from experience lots of it:-))

@@bonesshed. By the time you come to my age, 73, there will be no lathes left everything will be three D printed:-)))))))

John Hili a mere 40yrs experience as a toolmaker here and I find although I can work perfectly well without a DRO they can speed things up a tad
