I own a 95 and it's everything you said it is. For 2010 this is a WELL made video, camera is not shakey and I can actually HEAR what you're saying. Even in 2018 it is far above the videos even now. Good Job, and I will continue to enjoy my Lexus. Even if i had 1,000,000 i wouldn;t want to nor know of a better vehicle to trade it in on. It's THAT good of a car!
You have no idea what a blessing this is to me. Some folk, like me, actually WANT a vehicle like this because of its price and reliability, even if we can afford a current model. Thank you once again!
Own a '91 LS400 same color combo. Just turned over 301,000 miles. Got 25 mpg on a long drive to Vegas this past weekend. Hit the cruise control, cranked up the ac. No issues.
I had one with 350,000 miles on it everything worked great just had to get something with better gas mileage if you take care of them they will last forever i love toyotas still havent owned a car better than a toyota
A great car for sure. If you want a car that starts every time you switch on the ignition and will give you trouble free motoring at luxurious level, look no further!
My 1st car the 1995 Lexus LS400. All i can say is i LOVE it. I bought it at an auction for 1,000. It's got nice rims the suspension is a bit lower than its regular size. Got tinted windows put in a flat screen and a speaker in the back. It runs really good. V8 car kills gas but really i don't mind i get good comments about my car and how lucky i am to own it for 1 thousand. Smog check passed right away with no problems. It's already a year that I've had it no problems what so ever.
312,200 and still kicking. Do the basic maintenance and your care will run forever. I have a 1992 and it runs so smooth. About to change struts, but still expect to have for a while.
this car is amazing. I own one and it is so nice. 292 hp is great, and is the most amazing car for roadtrips with the family. large comfortable and not to mention the rear air conditioning! not bad for a 16 year old car eh?
I have this car. Same year same color and let me tell you. Im going on my 5th year with this car and only go to the auto shop for a oil change or breaks. I never had major problems out of it. The 95 LS 400 is the best year on this car. I was going to get the 430 but asked myself what for. I love how the side and rear view mirors dim when high beams hit them. If your looking for a car that your going to get your moneys worth get this car.
Lexus ridiculously over engineered these cars. Not only are they tanks but they are beautiful cars as well. I don’t see as many of these cars as I used to but I talked to one owner of one of these the last time I saw one and his had 424,000 miles on his. And that was 2 years ago.
I'm sorry (not really) but I'd chose this "bland" Lexus over a Mercedes ANY DAY. The fact is that they are in the same class as them but they last longer, A LOT longer than the Mercedes. Even if u take care of the Cedes it will fuck up more than the Lexus. So yeah, I chose reliability over bullshit gadgets anyday
Perfect car and review, why would anyone waste thousands on a brand new car instead of picking up that LS400,it still has at least 100-150 left in it,its in great condition,no CELS,no whine,no hesitation, great exterior and interior, nothings worn, torn or looks replaced. Its ready for road trips or weekends.Nice hope it sells to a responsible buyer out there.I have a Merc E320 same yr and was going to,or perhaps still will get one of those.
I love the Nak stereo systems these cars have. They're probably the best sound systems ever installed in a car from the factory! I wish this kind of quality was available in a sub-compact.
I want this car. Some guy around me is selling one for $1500 or best offer. I have to have it. Hopefully I see it in person it looks as good as this. Seriously $1500 and I would get this much luxury and a V8? My parents cars that are worth more than this and are a few years newer don't have this stuff or are this roomy looking with leather seats. I guess they don't make them like they used to. Hopefully the guy gets back to me. This would be an amazing first car for me.
+BallsOnYaJaws I bought one for my first car a couple months ago, and it's been amazing. For less than $6,000 I got rear wheel drive, silky smooth V8 engine, a smooth ride with great handling, an incredibly well built interior and an awesome exhaust note, not to mention it has less than 85k miles. Strongly recommend.
I have a 1997, same model as this, and it is the best thing I have ever done. Smoothest car ever, even at WOT you barely hear anything, and at 110 miles an hour, it feels as comfortable as 35, and I'm not joking. Astonishing car with amazing build quality. You won't regret it. Even repair costs aren't that bad.
Got same exact year & color; perfect luxury flair color when clean, SMOOTH & QUIET IDLE!! Strong 8, 3 yrs. and only brake pads & tire costs. For $4,700 (in 2012) I get more ooooh's than my buddy gets for his 2015 Nissan costing over $20k. No more Carnote savin toward the '07 LS
+Ronald David same here, year and color. Mine unfortunately has had some issues, mainly an all-out power steering leak, but it is at 241k. However i still do not regret my decision for choosing this as my first car, especially since i was able to get for under 2 grand
I still have my '95! It has only 170,000 miles on it. I did put in a lot of money into it: two alternators, two starters, power brake booster, O2 sensor, another obscure sensor that kept tripping the Check Engine light, new rack, power steering pump, and a new timing belt; I'm ready to go another 170,000 miles. Why did I not get rid of it? It is still a very smooth ride, and is just as comfy as today's luxury cars.
Wow! I was quite surprised to find this video while searching around for replacement radio information. Thank you for making this video of my car. Now I can share it easily with family and friends. I purchased it back in August and am very happy with my purchase. I look forward to doing more business with All City in the near future. It sounds much better by the way because I've owned several Toyota's and the secret is Castrol Syntec. Make it quieter than a Mercedes.
This was definitely a time when Lexus was trying to make a point to other manufactures -- that they could also build luxury cars but also RELIABLE luxury cars! Bullet proof ride but a little numb in driving dynamics compared to his german rivals.
The late 1992 LS400 facelift introduced this feature for 1993 first-gen models about the time this '95 model's design was signed off on. I think Lexus adopted this alarm beep in 1991 and BMW followed in 1994 with new E38 7-series. Mercedes-Benz(non-US) did so in 1997 when SmartKey was introduced.
I have a Lexus LS400 but it was a 1997 and it was a nice riding car I love that Lexus LS 400 but now I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon and it ride Good to thank Toyota and Lexus
stylish way of getting from point a to point b but it had a habit of leaking hydraulic fluid from the active body control system and that ended up costing us about 800 pounds to fix or roughly 1/5 what the car was worth at the time, now flash forward 2 years i now own a 97 lexus ls400 coach edition which is a much more carefree motoring experience(it also has held its value better than the s600) it really does do everything the big benz does but with higher reliability, mpg, in my opinion a
These gen.1 Lexus LS400s are to over-engineered to the point of ridiculous. It's like Lexus took a W126 Mercedes S-class and then made EVERYTHING better, and the W126 was already over-engineered.
I stand corrected, a facelift gen. 1. I was referring to the fact it was still based on the 1990 model vs. the 1999 which significantly looked much different.
I think this is what the Yomoshoto Evasion from the Sims 2 might be based on. I wonder if one of the Maxis employees owned a Lexus LS. Maybe if meet one of the former Maxis employees or one of the guys who developed the Sims 2 someday, I'll probably ask. Oh and If you reply to this comment, do not I repeat DO NOT say the Yomoshoto Evasion is just a "Generic sedan". I'd expect these kind of people to be a lot smarter than this. Anyways, the Lexus LS will always be a good car and if you like luxury sedans, but can't afford to buy a new one. I'd highly recommend buying one used.
Hey just a tip, for cars like this that have a few little buttons or switches to tinker with in the back by the lights and/or roof handles, show how they function too.
can anyone tell me if theses are good "trouble free" cars or not? I am actually looking a 96' and a 92' right now. I currently own a Mercedes but its very unreliable and too expensive for me to keep and its left me stranded on the side of road many times. I need something that wont die on me, Would this be good option?
yes there really reliable. just make sure you buy one with all maintenance records. and get it inspected by a mechanic. ever 20 year old car will have issues and even if u pay 100 for the inspection u can knock an extra 100 off becuase of the issues
The LS400 is the most reliable car ever built in the history of mankind. It is bulletproof from bumper to bumper. On top of that, the engine is in many ''10 best of all time'' lists.
Looking at this car, is just so advance at that point of time, an award v8 engine, so many gadgets, low drag coefficient, quiet and silk like ride. Simply put the same generation 7 series and s class to shame!
Anyone else with this model also have had power steering issues? mine has been on and off for the year and a half that ive had it and it's now finally a substantial leak somewhere in the pump. Still a worthwhile car though
@Tha89Kid well yeah but you dont have to make it that high so the people in the back were to shift there legs to the other side with out lifting over their waist.
Well, being an owner of a 92' model, I like the design of the older ones more. The smaller head and tail lights just bother me a little bit. Mechanically wise, the 94's and up are better though. lol :P
@coolsun888 yea it's too high...i like how Honda is now doing with the civics, they have it all flat which helps fit 3 nicely.man but the 90's cars look quality compared to now.
I own a 95 and it's everything you said it is. For 2010 this is a WELL made video, camera is not shakey and I can actually HEAR what you're saying. Even in 2018 it is far above the videos even now. dude i just bot a 95 IS400 for $300. and it has 84k miles.
You have no idea what a blessing this is to me. Some folk, like me, actually WANT a vehicle like this because of its price and reliability, even if we can afford a current model. Thank you once again!
Saaaame
I dont have money for a car rn but when i havr
Ima get this
I love old car
Own a '91 LS400 same color combo. Just turned over 301,000 miles. Got 25 mpg on a long drive to Vegas this past weekend. Hit the cruise control, cranked up the ac. No issues.
Still have it 8 years later?
If I ever want to see a car I like, I know I can depend on Saabkyle to have the right video!
I've always searched for car reviews and always putting saabkyles name on iy
I had one with 350,000 miles on it everything worked great just had to get something with better gas mileage if you take care of them they will last forever i love toyotas still havent owned a car better than a toyota

+Andres Rolon same here. 95 for my first car. despite being a V8 i've managed to get over 30MPG (freeway) out of it, more than i expected by far.
These car's are absolutely indestructible. I've owned every luxury car you can name & nowadays...I wouldn't think of buying anything but a Lexus.
I completely agree with you! Scotty Kilmer is the very reason I now only stick with Toyota and Lexus!
Bought a 1995 ls 400 for $3700, it has 185000, it runs smooth and I think it is the best used car you can buy! :)
dude i just bot a 95 IS400 for $300. and it has 84k miles.
best car ever made. I own a 1996 with 90k miles. Hard to beat, and cruises to 150 mph with ease. Future classic.
+gst69man agreed. i just wish i had that few miles in mine, instead of 241k
+Unclenate1000 any problems?
All in All: rear differential deterioration, starter failure, and power steering leak.
312,200 and still kicking. Do the basic maintenance and your care will run forever. I have a 1992 and it runs so smooth. About to change struts, but still expect to have for a while.
You still rocking your LS400?
I own a 1993 LS 400 my dad was the original owner 174k still running strong. Still has original paint kept it garaged. Phone still comes on.
How much miles do you get for full tank
this car is amazing. I own one and it is so nice. 292 hp is great, and is the most amazing car for roadtrips with the family. large comfortable and not to mention the rear air conditioning! not bad for a 16 year old car eh?
Used to drive a 92 with the v8. It was an absolute monster of a car, and I loved it every single one of the 170k miles
I watched this video 13 years ago when I was choosing a car. And later I bought a 96 LS400. Thanks you for review, man )
I have this car. Same year same color and let me tell you. Im going on my 5th year with this car and only go to the auto shop for a oil change or breaks. I never had major problems out of it. My brother has a green one just like that. It still runs like new!
Everlasting luxurious and magnificent engineering.
Gotta LOVE Lexus!
Pretty excited to say i might just be owning one of these soon!

Damn, so crazy that this vid is almost 10 years old and this car still had 30,000 more miles than my 95LS. I need to drive more LOL
I just got 1 with 80 thousand miles

Awesome car. Awesome channel. Awesome tour. Lexus LS is my favourite.
1st Class car !!! 15+ years and still kicking ass.

Is this Matt Farah's million-mile Lexus?
No
+Matt Bonaccio yes it is
+Matt Bonaccio this is patrick
No, this is Patrick
No, this is Patrick

Rappers in the 90's used to stunt in these cars
true
DaOldSchoolRapLova96 for real. 90's singer "Adeva" used to own one like this.
First was Nas. Then Jay z. Then Master P.
Chris Mazelle you got a vid?
You did an X-cellent job! I like the way you put different genres of music..thus appealing to different tastes....Good Job!
Best used car avail today, period. I've got a 93 with 120k. Timing belt and power steering pump are the only issues I've ever had.
+fsa1704 same here with the power steering issue. Besides that just a bad starter and rear differential
I still have my '95! It has only 170,000 miles on it. olzhas1one lol
This was definitely a time when Lexus was trying to make a point to other manufactures -- that they could also build luxury cars but also RELIABLE luxury cars! Bullet proof ride but a little numb in driving dynamics compared to his german rivals.
I've always liked the sound of the starter motor on the UZ engines
Hard to die car.
very cool videos I already seen 20 or more and I like all.
That lexus is very good for his time
I own one the same year, same color and everything haha still runs great and looks nice. Beautiful review
One of my favorite vids of yours yet ... Love this car .. Thanks .. Thumbs up!

I've been waiting for this review ever since you posted the picture on Facebook!
Thanks!!
This car is in great condition. Gotta love it!
I'm just going to die by seeing all the luxurious lexus ls,harrier, etc.
I have a Lexus LS400 but it was a 1997 and it was a nice riding car I love that Lexus LS 400 but now I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon and it ride Good to thank Toyota and Lexus
Forgot to tell that I love your reviews, thumbs up for that!

Definitely gotta find an SC400 too man. I love the early LS.
Nice! Thanks for posting a vid about this car i really wanted to see one of these
ahhh even 15 years later it still looks great
Ah yes the venerable LS400! Reminds me of the pilot episode of The Sopranos 😂👍
These gen.1 Lexus LS400s are to over-engineered to the point of ridiculous. It's like Lexus took a W126 Mercedes S-class and then made EVERYTHING better, and the W126 was already over-engineered.
Trades46 this is the facelift gen 2 model
I stand corrected, a facelift gen. 1. I was referring to the fact it was still based on the 1990 model vs. the 1999 which significantly looked much different.
I am going to have one of these cars. It will be mine.
Very nice and detailed overview, thanks!
1:37 - That horn doesn't sound like the Road Runner! I'm assuming the 1999 LS400 you tested had the same horn as this one, right?
Very nice car
In my 1995 Lexus LS400, there is an analog cellular phone in the glove box !!! The car still runs great.
oaubert haha! thar analog cellular phone! my dad had that in his too
Awsome Video! I Love Those LS400's.
Top 3 on my favourite lexus list this, right after the LFA and the IS-F
great review, extremely clean car.

i love Lexus LS period but the first Two Generations are my Favorite LS.
almost 2 decades old. Damn...Lexus are good!
I have that exact one!! Best first car possible one could argue. I just wish it was a different color. That dim gold color is boring :(
It all started with an 04 Saab and a guy named Kyle...
And its still going as we speak
can anyone tell me if theses are good "trouble free" cars or not? I am actually looking a 96' and a 92' right now. I currently own a Mercedes but its very unreliable and too expensive for me to keep and its left me stranded on the side of road many times. I need something that wont die on me, Would this be good option?
they typically dont die
at all
they're pretty indestructible. I'd even go as far to say it's one of the most reliable cars ever built.
yes there really reliable. just make sure you buy one with all maintenance records. and get it inspected by a mechanic. ever 20 year old car will have issues and even if u pay 100 for the inspection u can knock an extra 100 off becuase of the issues
The LS400 is the most reliable car ever built in the history of mankind. It is bulletproof from bumper to bumper. On top of that, the engine is in many ''10 best of all time'' lists.
they're pretty much immortal.
Exactly what I'm buying in some weeks !!! GUARANTEED ; Kevin a. Brooks
Looking at this car, is just so advance at that point of time, an award v8 engine, so many gadgets, low drag coefficient, quiet and silk like ride. Simply put the same generation 7 series and s class to shame!
I have a '97 version of this car and can verify it is an absolute dream in 2018...except the gas mileage.
Sweet car.The old Japanese luxury cars were so cool :).By the way...Was it manufactured in U.S or in Japan? Thanks for accepting my video response :)
After it started "Sweet"...
gotta agree with ya 100%
Hi Kyle , I was looking at a Mercedes Benz 560 sel on your lot , just on line ,but have you seen it ? It looks like it´s in good condition.
Thank´s
THAT'S SO PRETTY
hey kyle, can you please reveiw that audi shown @03:34? thanx, i always wanted one of those :)
Could you please do a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee? I want to buy one and i can't find any good tours of one on youtube
@coolsun888 this was a luxury car meaning it was for 2 people at the back.
the engines on the 1995-2000 Lexus LS/ Toyota Celsior (Japan)
Engines
4.0 L 1UZ-FE V8
the lexus ls sure has come a long way.....
wow is this car really sold because I just looked it up online and it said it was sold......?
could you do a start up nf in-dept tour of the mercedez benz cls550?? please respond as soon as poosible
2:58 There is something wrong with the starter alternator or something like it. the sound is harsh and unnatural.
+osamaFXX lol you dont know what you are talking about
+osamaFXX nope that's typical sound, matter of fact my dad's harrier/RX300 and my IS200/IS300 sound the same when you start them, just a toyota thing.
the 1994-2000 Lexus LS400 was assembled in
Tahara, Aichi, Japan
Anyone else with this model also have had power steering issues? mine has been on and off for the year and a half that ive had it and it's now finally a substantial leak somewhere in the pump. Still a worthwhile car though
Unclenate1000 mine was just a hose from pump.
Has it been solved? What was the problem?
Carpe diem oem hose went bad, simple fix! 👍
@Tha89Kid well yeah but you dont have to make it that high so the people in the back were to shift there legs to the other side with out lifting over their waist.
Can you do a startup of that white Nissan 350Z over there?
i got a 97 ls400 cant wait to vip it. Mercs are better im planning to save up and get a 99 s600 when i get a chance
That sound system is amazing!!! Hakamitchi got booooooooom (;
Premium Unleaded Fuel only? Would it be alright if you used mid level?
How many miles do you have on yours? My 94 has 380000 :)
You still rocking your LS400?
in some cars the fog lights and high beams can't b on at the same time
@Memphis35 how is that 2010 stil the same or has mercedes learned from it.
even cheaper.neighbor he has a lexus think IS 200.
Well, being an owner of a 92' model, I like the design of the older ones more. The smaller head and tail lights just bother me a little bit.
Mechanically wise, the 94's and up are better though. lol :P
@coolsun888 yea it's too high...i like how Honda is now doing with the civics, they have it all flat which helps fit 3 nicely.man but the 90's cars look quality compared to now.
can you do the a4 that's next to the explorer
Was this car in a wreck? Fog lamp switch, yet no fog lamps on exterior. Bumper maybe was replaced with a bumper without fogs?
@Memphis35 i ask did mercedes learn from it.did it make there cars better in 2010
