Christina's job is just to show different examples as a jumping off point for contestants. Sometimes they're too karaoke or they try too hard to sound like the original person who sings the song and I think Christina frequently takes the song and just riffs on it for a minute to show the people on her team that they should try to break the mold a little bit and how they can approach singing the song so that it helps them to look good onstage. And I think she knows what they're capable of so she wants to kindof... pull that out of them.
She's like a really good vocal coach. She can sing most things and imitate her students, singer of choice and even illustrate how to sing a song with her own voice. She knows her instrument well and she is totally free while doing it. Can't be doubtful just free and confident

Best vocals live. I love how she puts so much emotions into her songs. That's what makes her songs so believable and awesome, like her.

1:08 she should really start tapping into her rock side. she has that kind of texture and style that no other artists in the industry have. her voice is so versatile and multi-faceted and yet she just sticks to her pop side most of the time, besides when doing some special performances or covers, such as John Lennon's Mother.
Fighter is her notable rock song tho i hope she should have had a rock album.
yes i know a couple of songs from Stripped has some rock elements, such as Make Over (a little bit of garage rock) and Beautiful (soft rock). But these songs sound more like pseudo-rock, probably because in favor of Pop music i guess.

I love that she's mixing properly now her voice is so much better, sure she doesn't have the massive fat tone that she used to have down low as much anymore but at least she is belting without straining.
Yeah, I'v noticed a lot of improvement in her voice too. That's great, because belting with high larynx was killing her.
Lol yea i mean it did add an effect to her voice that was raw and harsh that i liked but her voice just can't do it anymore so she's now just using her natural voice, she should have done what Charice Pempengco does from the start, lower her larynx and get and thick heavy beautiful tone down low then as she went up get taught how to put her larynx into the neutral position and mix belt with her natural voice up high, i mean she could have still added the growl's but she didn't need to strain at all in the first place... sure that wouldn't be a perfect technique but it would have been ALOT better than what she originally did.
Alex Dakota move your larynx isn't healthy even in the lower notes, it should be still. this heavy and dark effect you are referring to should be achieved through right resonance in the correct articulation point for the type of your voice. (I say that because i'm a baritone, and achieving a powerful dark tone is pretty much everything i learn lol)

You are correct but because Christina's voice is far different from yours and her natural voice is very light then that is the only way she can achieve it, it may be fake but that would have been a better technique than the one she use's/used.
Yeah, that is something that makes me really interested in Xtina. Her speaking voice is very light coloured and soft (sounding like a soprano), but still her singing voice is dark and heavy.

GamerDares Wins How many times do you have state how much you stan for Sia and that she would "destroy" her? The fact is, Sia worked with David Guetta (in 2011) and all these other artists including Britney, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce, etc. AFTER Christina did Bionic. Not saying they all copied Christina but before she worked with her, Sia was practically unknown to the general music buying public outside of Australia apart from a few minor hits. And Christina isn't more versatile than Mariah Carey? She's experimented in and been praised for doing pop, R&B, Latin, rock, jazz, soul, blues and most recently country, among other genres and her knowledge of a wide variety of songs and genres in this video alone backs that up.

Lol all these people saying Christina has no technique! Hahahaha. She has more control of her voice than any other singer I've heard, and coaches by example because she CAN. You may not like the tonality of her voice, but her technique is flawless- and there is so much evidence for that. haha.
I love her tone, but her technique is very bad. Lately she is starting to use proper technique that's why she sounds good here. She could still sing much better than what she has done in this video (and in all her career)
Ignasi Martí Palet Her technique is inconsistent but not *that* bad, just mainly in the belts and when she darkens her natural tone. She has improved but she has shown on several occasions that she can sing with a healthy technique and in her normal tone - mainly here on the show.
CY T this video shows her normal tone? according to haters, the natural tone of her voice was 12 years ago... which is obviously wrong. There're so many misconceptions regarding her voice. it's so stupid.
neglectedurchin Her natural tone is pretty much the same now… Maybe a little darker in the lower register but that's about it, though it's very hard to tell sometimes as she hardly ever sings in it or at least for a whole song, except Say Something.
CY T her natural tone was in her debut...that's it. This voice you're hearing is not Christina. It's some weird larynx discombobulation she's doing to make her voice sound better than what it is.... That's pretty much the argument. Her "natural" tone is her voice maturing from a teenager to what it is now. The Christina in this video sounds like she did in back to basics and stripped. If anything, i think her weight has an influence in her singing since her voice when she's overweight IS definitely noticeably heavier. .

Go Christina baby, the voice is back! Even if she has 'bad' belting technique, she was great at teaching the contestants about phrasing, getting the most emotional impact out of lyrics and also showing them some conviction. I guess I'm learning that singing isn't all about being 'perfect' and have more respect for Christina than I used to...
