Astounding talent and intonation, always impressive to me on any fretless string instrument. Can anyone explain why string players tilt the bow at such a harsh angle instead of using more of the hair on the strings?
@@tinman5322 yea it'll make less noise, but honestly not by much. You'll see alot of solo players playing very loud very close to the bridge but with a bit of an angle, so i think thr volume difference is quite negligible. One other big difference is that less rosin is connecting with the string means the bow glides easier over the string, so i guess it just makes it easier to play quiet legato stuff, or just legato stuff in general

It doesnt bounce as much that way and also i think it makes a more narrow sound tonally
