Crop Residue Management

The film depicts the impact of Green House Gas (GHG) emission, suggests alternatives to paddy straw burning and advocates efficient crop residue management. The film is among the awareness creation initiatives of NABARD under the project on “Climate Resilience Building among Farmers through Crop Residue Management”.

Paddy stubble can be used for many purposes. Instead of burning -
1) it can be mixed with the soil itself to increase the nutrients of soil. This will also conserve moisture and lessen the need of fertilizer for future use.
2) Also the stubble can be cut and used for making compost.
3) it can be fed to animals along with fodder.
4) can be taken by industries for making paper, bio gas, and as a substitute for coal.
It will generate extra income for farmers.
