    • @boomerisadog3899
      @boomerisadog3899 5 ปีที่แล้ว +184

      It makes any decent shooter slower and less accurate. Especially, when trying to engage multiple targets. If the coward who shot all those people really was using a bump stock? The survivors should be glad because without one the death toll would have been much higher. I really feel for all those who lost their lives, the survivors who have to live with the memory of it, and their loved ones. I hope they find peace.

    • @jakebtu
      @jakebtu 4 ปีที่แล้ว +124

      Joseph Campise correct. For bump stocks to work you pretty much don’t release yourself trigger finger like you normally would and can’t try to control the recoil by pulling the stock into your shoulder properly. It’s almost like a shotgun “push, pull” method of recoil mitigation but with the loose stock forcing your finger to come off the trigger then you pushing back against the fore end with you off hand it basically turns your support arm into you trigger finger. More or less. That’s why you either have to practice ALOT to use it “properly” if your an experienced shooter, because like you said, you go against your basic rifle handling instincts. Which is why it’s a bit easier for inexperienced shooters.

Find me one were the gun in question was brought in from mexico through some illegal smuggling b/s. The short answer is none, they were bought through normal channels, places where gun laws could have stopped them. If you don't want shitty gun regulation from people who don't know about guns, get involved and propose gun laws that make sense and that actually protect people.

      Thanks to one person, Trump and the ATF took it upon themselves to reclassify the definition of a machine gun without a single bit of due process involved, and now everyone but the criminals will suffer for it.
      And now, with the addition of more anti-gun politicians into the mix, Feinstein plans to bring the entire country to California’s level in an instant, in an effort to disarm the law-abiding populace.
      I live in Canada. I can tell you this much: our authoritarian gun laws don’t do anything. We still have mass shootings, at an increasing rate, in our cities, especially Toronto (we had a mass shooting with over 10 casualties... and a van attack with over 10 deaths, to name a couple, not including gangland violence, people getting stabbed and beaten, and so on). I live an hour away from that city, and fear that the crime will spread north with nothing for us to do in our defence. Our government will continue to blame us, the lawful gun owners and supporters, for the actions of lawless criminals. The RCMP, having been given bureaucratic power over our gun laws, will find new and mental-gymnastics-laden ways to strip us of firearms without any changes to Canadian law based on arbitrary reasons. If anyone down there tells you our laws help us, they don’t. The reason we have less crime is due to a much lower population (a few million less than CA) over a larger landmass; hence why most of the crime is isolated within large cities. However, I feel it will start (and most likely is already) spreading, especially since the populations of those cities will inevitably move further and further out over time.
      Fight for your rights.
      Stop these laws from being made.
      Support the currently ongoing lawsuit against the BATFE.
      Never take your rights for granted.
      Don’t assume politicians of one side will inherently support guns over the other; the current president clearly hasn’t done that for you, despite his campaign promises.
      Always do whatever you can to keep your rights as a citizen of your country safe from further damage, and repair them when you can.
      That’s all I have to say.
      Have a good day.

There will never be more than there were then, so the price went up. However, they're not much more expensive to produce than a semi automatic firearm. Anti gunners are simply selecting which arguments to use.
    First they know they likely can't win with proposing to ban all firearms or most. So they target certain options.
    1.) Target items like bump stocks and use clever wording to get the votes and then at the same time restricting more and more parts.
    2.) Target "Assault Weapons" even through they know the statistics that handgun related shootings are responsible for more of the firearm related violence. They will also classify more firearms as assault weapons so more are controlled.
    3.) Target handguns using the actual statistics stating "in a new study, handguns are shown to be the most harmful to society"
    4.) Target everything else using all sorts of arguments like showing the brute force a shotgun can deploy or the long range capabilities of a basic bolt action rifle and scope, etc, etc.
    They will tick away at our rights and playing on the ignorance of people that are clueless about firearms and the stats.

      Bub, you're simply playing into the propaganda that is being force fed to you by the pro-gun crowd.
      With the exception of a few VERY LOUD individuals, in DC and in a handful of jurisdictions, the anti-gun lobby knows that they will never be able "come take muh gunz".
      What DO we want? You people are so obsessed with spreading the propaganda, you won't even listen to what the COMMON SENSE proposals are.
      -There's no reason the lawful age to purchase a rifle/shotgun shouldn't be raised to 21.
      -Mandatory, universal background checks, on every purchase, are not the boogeyman that you all envision. Opponents of such, claim that that will inevitably lead to nationwide registration, and, therefore, potential confiscation. Anyone must genuinely be naive so as to believe that the Feds would ever be capable of literally confiscating every firearm in America. And to those worried about "being on a list", your state already has such a list, including every store bought purchase you've made. What would keep the Feds from simply obtaining that information, assuming they'd ever want to? This is all a bunch of crap the NRA has been spoon feeding you, for years. And if you think the NRA is actually looking out for YOUR interests, then I hate to tell you that they're looking out for your money.
      -"Assault weapons" is a stupid term. Yes, there are plenty of us who understand the REAL definition of one. We also cringe at the fools the anti-gun lobby picks as their talking heads.
      -Besides being convenient and a novelty, there's no legitimate need for 30rd magazines or bump stocks. Admittedly, getting rid of the high capacity magazines is probably little more than a pipe dream. They're handy, and I can look across the room and see a stack of 15 or so of them, right now, as I'm typing this. Do I NEED them? Of course not. But they're fun to use and they're more handy, when out at the range. Would I ever get my drawers in a bunch, if there was ever a moratorium placed on the future sale of them? Nope. Do I NEED a bump stock? Obviously, no. I've used one one time, and while it had a decidedly "cool" factor to it, it was more than a pain to consistently use, then anything else. @TheTomasio1975 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      One should understand how the bump stock (or bump firing) actually works. What is actually happening is potentially dangerous. The hammer is being released before the bolt is fully in battery and locked. The hammer follows the bolt down its travel. When the bolt locks the hammer is already against the firing pin. That's how one gets the high rate of fire, using the recoil impulse of the firearm to reset the sear and "pull" the trigger.
      If you have heavy primers the pressure of the hammer against the firing pin may not be enough to ignite the primer.
      I did bump fire with two of my semi-autos at the range one time. I had the same failure to fire a round especially in my AK. I didn't understand why until later when I thought about what is going on inside the rifle. I then realized that bump firing (while fun) is probably not a wise thing to do. Especially depending on the particular design of the rifle's bolt and firing pin.

    I keep hearing people say they don't need a bump stock or that they're not accurate. Not accurate? Depends on who's using it. I've seen a guy using a bump stock shoot a whole round of bullets on target. You can't expect to pick a bump stock with no experience or practice, and do this. Whether people think they are needed, has nothing to do with anything. There are a lot of gun accessories that I see no need for, but I don't want them banned. Many gun owners take the attitude of "well I see no need for it, so go ahead and ban it". If you take that attitude, eventually the government will be banning the things you think you need. Banning things based on need, is how Australia, and most of Europe, has banned guns. The government requires them to show a "need " before they can own them, and the government decided that 99% of the people don't need guns.

    Jerry fired accurately at 360 rpm, faster than a lot of automatic weapons lol.

      Not very many. I can't even think of one off hand with that slow a rpm. I am sure someone will inform me of some obscure SMG or something. Still, without target transitions, I bet Jerry could top 600 rpm easily.

      @@dsm3759703 The Chauchat fired at 240 rpm, the Breda 30 at 150 rpm, a lot of mounted machine guns had slow rates of fire to conserve ammo, for example the St Etienne MLE 1907 had a fire rate adjuster, from 600 rpm top speed all the down to a measely 8 rounds per minute full auto.

      Auto shotguns. Thats about it. Even then I dont think many reach 360 as the AA12 tops out at 300
