Often it is enough to change the display refresh rate in the Intel graphics settings / Intel Graphics Control Panel and the flashing disappears.

@@szymon7607 The problem is, that the Intel driver switches the refresh rate to 40Hz for some reason. Sometimes the display only flickers in battery mode. Sometimes it stays that way even in plugged-in mode. It happens even on brand new laptops, it's driver bug.

Sometimes this also means that the display it self is broken.

    Quick tip for display problems.
if you go into the computers BIOS by pressing F2 (Usually) and wait, if the problem happens in there, its usually hardware
If the problem starts after POST, when Windows has taken control, its usually a driver issue.

The old hardened thermal pads could be preventing the heatsink from contacting the die all the way- probably best to replace with thermal putty

Yes, its very common on Laptops and desktop GPUs. I saw a laptop that started overheating after being dropped too hard on the table, or used GPU that started overheating after being shipped in a box. Both times repasting fixed them as the old hardened paste couldnt take even a small shift of the heatsink.

Using liquid metal on Copper heatsinks/heatpipes is a bad idea. Overtime, it gets absorbed into the copper and your temps will shoot through the roof again. In order to use Liquid Metal on copper stuff, it needs to be nickel plated to prevent absorption.

Is like ''microwave or coca-cola zero cause cancer'', ''ps5 and liquid metal it is a bad idea and I show you why'', and all was false so they get views xD. Well, for me, I usually check the BIOS first to determine if the problem is more on hardware side or software side. With that in mind, if you boot into Windows (or any other OS) and it behaves oddly, you can have high confidence that it is the OS fault instead of hardware issues. I believe it is because it has a Rtx2080 and i7 in a thin laptop. The fans only are like this when the power cable is plugged in to the laptop. And did not do it when on battery. I have since switched to a MacBook. The Razer was not broken, it is just a design flaw 😂. Also be careful putting liquid metal in laptops. The coolers I’m not designed for it. And also unlike a PS5 or a computer. A laptop is going to be chucked around more. Meaning that the liquid metal could spill out! But still enjoyed the attempt, and thank you for your effort! I know you did your due diligence in adding the liquid metal to increase better cooling but what about adding the same safe guard that the PS-5 uses like that black material they put around the chip to keep the liquid metal from running off into other components.
It seems to work well. I'm sure that material is easy to get and would ensure that no LM would get out of place.
I've seen other sites where a repair person would find LM all over the mother board because the user had the same idea as you but the LM got away from the chips.
I'm going to do the same on my computer but I'm also going to get some of that material to set up around the chip. I recently did a thorough cleaning on my Dell XPS 9560 and found old dried thermal paste.
The computer is over 5 years old.
It runs fine but I did notice before I opened it and gave it this thorough cleaning that the fans did run quite often and the bottom of the puter was getting much warmer than normal.
Right now with the new thermal paste, all is good but I want to make sure I have more years of use.
So far, only problem I've had was a bad power cord end and replaced that along with the plug in. It had formed a short in the end plug where it goes into the puter power receptacle.
I'm even still using the same battery but it has diminished in it's longevity.
IT was originally a 6 hour battery but now down to 2 hours.
This computer stays up and running 24/7 and has been from the day I bought it.
    Great Show!!

Why in the world would you put liquid metal on a machine that is not setup to use liquid metal? this will cause issues later when its taken apart and the new owner dosent know there liquid metal, but more importantly theres nothing in place that would stop the liquid mental from getting on the components, other than the cooler, which i wouldnt trust.

I've needed to give my laptop a good cleaning for a while, reapply the thermal compound, replace the old thermal pads and replace a broken flex cable for the mouse pad for quite a while and this video has given me the inspiration to do it all this weekend I've procrastinated for long enough. 😁

Can you do a video on the replacement of a 5 pole 3.5mm headphones Jack? Astro and Logitech are using them and there are no video's on 5 pole jacks especially Astro so it is low hanging TH-cam video fruit. Also no one shows how to identify which wire is for what point. Also an excellent way to sell and make a commission off 5 pole 3.5mm jacks as some people have a hard time finding them outside of aliexpress I have read on reddit.

Did you check the settings in the razor? I had a similar issue after some updates on a 15”. Turned out the updates defaulted the fan speed to “max” so every time I turned it on the fans would ramp to full no matter what the load was on the laptop.

I’ve got a Razer Blade 13’ and it’s always had issues. The keyboard has been replaced, the battery won’t charge half the time, the sound is iffy, the screen brightness likes to default to max for some reason… idk it’s just strange lol

actually, I had similiar situation with fans in laptop I bought recently.
I changed thermal paste , thermal pads , and everything seemed to be fine but fans kept spinning very fast when doing like literally anything.
The problem was caused by windows setting cpu to 4 ghz for some reason and laptop was oerheating because of that.
after changing some windows settings everything worked fine

There was nowhere near enough mounting force on that cooler when you put it on the first time. Thermal paste should be very thinly spread. Especially on a laptop. Even a quarter of a millimeter gap is enough to cause overheating
