Just made the midi with side splits. Ready now for waistband, wish me luck! The front was much longer than back two pieces, don't know how that happened but I just matched pieces from top and trimmed off the bottom, it all looks ok, phew! If waistband goes ok I would definitely make again in a different stretchy fabric. Love E and M patterns.
Wow a difficult decision for me too. To make it easy I will make two skirts. The first one with two side vents and then with the back split. So I would say close the back and make it with two side vents

What type fabric are you using for the skirt?
Is this pattern only for stretch fabric? Can you use Woven?
This pattern is designed for stretch fabrics. We have some other skirt patterns designed for woven fabrics on our website www.ellieandmac.com.
I find it easier to get in and out of the car when wearing side vents.
