      The “OG” of sci fi… you conveniently forget all the beautiful trailblazing black actresses as far back as 1898, the 1920’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s 70’s and then 80’s and 90’s, such as:
      Nichelle Nichols

      Vonetta McGee
      Denise Nicholas
      Kathy Lester

      Minnie Gentry
      Renn Woods
      Marla Gibbs
      Cynthia Belgrave
      Marilyn Colman

      @badbanana494 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @TheAmityElf ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@badbanana494 Yeah, I mentioned that in my other comment. I hope they still have the conversation at some point; the fact that it seems we'll be spending more time with Rufus as a child than was spent in the book could mean that more opportunities to talk will be created. They could really play up his self-destructive nature by adding new instances of near-death (or other kinds of danger) for him to summon Dana. I'm open to it, as long as they don't drastically warp what made the characters and their interactions so interesting.

    I saw the pilot episode a few months ago and really enjoyed it. Hoping they improved on a few of the issues but overall it was clear that the it was heading in a great direction. As someone who hadn't read the book the 1st episode was intriguing and made me excited for whenever it would finally debut.

    I’ve never read this but I’m going to take a stab at the plot. She actually does travel through time, does something heroic to do with slavery that effects her current day existence. Bonus points if her or her husband/partner are lineage of slaves and/or slave owners.
