When I was a 7-year-old girl growing up in Johannesburg, we visited Cape Town. I decided there and then to stay in the Cape one day. That desire spurted me on to study hard and make my desire a reality. Eleven years later I was a student at Stellenbosch University. Now - five decades later - I'm a pensioner staying in Durbanville, a town in the Cape Winelands and I am grateful that my childhood dream was manifested. The media loves maligning us and highlighting what is wrong in South Africa. Thank you for promoting our diverse and hauntingly beautiful country. Peace and harmony to you, and may you soon make your plans to visit Cape Town a reality. I will personally pick you up from the airport and transport you to your accommodation.
What an inspiration. This story is amazing, and I hope many people are inspired by your comment! Thank you for sharing. It’s proof that good things happen when you desire them!!
That futuristic house is called Ironman house, it's one of the most expensive to rent in SA, $20k/day. Nasty C shot the song Black and White music video there
I've been inside a lot of the top-end villas for work, and it is *insane* how beautiful they are. If you love spectacular nature views then you'll love Cape Town.
Thank you for being so enthusiastic about our city, but all you see here is just a drop in the ocean. We want you to come and stay here, you will love it here
You should come visit SA! Cape Town is very tourist friendly :) and if I'm not mistaken, Canadians can visit for like 3 months so you could easily come stay for a while!
I have an even better view of Cape Town right outside my window, and I didn't have to pay much for it🤣🤣🤣. When I was growing up, my dream was to live in New York City. However, when I visited NYC back in 2016, I was quite confused as there wasn't much to do, and the food didn't taste great, the people were meaner. Nevertheless, I still have a fondness for NY city, but it made me appreciate Cape Town even more. I love the food, the wine, the diversity, the mountains, the ocean, the weather, and the laid-back vibes of Cape Town. My advise to you finish your school, get a job, make your money in Canada, and invest some in Cape Town. It is easy to live a soft life in Cape Town even when you don't have money
I’ve come across your channel recently! Watching your videos, makes me even more proud to be from SA! Thank you for sharing your experiences. When you do return, please put Knysna (my hometown), Plettenberg Bay & Tsitsikamma on your list (this is known as the Garden Route)
I live next to Marina Da Gama in a suburb called Costa Da Gama in Muizenburg and I managed to get a house with a swimming pool and 2 km away from the beach at a really affordable price (C$125 882). It's in a gated security complex so its safe, plus the Muizenburg beach and local scene is really lit, especially if you love surfing.
The Cape has some great universities. University of the Western Cape, Stellenbosch University and the University of Cape Town. Depending on what you want to study you are looking at around CAD 19 000 per year which includes studies and living expenses. But if you are smart about it you can probably get by on CAD15 000.
I lived in a two bed sea facing apartment in Mouille Point behind the Stadium before we left South Africa. Now living in Canada and loving life in our new winter home. 😂
I am South African, specifically from Cape Town and everything you see here is exactly that. Most beautiful city in the world. We that live here see this as a normal part of life. Pleaee do come visit you wont regret it
I’ve lived in Cape Town for my whole life and I can safely say that there’s nowhere else in the world that I’d rather live. Where else can you live in an area where you have access to mountains, the ocean, nature and the city all in close proximity to one another. I truly believe that this place is heaven on earth and that everyone should have the privilege of seeing it with their own eyes. You should definitely visit, you don’t know what you’re missing…
Pls keep in mind that every time he mentions a price (unless he states USD) he in most cases are referring to prices in South African Rands (so take the SA price and divide by 19 to get USD)
@@lalay942 thanks, I did notice however there were a few properties where he didn’t make the conversion and the look on the TH-camrs face, I could tell he made the assumption that it was dollars and not rands.
I agree with your thought on the media and bias, Cape Town is definitely underrated. I am a south african and can confirm the city is amazing. The problem with price that most South Africans struggle with isnt actually that everything is expensive(especially on international standards) but rather that the income for a lot of South Africans is too low. However the western cape is definitely the most well looked after and advanced province in South Africa. highly recommend you come and stay here for a bit. Its the perfect mix of 1st world and rural. Big population, busy city but lots of open space and natural beauty. I actually prefer that the media doesnt rave about us, keeps us a nice close community. Many people say that South Africa(Western Cape) is like the United States of Africa.
Cape Town is lovely! It's been years since I've visited there. It has developed much! Lots of foreigners investing there. Our government needs introspection though. Other parts are another story.
This is beautiful all Africa should look like this the leaders need to have goodness in there heart. Even though they are getting pay to make the country look like s***
@@BANGA2TIMEZ I’ve been to Van a few times.. :) Grouse mountain and that super high rope bridge!!! I did have a wonderful time in Canada. Was there for about 6 and a bit years. So many parts reminded me of SA. You defo need to go to Cape Town. You’d love it there!
Many high profile people (well known international pop stars, actors, politicians, sports stars etc) own homes here (many are holiday homes). These people's privacy is respected. You will often pass them in the streets, supermarkets and malls (most times you wont even recognize them) and they don't get bothered by fans or paparazzi

So beautiful. The reason why this city isn't all over the media is simple racism. People think Africa, they think we as Africans are living in huts. South Africa is absolutely beautiful and I would love to have real estate in this area.
Please bare in mind when doing conversions of currency USD has more value than ZAR hence it will come across as cheaper or more affordable, however for SA the price of real estate is exorbitant! It's exactly the same as in the US or Canada, same principle, that's why foreigners live SA they getting more bang for there buck!

So happy you did this video. People still think we only live in huts and have wildlife roaming around us. Crazy!
South Africa is so so beatiful. Heaven on earth❤❤❤❤
Heaven will be more beautiful and no sin. No crime, no selfish people, no hungry people.
They showing the nice parts of South Africa. Go to central Johannesburg, central Durban etc. The country is falling apart in all ways

Sout African houses are actually quality too. There not made from capboared .❤
There's a reason they build theirs in planks.
It's over priced cardboard
Crazy how our homes are very expensive but it’s all made of wood 🪵
