What i think theynshould do is if and when they are developing any space and the lack ideas they should get overseas planners or achitects that are competent do design something nice suitable amd modern to suit whic ever area the desire to develop because all we get is roughly done and mediocre developments
I agree there is lack of modern vision. There is no planning in anything just mediocre work that is subpar. Sad to say but Guyana will need to bring in foreign architects for inspiration.
The most important thing now is to increase wages and salaries for Guyanese workers and others because low wages is biggest issue keeping Guyanese people poor and impoverished.
Wages correlate with cost of living and standards. By a considerable margin , the cost of living is much lower than the advanced economies. Wage increases are best obtained by upgrading skill sets and moving up the food chain. Opportunities are plentiful with the number of open positions. The early birds will always get the worms!

I, totally, agree because as fast and as reckless as Guyanese drive their cars, it was a good idea not to make it into a highway. Just look how fast they are driving their car in this video in the city area.
The hand washing stations might suggest they plan to erect a series of snackettes or designated kiosk lots for vendors along the paved walkway. Something similar to Kingston Seawall but a more modest version. I dare not imagine the lower basin stations might be public conveniences although, with enough disregard, they may all become those eventually. It seems odd to me that such public projects are undertaken without even a basic signboard depicting what is being erected and by whom etcetera. Normally a government is eager to show how they're spending on infrastructure.
Why are they building all those public sinks. I have never seen anything like this 😂😢😅😊😂 I hope they plant some trees and put some benches and other amenities in that park.
Is the public sinks common in the country? I am not sure if those sinks blend with aesthetics of the park. Those sinks look like it belongs in a house or restaurant. 😂
@@rda6029 I don’t care to understand and I highly doubt that is reasoning for the sinks in the park which probably would not be working after a few uses. Also, the sinks don’t look aesthetically pleasing for the park. I can see adding a water fountain, but those sinks don’t go well in a park 🤨
The reason why NYC is so walkable is because of the trains which go everywhere. If this city is to grow and develop we need light rail connecting the suburbs with the city center and with high speed rail and mass transit. That is the future. China is already there. The old heads need to let the young people lead us into the future.
There's a project here that seems to be a mystery? The government being transparent would have published its development proposals for public notification. Based on the overall development around GT, I personally think that there is an urban development plan for some areas of GT wrt industrial and infrastructure developments. Some developments may be under the jurisdiction of municipal governments. Unless that area is designated as a transportation corridor, it seems to be a space for recreational activities. The trend in some big cities like Toronto is to facilitate more bicycle lanes and reducing lanes for motor vehicles. The trend is of course to go green. Really urbannized cities in Japan and China have streets for pedestrians only. Guyana is way too small a population to have pedestrian only streets except the Stabroek market area. Urban transportation development requires engineering economic studies and OD traffic surveys.
This strip of land was reserved as a right of way since the 1960. The same is true of right of way land in the south Ruimveldt parallel to Aubrey Barker Road. This government has destroyed the right of way which was reserved for mass transit by building on the land.
Do you mean the same APNU that signed the oil contract with ExxonMobil that provides the billions of dollars to improve the country’s infrastructure? This is not a channel to air your political bias. This is a politically neutral platform.

The PPP crime family loves to keep the oil money contracts in house! They obviously could care less about anything else!

Feet washing stations is probably Indian thing so you wouldn't understand unless you're a part of the tribe!

Feet washing stations must be an indian thing?
Are they planning to dispense that dirty water through those reservoirs on the strip?
Knowing that Guyana is progressing so quickly and steadily must be driving you mad? 😂😂

Apnu would probably wants to put up shacks and build a ghetto area there .

Short response: Correct.
They still don’t know how to build a proper curbside.
Yes it looks rough and unrefined. I hope it looks better when it’s finished.
@@RaphaelNation it wouldn’t!
No trees!
They have covered walkways in Singapore. I imagine that a roof over this walkway could provide cover from both sun and rain.
@@RaphaelNation vegetation is best. Well manicured vegetation is best!
Development all over the country ,God bless the PPP /C government.
Did the ppp say , thank you, uncle David Granger 😅
A definite lack of creativity for open spaces!
