No, to be honest it was not only about the centuries, but he had become really inconsistent, and he got out on ducks and low scores very often. Yes, he did have an occasional 50 or 60 but he really was out of form.

Virat tried to pull India with many innings like 1) 149 and 51 vs Eng 2) Twin hundreds at adelaide 3) 154 at Centurion in SA 4) 97 and 103 in Eng 5) Other hundreds in Aus (123 at perth requires spl mention)... He is a great player and a great captain in tests too....but the support he gets in batting is too low. He is not from a great Aus side of 2003 period where u have numerous matchwinners. He is a one-man army fr India and India almost failed in all ICC events when he did not click. He is surely a legendary batsman of the last decade, but the team requires to do some help to make him an all-time great.

2019 WC: I remember he hit 5 50s in consecutive matches and people were not impressed. For any other player we would have said he's going through a purple patch. That's the kind of standards he has set over the years. Absolute monster!
Not true. That was the time when he was in supreme form. You have to be blind if you thought he was doing well (even for normal standards) after 2020. He averaged around 25 in test cricket for 3 yrs which was abysmal. Only now he has returned back to his pre 2020 form.

He had a really bad 2022 before Asia cup tho and as for his form in Test cricket it's yet to be seen if he is still as good as before.
