    Yeah, this was a joke! lolololololol
    I wonder if I fooled anyone...
    Anyway, I think if I WERE to do this zoom legitimately, which I would never do, it would take about 10^210 iterations at the final zoom - because each new minibrot requires about 3 times more iterations than the one before it.

      Funny you say that, I just watched a video explaining why that happens: th-cam.com/video/r6Rp-uo6HmI/w-d-xo.html
      Basically, to compress the data of a video to transmit it in a reasonable time, TH-cam uses not only compression algorithms on each individual frame, but interframe compression that takes advantage of relatively constant areas to avoid sending the same data repeatedly. So, for example, if a video mainly consisted of someone talking in front of a still background, TH-cam doesn’t have to send the same data about the background repeatedly; it can just tell each frame to copy from the one before.
      When some particle effect like snow or confetti is in a video, the large number of individual moving objects makes interface compression far less powerful since far more is changing onscreen, making the video quality plummet. The chaotic fuzz here has a similar effect to that, also making it hard for TH-cam to reuse the data.

      @@KnakuanaRka Good Video! 👍 Yeah, actually it's not so much "TH-cam's compression algorithm" but Video compression in general. TH-cam is using video formats that your browser can play and these make use of the compressed data to unfold to your display.

    LAST FRAME: 2 * 10^413 ITERATIONS!!!
    Actually, from Ultra Fractal by experiment, a magnification of 55.25 times (+/- 1 in 2000 parts at most) causes no visible shift from one West Brot to its next West Brot. So, the ratio of the logarithms of the magnification to iteration increase is log(55.25)/log(3.000) = 3.652. Given that the final West Brot is at 10^1502.1 magnification, this means it is the 1502/log(55.25) = 862.12 = 862nd West Brot - you can count if I'm wrong. The cumulative error would be at most (1.0005)^862 = 1.5386 < 55.25. Then there would be 3^862 * 100 = 1.899 * 10^413 iterations in the last frame! (Check: 1502 / 3.652 = 411.28 + 2 = 413.28)
    Sorry to split hairs, but this would undoubtedly be an UNPRECEDENTED RECORD IN ITERATIONS (10^413.3), much higher than the 10^210 estimate!

By the way, I have known about Mandelbrot zooms since I was 2 years old. Maybe you should check out my Mandelbox flights. You should not simply assume that I am ignorant, as doing so reveals that you are ignorant yourself.

    1. Because if you zoom in the the coordinate Carykh does the mini Mandelbrots become distorted.
    2. It would take every computer on the planet combined longer than the age of the universe to render.
    3. If you render deep zooms best practice is to avoid mini Mandelbrots because they are the slowest parts to render.
    4. If somebody was trying to break a record they wouldn't want to make it look like a loop.

      "Also, 1^∞ = 1!!!"
      About that...
      ...So, the number e, more formally known as Euler's constant, is defined as "the limit as n approaches infinity of the function f(n) = (1 + (1/n))^n". So if we actually plug in infinity for n, then the f(n) side becomes e by definition, and the other side becomes (1 + (1/∞))^∞. Anything divided by infinity is zero, so the 1 + (1/∞) becomes 1 + 0, which in turn becomes just 1. That gives us e = 1^∞.
      e = 1^∞.
      That's right, no matter how many times you multiply 1 by itself, it stays 1, until you do it an infinite number of times and suddenly it jumps up to e.
      Now where's the mistake I inevitably made in figuring out this paradox?

    • @kiefac
      @kiefac 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clownpiece
      a) infinity isn't a number, it's more of an abstract mathematical construct
      b) e is a limit, so to properly calculate (read: approximate) it you need to plug in an abstractly large number for n (which we know can't include infinity).
      also I'm pretty sure that even if we did allow infinity as a number, any non-zero value for x in (x/inf) would result in +/-{insert lowercase epsilon here} as you're separating the number into infinitely smaller chunks, thereby creating an infinitesimal

    I think posting, how much you zoomed in into the Mandelbrot set picture, to show you've got the record has no sense. I could zoom just in the middle of the picture, and keep it completely black for next 6 hours, so I can say I've done Deepest zoom ever (something like 10^100 000).

  • @grobblewobble

    Joke or not, this is in fact what a zoom to this depth would look like. No calculation is needed because the pattern is predictable. Which also means any talk about "the record for deepest Mandelbrot zoom" is pointless, unless you restrict it to an area where you actually need to calculate the iterations to generate the image.
